The Goodville Team
Goodville: Farm Game Adventure is a refreshing departure from the standard 'farming sim' formula. While it has all the satisfying mechanics of planting crops and raising animals, it integrates a mental health and emotional well-being component that feels genuinely helpful. Collaborating with organizations like the WHO to provide interactive content about lifestyle and stress management makes this more than just a game—it’s a wellness tool.
The characters, like Jane and Florence, are well-written and provide a narrative hook that keeps you moving through the farm's renovation. The 'tests' that monitor your cognitive condition are integrated smoothly, making them feel like a natural part of the world rather than a clinical intrusion. It’s a beautiful, wholesome experience that manages to be both fun and emotionally supportive.
Farming sim with animal care and crop harvesting
Mental health content developed with psychologists
Engaging narrative with vivid characters
Interactive expeditions and hidden secrets
Pay attention to the psychological tests offered by Florence. Completing these not only helps you track your real-world mood but also rewards you with essential items for farm renovation.
Focus on fulfilling orders from the neighborhood first. This is the fastest way to gain the resources needed for the 'Expeditions,' which unlock new story segments and areas to explore.
Goodville includes scientifically-backed interactive content aimed at improving emotional well-being and lifestyle awareness alongside standard farming gameplay.
I’ve been playing this game for about a week now and I can say I enjoy playing the game quite a bit. I love the daily talks you can have to help improve your emotional well-being. It’s very easy to grow crops if you have the right amount of coins and there is even a building that you can make energy with (although it’s harder to get all the resources for the higher energy boosts). Production of goods is super fast about 10 seconds per item. However there are some downsides, I’ve noticed recently the game keeps telling me to take a test but when i click on the heart it won’t let me take any tests only shows me the basics, with that I have an annoying blue bar above one of the building that if there is something behind i want to get rid of it’s hard to reach because of the bar telling me to take a test i can’t take. The energy is also very poorly done most obstacles take 20+ energy and you only have 50 it runs out way too fast. It’s hard to enjoy the game while you’re constantly trying to gain more energy. I love the game but it frustrates me that i can’t take the tests when it is telling me to and how difficult it is to gain energy.
I’ve been playing this game since February and it was a nice escape from every thing going on in the world. I even subscribed to the weekly gem/Ruby subscription. Then Tuesday 7/11 came and they updated the game, essentially breaking an easy way to get more energy - which is what you need in the game to actually play. There is an order board that would count down to the hour and if you waited till five or so minutes before the top of the hour you could use hourglasses earned in the game to refresh the board until you got orders you wanted to complete and or orders that gave you energy or gems. This was not a cheat, it was just a helpful part of the game that the developers knew about and with their update on 7/11 they took this helpful part of tut game away. They know how upset it made us and made up an excuse for why they did it. That’s when I cancelled my subscription as clearly they want us to spend more real money to buy more hourglasses as it now takes many more hourglasses to refresh the board than it did before the update which reinforces why they did it in the first place. I didn’t mind supporting this game because they seemed like a small reputable company. I didn’t mind clicking on ads whenever they were available and getting my friends to play, but now it’s not the same. I don’t even want to think about what they will break next so don’t bother getting attached to this game like I did as they will just disappoint you with the next update.
This is a very well thought game and it is very engaging especially with the story lines and all the things you can be doing in the game. But be warned that this is an energy system game. This means that for you to expand your land access in the game you need energy to clear rocks, stones, trees etc. one thing I am extremely liking is the fact that this game does not have levels. Most games have the level 1,2,3 and so forth. This game is about expanding land and that’s how you judge your growth, which I didn’t previously know I liked. A strong note of warning, the energy within the game is designed to run out and have find ways to replenish or wait till you get energy restored. The game is set to stop at 50 energy points and you can get in-game rewards or food to increase the 50. The game also has a farming component to it and also order board delivery which don’t need energy points. This is where strategy comes in. When you run out of energy and it will take a while to replenish then you farm and make money until you can explore for a short time and go farm for more time than you can explore. All games have a point where it slows down and each level up requires a longer time to accomplish. It’s that way so that you can play for a long time to come. All in all I love this game but it’s because I am accepting of drudgery that comes with it. It’s an okay trade off to play it.
