English Ver New Release
Magicus is a unique and refreshing take on the Match-3 genre, blending puzzle mechanics with light RPG elements. Instead of just clearing gems for points, your matches directly control your character's actions in a battle. Matching swords attacks, matching shields defends, and matching potions heals. It turns a casual puzzle into a tactical combat encounter.
The progression feels meaningful as you upgrade your skills and equipment. The pixel-art style is charming and nostalgic, and the difficulty curve is well-tuned—forcing you to think several moves ahead to ensure you have enough defense for the enemy's next big hit. It’s a great 'bridge' game for people who find standard Match-3 too simple but don't want the complexity of a full-blown RPG.
Innovative Match-3 combat system
Charming retro pixel-art visuals
Deep RPG character progression
Challenging boss battles and diverse enemies
Don't just focus on attacking. If an enemy is about to use a powerful skill (indicated by a timer), prioritize matching shield tiles to build up your guard. Staying alive is more important than a single big hit.
Try to set up matches at the bottom of the board. This increases the chance of 'cascades'—where falling tiles create new matches automatically—giving you extra actions in a single turn.
Yes, there is a campaign that guides you through different zones and narrative encounters.
This work is amazing for the price. It is an RPG with a battle system that involves a “match 3” gem combination. There are multiple job classes (with advanced versions that you need to unlock). You craft weapons, armor, and accessories. You can then extract a skill from them (destroys the item in the process). There is fishing, lottery, and an arena. The events get repetitive, but the strategy and gameplay make up for it. And the price tag is cheap compared to the hours of fun you receive in return.
I purchased this purely off of the knowledge that this developer also created Astlibra, which is one of the most surprising and incredible games I’ve played in a while, and the aesthetics while a little outdated are incredibly charming. So buy this and also go buy astlibra. This is a developer that has a very evident passion for the things he makes and knows how to craft them incredibly well.
I am so glad I found this game. It is soo dang good. It’s one of those games that I like to say “grabs you by the face”. I can’t believe more people aren’t playing this. I absolutely love it, even with the poor translation, it’s still amazing. Great Job devs! You are awesome, I hope more people play this, I plan on telling all of my friends to get this. Thank you!!!
I downloaded this to try and fill the Astlibra sized hole I had. (Same developer, phenomenal rpg I HIGHLY recommend). I was pleasantly surpised by how addicting and complex this mobile game is! So much depth, I played for around 5 straight hours after my initial download. KEIZO is truly so talented ❤️
Personally, I haven't come into contact with this game. I have been playing ASTLIBRA, which is the best ARPG game I have played in recent years. Its plot is unforgettable, and buying games is loved and supported.
It’s really sad that this mechanically deep spiritual descendant of Puzzle Quest has been languishing undiscovered for two years. It’s even better than Hero Emblems.
A very solid and surprisingly deep offline gem matching RPG. At first seems overly simple but as the game goes on adds more depth and complexity. Great game!
Really wonderful game; a classic style rpg well worth the price. Clearly made with love. I wish more people knew about this game.
