Thank you for playing If Found...
This version includes performance improvements and bug fixes.
If Found is a breathtaking, emotional journey that uses the simple act of 'erasing' to tell a deeply personal story. It follows Kasio, a young trans woman returning to her home in Ireland. The mechanic of literally rubbing the screen to erase sketches, diary entries, and memories is a stroke of genius—it feels like you are actively participating in Kasio’s processing of her past.
The art style is raw and beautiful, and the writing is hauntingly evocative. It handles themes of identity, family, and connection with a delicacy that few games achieve. This isn't just a visual novel; it’s an interactive piece of art that stays with you long after the final page is erased. It is, quite simply, one of the best stories ever told on a mobile screen.
Stunning hand-drawn art style
Deeply emotional storytelling
Unique interactive mechanics
Award-winning narrative
Use your finger to swipe across the screen and erase the drawings. This progresses the story and reveals new text or images beneath the surface.
The game follows a linear narrative. Focus on the rhythm of the erasing; some scenes require slow, deliberate movement, while others encourage frantic clearing to match the emotional tone.
A full playthrough typically takes about 2 to 3 hours.
this game made me cry, made me happy and made cry more. it’s so amazing and touching, the way you uncover everything- it’s read so smoothly and it’s written so beautifully. It felt like I was in the story with them. I can’t express how much this has changed my perspective on things in life. It’s incredible. It just keeps unraveling in every step of the way, I played it non stop. I hope others get to experience the joy of playing this game, it’s so relatable to me, and that’s what has made it change my life too, it’s so comforting. Please buy this game, 10/10
"If found" was nominated for "games for impact" award this year so I was intrigued. Unfortunatelly at it's core it appeared to be just a generic teenage drama. Transgender theme was for advertisement only and never explored below surface level. You can swap the main character with any cis-gendered teenage girl or boy and the story would make the same amount of sense. Gameplay mechanics of erasing words was interesting for 5 minutes, but then got boring. It could have had real significance like healing character traumas or branching the story. Instead it's just a realy tedios way to move forward in a linear fashion. Finally a few words about art: visually "If found" is just a collection of doodles. It's not in the same league as Gris and is rather forgettable. The same case being with music and sound effects.
A really wholesome stylish gay lil 2 hour narrative game from an Irish team. If anyone’s played Florence, it reminded me a lot of that. The gameplay is pretty much just interacting with the art and narrative using the touch screen of your phone, and the story was really lovely albeit a bit too heavy at times. Bittersweet relationships with home, connecting with all the other gay little misfits, and finding freedom in queerness. It all hit close to home and I cried like a bebé. Anywho its really pretty game and if you ever wanna emotionally wring yourself out like a sponge I’d definitely recommend it.
This is a lovely story unfolding through a unique mechanism of gradually erasing a diary, in which many passages had been crossed out. It conveys the difficult cross-currents experienced by a young trans woman coming to terms with family and childhood friends in a touching and relatable manner. In one respect, the process of erasure seems like a letting-go of the past, making way for what will come - and indeed it’s the only way you can progress with the story. Well done!
I played on iPad. iPad was cool because there is an eraser mechanic to the game and the touch screen made for a nice tactile effect. It took me about 4 or 5 hours to finish, but I tend to go slow and savor games like this. Most people would finish more quickly. The story follows a trans girl who is home from college for winter break in a very small Irish town. The art is super colorful and beautiful, if in a minimalist way. The story is mostly sad and somewhat ethereal. There are some abstract moments parsed between a fairly straightforward narrative. There’s also wonderful music throughout. Mostly electronic music and ambient sounds. The music adds a lot of flavor to the story and was definitely a soundtrack rather than just background filler. I loved this “game”!
… but very beautiful. The story is really touching and human. Visually and musically it’s striking. I did get a bit tired of the main mechanic to move the story forward (wiping the screen clean with your finger), since my finger would literally get tired. There was a side plot that I didn’t really get why it was important to the main plot, but maybe I just missed something there.
Masterpiece of a game. Cannot express how happy I was to pick up this game, and finish it in 3-4 hours. The entire time I was hooked, wanting more and more. The concept that you erase someone’s memories in a diary is a absolutely crazy new idea of a visual novel, something that’s never been done before. Executed perfectly. The black hole part kinda confused me, after what happened and all, but, the game gets a 5/5.
Really enjoyed this. It plays similar to a free flowing visual novel without defined screens, where you use an eraser to advance the story. The characters felt very personal and the struggles they went through felt real. I didn’t understand the black hole part of the story, but I was glued to the screen for everything else. Highly reccommended.
