Our Expert Score

90/100

Kinder World is less of a 'game' in the traditional sense and more of a digital sanctuary. In a market flooded with high-stress competitive games, this 'cozy' plant simulator focuses on emotional well-being and mindfulness. You grow unique plants by performing daily acts of self-care and kindness, creating a loop that rewards you for taking care of your real-world self.

The art style is incredibly soothing, with soft watercolors and gentle animations. What I love most is the community aspect—sending 'kindness messages' to other players. It’s a rare app that actually leaves you feeling better after you close it. If you’re looking for a way to manage anxiety or just want a low-pressure hobby, Kinder World is a beautiful, necessary addition to your phone.

I don’t think I’ve written an other reviews for apps before but this app deserves its time to shine. I was looking through the endless lists of self care apps but so many of them had ads and just didn’t suit what I was looking for. I find it easier to use self care apps and get the most benefit when it’s a mix of game like futures and self care. Some apps were just purely putting your symptoms in and gave you some breathing exercises and that was it. But when I found Kinder world I fell in love. I’m one of those people that starts something and then won’t follow through when it comes to apps and self care apps but I have used kinder world almost everyday and during super difficult times like being hospitalized and going through life’s difficulties. This app is so calming and peaceful and there is an activity for everyone! You can journal, do mood plants, decorate rooms, breathing exercises, and you even have the option of interacting with other players! This app also never makes you feel guilty. Wether you miss a day, or two months you can come back and your progress won’t be set back and you can start right back up! This app gets all of my love and will be installs until the end of time and I can promise that! They are always working on new updates and listen to what the community wants and needs!

this game is so calming and so simple, i love it so much. i also love how slowburn the game is, how you only have to login once to twice a day to water your plant and stuff, and you slowly unlock new plants and new things. for me personally, it helps me develop patience . it feels good when you finally unlock a new plant, or a new pot, or new furniture, after you log in to the game everyday and water the plant . i love how they take people’s criticism (and sometimes hate) to mind, and always use it to improve their game. i’ve read a lot of the reviews on this app, and they have taken all of the criticism and suggestions into account. by adding more free furniture options into the shop, adding options to buy things with dog treats instead of actual money , etc etc. the developers have proved they really care about the people who play this game, and care about their wellbeing, and opinions. that just makes the game so much better, and makes me so happy to support it and love it. for some suggestions, i love the music , the soundtrack they have, and i really hope they release the calming music they use in this game into other platforms. i’d love to listen to it while i try to fall asleep, or when id need to calm down :) i also hope they lower the prices on the pots, $5 for one pot is a bit over the top. i also hope they make EVERYTHING available to buy with dog treats, not just a few options. i understand this is a small game and they need money to keep it going, and keep improving, but i really think that including more chances to win/get dog treats, and more chances to use those dog treats in the shop will help bring more people to the app, and stay on it.

Going downhill

I’ve been playing this game since close to the beginning. I love plants, personally I don’t really care about the self help stuff, that’s not my thing. But it was a cute little game, worked my way up with dog bones to buy everything I could, and when they changed everything from spending real money to being able to buy it with dog treats, that was amazing. But of course, it came with the cost (like every app out there) of ADS ADS ADS. Some apps have really short, easy to get through ads. This app has ads that make you sit through maybe 30 seconds, then you click the tiny hard-to-see button, then it brings up the app page, you click done, then you have to wait so many more seconds until you click the last button and it’s all done. Really ridiculous. And now for a while it seems like maybe the app people are putting all their efforts and attention into their kickstarter and not this game. I’ve been trying to message in their chat about issues I’m having in the shop, and no one messages me back now. Repeat messages, no reply’s. The featured pot doesn’t update anymore when it’s supposed to, and it takes days, or more than a week, if it ever even does update. When freebies are offered in the shop, it now says I already own them, when I don’t. And I used to be able to get them even if I did already own them, and then I’d have more than one. But no more. It’d be great if these people cared about messaging the players back, but I feel like I’ve gotten the cold shoulder. Don’t know if I’ll care enough about this game to stick with it much longer.

