Must have game

Update as of 2024: I just came back to this game because I heard rumors long ago that the company wasn’t doing well and they were probably shutting down the game so I stopped playing. Really unfortunate but I’m back now and have noticed a lot of new content. Wish I never left! I wish this game and game company the best and I hope they prosper. One of my favorite gachas for sure! I love this game so much. I’ve played it for 2+ years now and would say this is a top 3 gacha game. I’ve played so many games and this one really stuck with me. I love the story, characters, combat, all the different/diverse missions. Obtaining gear is the name of the game and is crucial to being successful. Obtaining gear isn’t easy but it’s not hard either. There is a good amount to be obtained but to roll the exact stats you want can be a little hard and like every other gacha you need to pray to the RNG gods. But all in all this game has a great community, seems like the devs have a passion for the game and listen to the community. They have a roadmap for future content which is nice to see what’s upcoming every month…

Great game, unfortunately though

DISCLAIMER: I am currently writing this review after I’ve already uninstalled the game roughly half a year ago. TDLR: Definite recommend- simple (don’t really have to use your brain that much) strategy, great graphics, good characters & backstory, and intriguing story. Also Korean. I genuinely did enjoy playing the game, experiencing the story, the characters, and the combat. The only problem is, I played everything I’m fairly sure I could’ve and I’m not a very patient man so of course- I uninstalled to go download something else on my phone. I would come back if they added more story bits but personally it was a one and done deal. For those wanting to play I’d definitely recommend this game, great fun, nice time spender. You don’t have to pay to play/win, and it uses strategy (unless you filled your squad with overpowered units) to win the game, although it’s not Arknights kind of strategy I still do enjoy the simple strategy thing it has. (Soldier/mech-only squad viable when??)

P2w and atrocious not enough storage issue

When i first saw this game i was hyped and when i got the message that the pre-registered game was available to play I was even more excited. Its been a while since then and I must say that I genuinely enjoyed the game and events. However I noticed several p2w aspects that ruins the game for me. A new counter character is released one after another by the next week or so and its incredibly infuriating because of the lack of gems that we get from just playing, I don't want to have to spend so much money just to get one character that I want and the amount of money required to spend for skins is ridiculous, I know you need to make money but come on now this seems like over doing it. Lastly I want to talk about the horrendous storage issue. Every time the game needs to update i get an error that claims that the game cannot update due to insufficient storage even though i have mote than enough storage, because of this annoying issue it prevents me from opening and playing the game. At this rate I'm tired of storage issues. Like how much storage is required for an update? Its completely ridiculous to have to put up with such a turn-off from a pretty good game. please fix the storage issue.

Didn’t receive anniversary Kim Hana from anniversary ticket

I don’t usually write reviews but I genuinely didn’t receive my anniversary unit for the coupon I had, I did research and made sure I got the anniversary unit that I wanted but after selecting and using my ticket I never received the unit. Is there anyway from the dev team you can see what happened? I hope you can see the selection history because she is not in my collection. I really hope this can be fixed because I really do enjoy the game but I feel like I was definitely wronged. I only have one anniversary ticket and I never got my unit and it really killed my motivation for the game. I just hope I can get her back or be able to make the same selection again after working so hard to get it. Thank you

New update downgraded the game

I saw the recent reviews about the game wanted to see for myself. It’s true the game got worse. The UI is Atrocious I’m not a new player I’ve played for a about a year and I had trouble navigating through it. If an experienced player can’t navigate through it new players won’t even be able to play. The hololive collab is a joke trying to get the free skin will take ages you might as well buy the skin instead. That’s how everything is now. It will take ages to get anything. Now loot is harder than ever to get. Now that Japan is merged with us pvp is a mess with pay to win players from Japan. They are ahead of us with units, updates. Skill is out the window now in pvp just spend some money. Overall the game was downgraded from being somewhat free to play to now only being able to get everything within the next year or of course spend money to speed it up or get what you want. The story is sub par with predictable plot twists. It felt like every chapter had plot twists and it became very predictable in my opinion. Game got worse and very unrewarding

More like a waifu/husbando collection simulator now

If you like collecting waifus and husbandos, go for it. If you want to enjoy the pvp or pve aspect more, look for another game. I have never played a more mentally draining pvp game than this. Do not believe the role advantage / disadvantage in this game. The meta gear is so strong that disadvantaged units can kill their opposing role in one shot. There is no balance. You win if you camp better than your opponent unless you are facing a rush comp, then you just make sure they can’t break your defense. You got the most recent broken awaken unit? Just play protect that unit, camp, and you win if they stay alive. Warning: DO NOT PLAY THIS GAME IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR MENTAL SANITY. Also don’t bother sending tickets to support unless it’s about spending cash on the game; they don’t care and throw your ticket in the trash. They refuse to fix any of the bugs unless most people can’t play the game. You’re one of the few who can’t play? Good luck getting them to help you. The community discord offers far more help. Don’t waste your time on this game.

Too many CRASHES!

I’ve been playing this game since the beta and I must say it has quickly became one of my favorite F2P/GATCHA game by far. I love much of what the game has to offer. However, lately I’ve been experiencing consistent crashes which is completely ruining my experience. This mostly occurs as I navigate through menus. The game would just freeze then take me back a few seconds before. You can’t even imagine how annoying this is when managing your inventory. Even when I do summons the game would freeze then take me to the menu screen. The summon still is counted for, but I wouldn’t know what I got. Also during PvP, when picking your load out it would freeze in the middle of your selection and place you at your previous load out. It’s becoming unbearable at this point. Not sure if the Counterside community ever addressed this but I hope the developers can fix this issue.

It’s actually improved

I’ve played this game since release and I will admit before it didn’t have much bad things about it but I noticed that they have become more money grubbing and yes I would recommend trying it but be careful to not spend your money on skins and extra stuff and maybe try an save for classified recruitments and studiobside I know your struggling but try to make this game a little less money grubbing and back to its original!!! Thanks for the game tho Update: the gameplay is actually a bit more hard to do and I’m on episode 9.5 I like the challenge honestly they found a way to bring me back which I enjoy lots and the fact I got a new awakened unit too soo thanks very much for the game I really enjoy it that’s why I updated it to 5 stars
