Our Expert Score

84/100

Sony has managed to capture the lightning in a bottle that is the Jeopardy! experience and put it right in your pocket. Jeopardy! World Tour feels authentic, thanks in no small part to the presence of Alex Trebek and the iconic theme music. The 'World Tour' framing is a clever way to implement a progression system, taking you from Los Angeles to London and beyond as you prove your trivia mettle.

The clue variety is staggering, and the difficulty feels just right—accessible enough for casual fans but with plenty of 'Daily Double' moments that will stump even seasoned trivia buffs. The Power-Ups add a modern mobile gaming twist that keeps things fresh, though purists can still enjoy the core 'answer-in-the-form-of-a-question' gameplay. It's the best way to live out your game show dreams without the stage fright.

Update: we love playing but the categories are redundant. When will the categories be updated and more random? My parents are elderly. Dad is 85, Mom will be 84 in September. Me and my 2 sisters (and random other family members depending on the time/day) visit my parents every Sunday. We have lunch and then we clean up and do whatever. Then my Dad sits down in his chair and says, “Okay, I’m ready”. I cannot tell you how long we’ve been playing this game. Regardless, this game has been a Godsend!!!! First and foremost it stimulates and re-engages my parents’ brains and thought processes. They forget a lot more of day-to-day things, but I swear, this “game”? God sent! They are so smart, makes us kids (ages +50) look like dummies! There have been a few wrong things with the answers and spelling within the game, but I tell you, as much as my folks look forward to Sunday visits, they REALLY look forward to playing this game. (I couldn’t go a couple of weeks ago and they told my sisters to be sure t bring their iPads so they could play without me.) Lastly, this game has brought family together! Even when the grands and great grands visit, we still play Jeopardy (if they don’t want to play, they are excused from the room....seriously!) Thank you to whomever created this game. You have NO idea what a positive impact this has had on my parents lives and the lives of our whole family. It has truly become a weekly ritual. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I had to add to my previous 5 star rating....

I wrote this review some time back: "Very fun and also frustrating, but in a good competitive way!".......this is still very true, this is a fun game that engages your brain and I'm a little obsessed with it. However I wish I could add an additional 5 stars for the EXCELLENT customer service!! I've never experienced a game/app where there was such amazing customer service. I ask questions and there is a response by the next day, if not within hours. These folks have explained different things to me very well and have personality when answering my dumb questions and concerns. It's so rare to find excellent customer service in almost any area - but I have found especially in the world of apps....not the case here. These people are great. Just had to share..... Also - in general response to others' negative reviews.....you can figure out how to play more strategically to enhance your play, and a little patience goes a long way...for example - I'm currently at the level where there is $320k every 4 hrs. I always have my phone on me - so throughout the day, when working even, when I think of it I'll open the app and claim my $. It takes 5 seconds. So often by the time the late evening rolls around and I want to play for a little bit I'll usually have nearly a million at least. Playing a few games at the $320k amount will also win you nearly a million at times if you can just win one game. Now - I don't always win, but I almost always win/gain enough ground in the daily goals etc to keep playing for a long time. And when I lose it's because I bet all my money and then hit the answer wrong. Lol. Hard to blame anyone else for that particular strategy!

They never fix problems

I’ve been playing Jeopardy now for several years. I was the leader of a team, but I quit the team because I feel your games are all predetermined and fake. Here’s why I feel they are predetermined and fake: 1. In all the years that I’ve been playing, not once have I been notified that I have been in a random game versus someone else. Why is that? One would think that maybe even once over the past several years I would have known I was randomly chosen to play in a game? I feel all games are similar. Predetermined and fake. People don’t even know they’re playing because they’re NOT! Your computer is playing for them. 2. Another reason that your games are predetermined and fake. Why is it that in Final Jeopardy, the person in the lead NEVER gets a wrong answer and COULD lose, except ME!! 3. About a year or two ago, for about one week, I never lost a game and my winnings went up many many millions!! How could that happen unless the games are predetermined and fake. Also, whoever I contact you via email I’m always asked to send a screenshot!! But nothing ever happens to fix anything. For example, virtually ever other screen while I’m in the App, I keep getting this “oops something went wrong “ when nothing did. This has been happening for over a year. Not fixed. Fix these issues once and for all and do the games like Words with Friends. LIVE GAMES. That’s the only way we the players will know that there are no shenanigans going on.

Game could be great, but....

