Duet Night Abyss is a visually stunning entry into the action RPG market. The movement system is what truly sets it apart—parkouring through the world feels incredibly fluid, and jumping into combat from the air is exhilarating. The 'dual protagonist' system allows for a level of tactical variety that most gacha games lack.
The production values are top-tier, with voice acting and cinematic sequences that feel like a high-budget anime. While the gacha mechanics are present, the core gameplay loop of exploring and mastering character switches is rewarding enough to keep you playing for hours. It’s a must-try for fans of Genshin Impact or Honkai: Star Rail looking for something faster-paced.
Stunning Anime Visuals
Seamless Character Switching
High-Speed Aerial Combat
Rich Fantasy World-building
Start the fight with a ranged character to build 'Abyss Meter'. Once full, switch to your melee hero to unleash a powerful Burst attack.
The world is full of 'Echo' fragments. Collecting these allows you to upgrade your characters' skills and unlock new passive abilities.
Yes, it is free to download with gacha elements for new characters and weapons.
So let me start by saying the game is amazing any fan of both anime and warframe should try the game. but for all the good things i could list everything it borrows from warframe or where it innovates on existing ideas, but instead i think its better to adress the fixable faults. Firstly balance for a new dev is quite good but some characters don’t reach the power fantasy level kit randy and some weaker damage dealers could use improvements but small problems easy to fix the bugs at least on mobile can render the game unplayable like lingering effects blocking visibility and blinding the player. however i haven’t seen many of the bugs in awhile so likely fixed and again mobile specific control size and position can’t be changed. But there’s plenty of good the ai companions while stupid are well designed, afk farming viability, absolutely no stamina, cosmetics only gacha, all characters and weapons are free are all stand out to me. however give the story time as it has converted from gacha it needs time to adapt.
Been playing for a few days now. Really pretty game has tons of potential but… many issues. First is camera. It keeps zooming in on the character when I fight or need to jump or anything really. Cant see the bad guys your even fighting?! I cant jump because I cant see what I’m trying to jump too! I went into settings and tried adjusting camera settings and it does nothing. All I see if the back of my toons head fighting blind. I use my pinch to zoom out works for a second till I swing my sword or jump its back to her head?! Please fix this. Please put an Option to have it permanently zoomed out switch. Another issue is you will be fighting on a bridge in a factory and many bad monsters zoomed into the head of the toon I end up falling off the bridge and cant get back to the bridge? There’s no unstuck character option anywhere??? It keeps restarting me in the stuck position if I kill myself. #1 game if that was fixed and the camera zoom option was available. As it is now it’s unplayable because you have to fight constantly when doing missions and i cant see what I’m doing and the toon will jump doing these fancy moves which will make you fly off a edge and get stuck lol. It’s bummer tried to go to developers site to submit issue instead of here because wanted to give chance to fix before i review it but there was no options to submit a issue on the website nor through the game itself. Hope you guys fix this so this game can really sing! Ty oh and I’ve played this on iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPad Pro both issues on both devices I’d hate to delete this it has so much potential
I played until arriving at an inn that’s describe as a “Haunted House” and here’s what I stumbled upon. I can’t play games for long periods of time on touch screen mode so I use a controller whenever I can for my hand’s sake. Unfortunately, in the current state of this game, playing with a controller is kind of a hassle. I can’t reload my gun with any of the controller buttons so I constantly had to reload in my fight because I had to empty the magazine entirely. Aiming is the same as shooting, I can’t aim before engaging in battle so I have to shoot if I want to aim. During visual novel type dialogues, I couldn’t continue the next dialogue with any of the controller’s button. It wasn’t until I hit the “Auto” button on the corner with my finger that I was able to continue the dialogue. Then I would go back to the controller only to realize that the only way to continue the dialogue was by hitting the “Auto” button. Also, in visual novel dialogue and cutscenes alike, there would be a constant ticking sound that was very annoying and would get me out of the immersion. For what I’ve seen so far, this game on PC runs pretty good on launch. Unfortunately, I can’t say the same for me in my IPad. I would love to continue playing this game since I’m a huge fan of Warframe, but if I can’t play smoothly with my controller, then I won’t be able to play for long. Hopefully in the next couple of patches, the controller experience will be better along with the dialogue experience as well. I PRAY THIS GAME CONTINUES TO DO GREAT THINGS!!! I HAVE HIGH EXPECTATIONS!
