87/100

He-Man: MOTU Battle for Eternia is a glorious love letter to fans of the original 80s series. It perfectly captures that specific aesthetic—bold colors, chunky character designs, and over-the-top heroic energy. But it’s not just a nostalgia trip; the combat is genuinely fun. Playing as He-Man feels appropriately powerful, and the way the 'Power Sword' interacts with the environment to solve puzzles is very clever.

The 3D world is surprisingly large and filled with fanservice. Walking into the throne room of Castle Grayskull for the first time is a 'wow' moment for any MOTU fan. The RPG elements are deep enough to keep you interested—gathering shards to upgrade Teela's agility or Man-At-Arms' gadgets provides a satisfying loop. It’s an action-packed, high-production-value game that makes you feel like you’re actually inside a Saturday morning cartoon. By the Power of Grayskull, this is a great game!

It’s got the best most worth it prices that I might even just go for it with $20 only $5 is needed for the battle pass! That’s crazy and not to mention you can get free stuff without paying but dude that’s amazing pricing! Marvel snap has it for ten dollars plus this card game hasn’t crashed on me at all so far! And great quality! You just can’t beat that!

Not Quite Masterful

Why is the Kevin Smith Skeletor teaming up with 1980s He-Man to fight a pair of identical Teelas in the Crystal Sea? Who cares? This CCG doesn’t bring anything new to the table, except the theme. But it offers a lot of different strategies, gives away a lot of cards and doesn’t seem pay-to-win. On the downside, it lacks a lot of typical features, like the ability to play with friends or a one-player campaign. Some of the feaures aren’t explained well, either, like crafting cards or why so many high-ranked players show up as level 0. And the UI needs helps… your cards can cover up how much Power you have, and the figures wandering the field obscure cards in play. None of these are deal-killers, but stand in the way of a perfect game.

Good concept

Gameplay feels good. Deck building feels weird to me. I think most people, when building a deck, would go through their collection and add all cards they feel would help with whatever deck they plan on building and then subtract to 30. Atm, you can only add max 30 and can’t go past that. So you have to subtract to add. Hard to look at all cards you selected together. Easier to see how cards can work together if you can see all the cards you might want to use, not just 30 at a time. Needs some sort of campaign as well. Lastly, how can I change my name in game? That would be nice

Fun but buggy

The game is fun and the actual gameplay seems to go smoothly. However the problems come in convenience breaking issues or weird bugs. When you start a match with and opponent it always says your opponent is level 1. Not accurate The claim daily/weekly prizes always shows that I have prizes to claim The app logs me out at least once a day The season remaining days went from 8 days to 27 days In less than 12 hours. Opening packs takes way too long. Especially when you’ve bought multiple. There needs to be a bulk open option or a skip animation setting. Season awards are ambiguous (I’m currently in legendary tier and have monies what I’m going to win) and the fact that the season length suddenly jumped up 20 days makes me Think that there are no awards. The actual gameplay is fun. But all of these little bugs will drive me and others away if not addressed.

Disappointing

I love He-Man, and loved a new game. I love seeing all the different styles of characters over the years. The game is glitchy and slow, the randomization of cards is beyond frustrating there is definitely games you are intended to lose. Also if you start winning your opponent can sit let the clock run 60sec never playing just dragging the game out play after play. Has tons of potential but major disappointment. Also if you play back to back you will play the same player up to 4 times in row. Just expected way more

Cool but has some bugs

Little dudes kinda just wander around and shoot in random directions. Get stuck looking at one card when trying to zoom in on others. Game is fun though reminds me of early hearthstone

Another predatory game

Just another MTX monster trying to squeeze money from fans, forces you to spend for PREMIUM PACKS that have exclusive cards you can never earn otherwise no openly disclosed probability ratings on pulls it doesn’t even disclose what cards are in the packs probably to cover lack of actual content. Gameplay is jittery frame skips for a card game the entire UI is just painful to use. Don’t know how long it’s been officially released but looking at the update notes 9 months and it still looks and feels bad.

Simple game, whack balance

Good enough game with decent mechanics, it’s basically 40k warpforged if you’re familiar with that, but the balance is just way off, there are multiple cards that more or less just win you the game, and they don’t counteract each other at all so it can feel less like a strategy game and more like a race to a game ending card. Which can still be fun but I doubt it’s what they intended.
