- Some minor bug fixes
Playing this game has honestly been one of the best gaming experiences I’ve had with a mobile game. The deck building feels really good, very little of the game is locked behind a paywall and even the stuff that is locked behind a paywall, it’s not like it’s pay to win or anything. The only things you can buy are cosmetics and card packs. Card packs you can earn at a reasonable pace just from doing daily missions. The 5 major powers all feel unique and fun to play with. They nail the 5 main deck types with the 5 major powers: America is great for making really satisfying ramp up decks, Britain has some incredible options for a control deck, Germany has really fun synergy mechanics etc. Not only that but you can mix and match the different factions, plus 4 minor factions, to your hearts content to create entirely unique decks. I faced one guy who had an American/German deck that was literally all tanks. The fact you can even do that is what makes this game worth playing. Incredibly fun game. I honestly don’t have anything negative to say about it
When you read this please understand how much I appreciate the effort, time and creativity that goes into this game. As a content creator I try to never judge the value of creative works and games as each platform and publication means different expenses. But this one, this one is steep! You own nothing. You collect virtual art in a virtual world. If they chose to change the cards yours are removed from play even though they can alter texts and just all reset the mechanics to be more balanced. For instance, with spending and winning you get milestone rewards. One of them is rare wild cards that you can use to make a card you are missing. So you work hard for these. Then you make one, use the reward and they then announce the card you made is being removed. Then give me back my wildcard to make something that’s still allowed for play. Why am I being penalized for your bad mechanics. Thats a problem. Also, there are waaay to many troll players who are under ranked and baiting play. The community, like so many online communities is not great. And while they limit the conversation it becomes very clear who the problems are and who aren’t. That all being said. The game ia very good and a lot of fun just make sure to understand that at point are YOU in control. They hold all the cards and all you can do is swipe your credit card to keep playing or wash out.
To be honest the graphics are phenomenal. The interactive boards are really cool. Authenticity is top notch. Otherwise so many things make this game unbearable to play. The diamonds are absurdly expensive to buy. Definitely not worth the money for what you get. This game is an absolute hackers paradise. Ranked games system is a joke. Prepare to spend a fortune like some of the other losers that pay for their wins if you want to make any kind of dent. OR…You can just use some of the same lame decks that 80% of the players use over and over because they know the card balancing is garbage and basically secures a win. A player can literally win with 1 card on the table. How is that justifiable?? How about better limitations on the number of certain cards to make it more fair? Such as the dbags that use tons of Commandos with smokescreen and just play orders the whole time. Or allowing for multiple Manhattan projects to be played. Or having some orders that just allow players to keep drawing card after card. You guys actually sat in a room and thought this was the way to go? Lol. Just more frustrating than fun to play this. I really wanted to keep playing this game as a huge WW2 buff but the devs just botched it horribly. Anyone that says it’s ’great’ or the ‘best game they’ve ever played’…. All I can do is laugh. Much better out there and more enjoyable to play.
Playing this game feels like willingly acting as Sisyphus playing again and again against a Japanese deck. There is no winning against a Japanese deck and they are far more overpowered than any historical basis can justify. All there units cost nothing. Now I am not a bad player, but because I’m not a meta troll who decides to que up as Japan and overuse the same 15 Kards I see out of every players deck means that I will never win. I challenge the developers to play the game they rigged. If you would like a semi dramatic description of my last match here it goes: Japan player deploys 1 cost zero operation cost blitz card with a destruction condition. Enemy deploys 2 cost artillery with 3 attack, making it impossible for any unit I have to survive past deployment. I deploy a couple units. A few turns later Japan player plays at least 10 cards in a turn and all my units are destroyed and none of his have taken any damage. Playing against a Japanese deck is less of a battle and more of a war crime on the receiving end. I can’t wait for the Geneva convention faction update, but knowing the Japanese decks there will probably be a card added that all effects of the cards will be ignored just like in the real war shortly before they lost. Too bad that they will never lose in this card game. Please for the love of all casual fun make this game balanced.
I really enjoy the aesthetic of the game. The game also is quite approachable, and does not have what I would call a paywall. I have been playing for 7 days now, and only spent 1.99 on a promotional offer. I feel this game is worth at least that. Despite being essentially a free-to-play player, I do not feel as though any of the decks I have faced, even ones with many many more rare cards than mine, are unbeatable. If I face a certain deck type frequently, I build a deck with counter and alternate win conditions, all with what I have opened and the 3 packs from the promotion. The one downside is that you have to sink a fairly hefty 2-3 hours in each country before you unlock the free decks. That being said, the payoff is generally nice. The free decks give you 10-15 new cards, sometimes more, that help expand your deck building options, and are well worth the effort. Overall, a good experience with generally shorter game times, usually 10 or fewer mins, maybe 20 on long matches. Would recommend.
This game is easily one of my favorite card games yet. This game is while extremely complicated to memorize cards it’s surprisingly simply to play once you give it a second and simply find what you like and stick to it. Number one best thing? No pay to win. Everyone has access to the same cards you simply have to invest a bit of time into getting them. I’m at the time of writing this a lvl 22 Soviet player and I haven’t spent a dime yet I’m on a win streak of 17. Being a history nerd too this game is unsurprisingly accurate with everything. Overall this game is great to pick up and enjoy with a casual ‘come back when your bored’ style that doesn’t require constant attention or care to advance pretty quickly my only complaint is that the packs are a bit expensive both money wise and free in game currency wise but even then you get enough wild cards to get the cards you want anyway.
I have been an avid player of the trading card game Magic: The Gathering—both in person and digitally—and I find this game to be a nice refreshing take on that formula. All cards are based on real-world soldiers, technologies, and concepts from WWII, and every card has a small section explaining the history behind the card. Gameplay wise, card synergies are simple. They don’t require extremely specific card combos to win or be successful. The limit of 2 (or 4 if you include Exile cards) countries per deck prevents decks loaded with overwhelmingly overpowered cards. Speaking of, there are overpowered cards, but usually they are restricted to endgame or high-production decks. If you do consider putting money into the game, it will obviously present a better experience, but it is easily played without. My only gripe is that, being a MTG player, I love collecting cards and building new decks, and getting new cards in this game is extremely slow once you level up your countries. Honestly, this would be a great game to be made into a REAL TTCG…
I’m very happy with this download. This game is a lot of fun to master, and the best part is no forced ads. The campaign alone offers hours of great gameplay (for a mobile game, do not necessarily recommend you sink a lot of time into this) I have been playing for about three days and am not at all bored yet, which might sound bad but for me that is pretty good with mobile games. The only reason this review is four stars is that if you lock your phone with the app running, even in the single player campaign against AI, if you leave it for more than ten minutes or so you will be disconnected and lose all of your progress in that match. I find it strange that the single-player portion of the game isn’t run on the client side, and if it is then why does it do this? To get around the issue I just leave my phone on in my pocket, but this wastes battery life and could use a fix. Overall though, great game and highly recommend!