Cute and relaxing

This is a nice app. I don't see it really as a "game" per se, since your only challenge is to water a plant and watch it grow (there's a little more to it than that... lol). The graphics are really cute, and it is a nice activity to just go tend to your plant and watch it grow. Over time you earn points (dog biscuits! 😉 The mascot of the game is a dog called Samy), and you unlock several species of plants to grow, and also several rooms you get to decorate as you wish (you can change the floors, wall papers, and display all kinds of knickknacks and flowers/plants). This is a self care app, asking you to name your emotions, breathe, express your gratitude (if you so wish). It was designed to be calming so nothing will happen to your plant if you forget to water it! 😉🫣 As the game is developing, more activities are added. There is room for improvement there and overall, but it's really easy to communicate with the developers' team and they welcome feedback! I personally find the prices of the in-app shop too high, but this is a FREE game with absolutely NO ads, which is rare these days! And you can play normally without having to spend real money. All in all, a cute app with the potential to get even better. No adrenaline rush with that one. 😁

It Has Such Potential but is Really Pay-to Play

I keep trying to “play” this game because I really want to like it. I love the positive notes, the meditative breaths, the plants are beautifully drawn and the pots are adorable. My main issue is that it’s pretty much impossible to move forward at any satisfying pace unless you pay for pretty much everything or you invite all the people you know to play the game. I’m an adult; I don’t have a bunch of friends who want to play games like this nor do I want to spend my hard earned money on trinkets in a game if I don’t feel like it’s going to be worthwhile. Also, apparently you’re supposed to be able to water your plant twice a day, but so far I’ve only gotten that to work about twice in as many weeks. How about we put in mini games or check ins that allow the player to collect dog bone treats a bit faster than a snail’s pace? If community is what this game is about (which I love, by the way), how about putting access in for social interaction between all players and not just recruited ones? That feels a little like a pyramid scheme to me. Another option are free/low cost (treat, not irl money) decorations that give you treats every so often. Many ideas can make this game really extraordinary to play! Instead, it just kind of feels like everything sits behind a pay wall. I’m looking forward to the changes!

Best app ever!!!

I never write reviews for apps, but I needed to write one for this. I have never really been able to keep up with games where you need to take care of stuff, but I have absolutely fallen in love with this app. Not only is it rewarding to care for my plants because I get to see them grow and earn rewards for that—I also get to see the growth in myself from just playing this game for about two weeks. All the little activities are so useful like the breathing, emotional naming, and gratitude. I look forward to when I can water my plant so I can get a little break from the chaos of the outside world. The app is peaceful and calming, and also has super cute illustrations and gameplay. I love that the main character is non-binary because it makes me, a trans man, feel a little bit more at home in my virtual home. If you’re thinking about getting this app, don’t hesitate to hit the install button. I promise you won’t regret it!!! Thank you to the team who created this amazing app. You’ve created something beautiful and I am so grateful for the changes it has helped me make.

A slow and calm paced game

It’s a cute game that have you to take care of plants by watering them without worrying that they’ll die out. It’s set up in a way that even if you don’t feel like or forget to play even for a day, they won’t wilt, so no pressure! It’s a game that also makes me feel a little less alone about my struggles with my mental health and other things in life. The rooms and things you get from achieving goals for your plants gets you decor for the rooms of your house, plus you can get different designed pots for the plants you grow that could be exchanged for either a small fee or for dog biscuits, an in-game currency you receive whenever you water your plants or if you buy some. As for room for improvement, perhaps we could have more characters to interact with and maybe more of a story so it’s more immersive. I’m aware that tufts going to be another area that will be added soon, but hopefully we’ll see more overtime! I’d also like to see more ways of helping with mental health, like other methods aside from the ones that we already have. It doesn’t have to be just when we water the plants either. It could be in a different area outside the house too. Overall, keep up the good work and I look forward to more in the future ☺️

Has helped to change my life!

I’m a recovering addict and a gardener and this little app has become a huge part of my recovery. Coming in here twice a day to water my little plant and watch it grow because of the little enrichment exercises has encouraged me to do them every day and make them part of my routine. I love the emotional naming too, especially in stressful situations. I often will send my mother, who also got this app, the cute little affirmations that show up in the hanging photos on the mirror. Best of all is the lack of advertising and annoying alerts. I tend to associate ads with negativity and stress so not having them or feeling pressured to do anything beyond just water my little Deli twice a day is huge. The little room decor is nice and I like making up my space, even if I spend more time with just the plant itself. I think I will invest in some paid pots just to thank the developers for this wonderful app. If you want to add a little positivity to your life, get this app! You won’t regret it!