Like one of the pervious reviews, I have a hard time moving forward. I really love this game and would’ve given it a 5 star rating. However they send you around in circles. I need resources to upgrade my buildings in the improvement tree. I need to upgrade a building to get iron products, but can’t upgrade the building without the iron products. I need wool to upgrade a building but can’t upgrade because i don’t have a sheep and can’t find where to get one. I need a greenhouse to grow tomatoes but there isn’t one on the improvement tree to build or I can’t find anywhere I can get a greenhouse. Without the tomatoes there are many times I can’t sell and clear the board. I have needed a sheep to make rope and thread. Need rope to fix the pier or upgrade buildings. I need iron products to fix the car so I can go on adventures, but can’t because I can’t get them. Ive even invested at least $30-$50 in hopes of finding one. I have never spent money on a game. There is no Q&A, direction, or guidance as how to accomplish these things on the game app. I know the developers have said to email support. Ive done that, but for some reason I can’t get one to them. It says it is an error. They have made it such a hassle. Don’t get involved with this game or spend money on it unless you want these frustrations and headaches. If these things change and I can get past these barriers I’ll change my review. Until then this is what they get.
First I love the game, I play all the time. I wanted to rate it 5/5, but there are somethings in the game that become very annoying. I like to play this game all day if possible on days I have the time to. That almost becomes impossible because when you run out of energy, money, gems, diamonds there are WAY too many ads for rewards. I think we should receive more gems and energy and use less when clearing areas. Then when you watch an ad for gems it gives you one gem. We should be able to buy keys in a different way because there aren’t alot of people that play do adding friends to get keys get annoying. Then you guys want us to BUY EVERYTHING. UNFAIR! The store should have more items to purchase then what is given in the game. As far as animals, buying gems, buying energy, buying keys, diamonds etc. There should be more animals, characters, crops etc more things to build on the farm to decorate it. More farm like things to create. When it comes to the order board, and horse racing, we should be given the options to decline an order if we aren’t able to get them due to lack of resources. If we are given a choice to decline we should be given like a 2-5 minute wait time for the next order to become available. There isn’t enough energy to keep exploring fully. That gets frustrating.
I have to redo the review below and make it a 5 star. Have learned a big thing I didn’t realize in the beginning - every place you go to, make sure you get all the resources you can get there, don’t leave any behind like I did in the beginning, that made me get stuck for a pretty long time. Still think some of the tasks need a bit too much but that does make you work for it. Am totally addicted to this game. Loved the game when I started but am about done with it. It is impossible to move forward without being able to get what you need. Iron for example, been needing it for days now and only get one now and then. Tells me I need to look for it in new places, well I can’t go to a new place until I do what needs done but can’t do that because I don’t have the resources. Again, the concept is great but am about done it is boring to go back for about 10 seconds to see if it will give me a piece of iron and then have to wait again. Not even to mention the larger items you need to do things like the paddock, not a chance to finish that in the next 3 months or so.
This is a great game. awesome to pass the time especially when you have down time at work ( i do when we hit a dead period and my officers are all busy doing reports and we don’t have any calls or emergencies coming in). The few cons to this game though is it’s hard to gain and keep energy. The CONSTANT dialogue with the same characters can get seriously annoying. There No break from it. It would be nice to able to complete a quest from a character and them not show immediately with another one. it would also be nice to be able to work on resorting the farm more rather than constantly having to focus on adventures as well. they are fun but also takes away from building your farm. It would be nice to also have a way to earn MORE energy other than just completing a few board orders and opening chests. Also the WHO character what does she honestly bring to the game? in my opinion she’s a nuisance. go away. you do not belong on a farm….. it would also be nice to have a store where we can BUY our machines, animals and fields from too. over all the game is great. just has some flaws too it.
I’ve been playing this game for a few weeks now and quickly got hooked because it was a lot of fun with good storylines. Then after the most recent update the game went off the rails. Most games require you to watch a fair amount of ads to gain energy or other perks so I expect that. Post update though, you watch the ad all the way through and then it crashes so you rarely get a reward. Since you’re not provided with much energy to start with, it’s completely ridiculous that this has not been fixed and there doesn’t seem to be comments from the developers. The game is pretty much unplayable because after a couple of minutes you run out of energy unless you want to spend an insane amount of real cash. Uh, no thanks, I’m not going to give my money to a game with this many bugs. They could learn a lesson from an excellent game like Love Nikki. When that game has issues preventing players from redeeming prizes due to a coding bug, they just give you what you would have earned on a daily basis until the error is corrected. I’ll change my rating if there is an improvement but since this has been going on for days now, I’m not going to hold my breath. It’s more likely I’ll just forget about the game and look for something similar.