I'm a big trivia nerd and watch Jeopardy every single day, so I thought this game would be great. It has potential, but falls short of what it could be. For one, I wish it played more like the real game and instead of points converting into money, you simply played for money. It's hard to know what your points convert to in dollars. And it's absolutely absurd that you can win the entire game and not even break even with how much you paid to play. I understand that the more points you have, the more money you get, but there shouldn't be a situation where you win and don't cover your cost of playing, that's just dumb and clearly trying to get you to have to pay in order to keep playing. I've also only been playing for a couple of weeks now (Level 12) but am already getting a lot of repeat questions. Clearly too, you aren't playing against real people but rather the computer as it never works out that "they" don't make it to the final Jeopardy round - they always manage to eek out some points at the end, even getting more than one double jeopardy in a round when I've always only gotten one at most. The game is just ok. The developers could make some improvements to make so much better and not have players feel like they're just trying to make us pay for being able to play. I'd rather pay a set fee to "buy" the game then have it nickel and dime me along the way.

Don’t give any money to this game, it’s just a scam.

I enjoy the challenging questions and gameplay of this game more than any other mobile trivia game I’ve tried. However, it’s virtually impossible to advance or even do well in this game without spending actual money because it is too difficult to raise enough in-game money to actually play more than once a day. Only rarely do you win more money in a game than you pay to play it. I could win 10 games in a row (which would already be very hard to do), and even then I would have less money than when I started, because if you pay $5000 to pay you will likely only “win” ~$4500. So now I have to raise $80,000 to play a single game on the level that I’ve reached, but if I don’t win I probably won’t be able to play that level again for several days because I have to wait for my bank to fill back up. So disheartening to lose the whole bank that you’ve saved up for days in a matter of 3 minutes. This game is set up for everyone to lose constantly, in one way or another. I know Jeopardy is based on wagering, so there should always be an element of risk, but this feels almost predatory when I just want to play trivia for fun. Changed my review from 2 stars to 1 when I read more reviews and realized that everyone already agrees with me. This developer is downright dirty for not changing something that so many people have complained about for YEARS.

I like it but…

I really like watching/playing along with Jeopardy. So when I downloaded the app, I thought it’d be like the show. It is in some ways and it isn’t in others.. it’s the same as far as the funny category names, questions, and having two competitors. But it’s different because there are only multiple choice questions (you can’t type an answer), you don’t have to wait for your competitor’s response (which, to me, is a plus), and you don’t have to beat someone to press your buzzer to answer. The graphics are good and it’s fun that you get to go to different virtual locations and play Jeopardy. One of the things I didn’t like about this app was that you have to earn “cash” and pay at least 5k of it to play a game. That makes it very hard to play. You earn at least 12k dollars if you win a game so if you’re good at it, you get your money back and more. But.. if you’re not so great at it (like me) then you have to wait to get more cash to play again. You get payed by watching adds, actually buying money (by the way, the prices are crazy), or waiting to earn cash (you get one dollar every couple seconds). Anyway I really like this game because it’s fun to play when you’re bored, but the major and minor problems I have with it make it kind of hard to enjoy.

So overall I love trivia games, love Jeopardy, so this seemed like a great game. Overall the questions are pretty good but I do agree with many who said there is an overabundance of sports categories which is NOT representative of the actual show. There are many other very valid complaints on these reviews (too hard to earn bars or money and especially gems. If ANYONE has received the gem daily goal please tell me how many hours you must have played!) so I will not focus on those. My patience is pretty great for apps as it is what I use to relax and unwind. Most are probably like me. Don’t mind spending a small amount for a game you really like if the reward is there. Here is where the developers are missing the boat IMHO especially for the latest update. The answering of only 5 questions per round baffles me. What is the harm in allowing the player to play them all? With all the complaints about how hard it is to earn stuff I thought the developers had taken this into account. More daily and weekly goals appeared (ones that were actually attainable) and there seemed to be a good assortment. Good thing I didn’t get too attached because POOF! We are back down to only three (well two). Meaning not enough money and bars, meaning unable to play, meaning unhappy player. These are trivia buffs guys. They want to actually get to play without having to constantly worry about needing to spend real money just to get their daily Trivia fix. We are very easy to please: more questions and more rewards that allow us to play!

it’s my first playing in online game and I watched Jeopardy understand every night on TV I love Jeopardy! however this game is so hard to understand there’s not enough directions on how to play it I have no clue about the points in dollars and know when you’re playing against somebody you’re not and yeah I have never played any game online but I’ll tell you this one just makes no sense to me I just enjoy being able to answer questions correctly makes me feel smart feels good if ever I can raise my status but I have no idea how to win more or raise my points more just isn’t clear there’s not enough direction. And capital letters don’t biggest thing I noticed is on final Jeopardy there’s absolutely no time to both read the question and think about it and answer compared to the TV program the amount of time you have to answer is half and I feel like that’s completely unrealistic and unfair to the player I’ve enjoyed playing but I don’t know how much longer will it needs to be set up differently needs to be a lot more user-friendly and I was shocked to know that you were asked actually asking for more money in order to play more I didn’t realize games operated that way otherwise it’s fun to have jeopardy and playing sometimes I just wish I knew more about how to play itIt definitely is not explained well at all from start to finish how to play thank you