This game is a great core game. But it is an unplayable burning dumpster fire on mobile. Graphics are throttled down incredibly low even on highest settings. Mobile controls are absolutely unplayable. Somehow though controller support is even worse. Some inputs lock out other inputs (many times you’ll become unable to jump for no reason). Controller will cause the game to crash. Most insane is that tapping L2 even if accidentally locks the entire game up because an item wheel appears and noting can make it go away, blocking ALL other inputs. No fighting, no jumping, no menu access, no pausing, nothing and the devs haven’t done anything about that GAMEBREAKING issue for a month. Not even the ability to remap your own controller buttons. You can’t even access the menu to see a controller mapping screen, it doesn’t exist. It does on pc, but not on mobile. I want to love this game it has a lot good but these developers need to prioritize game breaking bugs and realize how many mobile players they have. I will HAPPILY change my review score when the game feels remotely playable on mobile with a controller. Also, they did a major patch today and now I’m locked out of the game entirely because the game recognizes that there is a new version available at log in but there is no update in the apple App Store. So many L’s
Most of these reviews are trash saying they haven’t played the game, simply saying the pictures are pretty or people who played the beta gave them the desire to rate it high. Let me tell you playing this game on mobile is simply impossible unless you have a brand new device (if that), I’m ran this off my iPad Pro gen 2 and it took 30 percent of my battery in around an hour, for reference I can play WuWa for like two to three hours before it takes that much battery. It’s poorly optimized to the point any button you press lags the entire game. Downloading the game takes a lot of time not to mention waiting 10-15 minutes just to download more data. Controls for the game is awful too, there’s no walk only run so when you try to slightly adjust your character it moves too much making fighting and aiming impossible, to climb ledges you have to jump which causes the character to either miss the jump getting up or insist of jumping instead of pulling the character up the ledge making them hit their head and fall Only reason why I didn’t rate this lower is the fact 1 it is new, 2 the models are great, 3 pretty world and landscape, 4 unique story (from what I seen) but until it doesn’t kill my batter and feel like my hands are burning from touching my tablet I’m not downloading it again
Okay I’m going to be honest the characters designs I do like and that you can get everything for free if you work hard enough however!!! This game performance is much better on pc and probably console(can’t say since it isn’t out on any of them atm)on mobile even at the lowest quality the game still struggles with frame rate the game will crash and close randomly sometimes when you use your range weapon it will not work and not fire the climbing is quite off and even when pressing jump repeatedly to climb the character just doesn’t do it sometimes next the game camera for most of the times the camera just snaps to the ceiling or the floor after falling into water or when running and even attacking the lip syncing isn’t the best but I’m sure it can improve in the future and lastly the camera aiming controls and sensitivity is quite difficult to control on mobile and with the previous camera issues i mentioned before it’s even more difficult so far these are the biggest issues on the mobile side I don’t know about pc though. P.s. I’m going to give it a 3 because I always do 3 since it’s neutral
Hi I Play on mobile and I LOVE THIS GAME. But…When using the tactical backpack via the controller-mapped button, all other inputs except movement and camera become unresponsive until the player manages to exit the screen. In addition, when the bug occurs, the map and scene ambience produce a ticking sound each time the tactical backpack is opened through that button. The on-screen tactical backpack button (accessed by holding it on the UI) behaves correctly — it opens only while held and closes when released. This makes me think the controller button mapping might not be properly triggering the “release” state or is conflicting with another UI overlay. Steps to Reproduce: Launch Duet Knight Abyss (latest build). Enter gameplay mode. Use the controller’s tactical backpack button (mapped through settings). Observe that: Only movement and camera controls still work. Other buttons are frozen or ignored. A rhythmic ticking sound occurs on the map or environment sounds while the backpack is open. Try using the on-screen tactical backpack button instead — note that it works properly. Expected Behavior: Tactical backpack should open only while the button is held and close immediately upon release, restoring all other control inputs without any sound glitch. Actual Behavior: Control lockout occurs. Audio ticking persists. Backpack button stays “latched” until exited manually Edit: Also another issue that disables jump after capturing someone in Capture Commisions
I had higher expectations for this game, unfortunately I was let down pretty hard. I was unable to even play through the entire beginning (what I assume is the tutorial quest). The controls are super janky, for some reason looking side to side is slower than looking up and down so when I look up slightly it throws my camera completely into the air. The buttons for fighting are in horrible places, I miss clicked constantly. The doge/run button placement was what really got me, I’d try to run or dodge and I’d just miss the button completely because of how small it is and its weird placement. I found the character hard to control especially with the jumping mechanic, it made me fly all over the place one main reason being the sensitivity of the camera when you turn it up and down which I mentioned before. It was also very laggy, my device doesn’t usually have problems with lag and can run games like Genshin and wuwa at 60fps without lag issues but this game made my device lag constantly despite the… underwhelming visuals. I still will attempt to play this and if my opinion changes I’ll update my review.
