FarmVille 3 is a breath of fresh air for the franchise. The biggest change is the focus on animals rather than just crops, which makes the farm feel so much more alive. Each animal breed has specific products they provide, and the breeding mechanic—seeing the stork deliver a new baby animal—is genuinely cute. The graphics are a huge step up; everything is rendered in beautiful 3D, and the farmhands you hire have real personality.
The gameplay loop is very satisfying. You’re constantly unlocking new breeds, from common cows to exotic reindeer. It manages to capture that classic FarmVille charm while modernizing the mechanics to feel less like a chore and more like a creative project. There’s a lot of depth in how you layout your farm to be efficient. For anyone who loves management sims or grew up with the original, this is the definitive version of the farm-life fantasy.
Breed and raise over 150 types of animals
Hire and level up Farmhands with unique abilities
Fully customizable farm layout and decorations
Dynamic weather that affects your crops and animals
Social features to trade and visit friends' farms

The key to progress is breeding! When you have two animals of the same breed, you can produce a baby that might be a higher rarity. Rare animals produce better resources. Make sure to build enough 'Animal Homes' to keep up with your growing population. Also, keep an eye on your Farmhands' energy—assign them to tasks that match their expertise (like lumberjacking or cooking) to maximize efficiency.
Balance your crop production with your animal needs; you'll need wheat and corn to make feed. Use the 'Order Board' to sell your products for coins and experience. As you level up, you can clear debris to expand your territory and discover new buildings like the Bakery or the BBQ Shack to create even more valuable goods.
Farmhands are specialized characters you hire to help with specific tasks like clearing land, fishing, or cooking, helping you progress faster.
This is the only mobile game I’ve played with no forced ads, and that never makes me feel like I have to spend money to get anywhere. It actually makes me want to watch an ad or spend a little money to support. You can tell they actually care about the game itself, which is rare for mobile games these days, which are usually just ad farms (no pun intended). I have my SIL playing it now lol. I wish they had a build or editing mode, as it is a little cumbersome to move stuff around, but I love the customization and decoration aspect of the game. I save all my gems for decorations. I could use some new items or skins for current. Wish we could buy them. I really don’t like the new exotic area. It sounded fun at first, but it’s way too expensive to keep up with, and the items take too long to get and take up space in your barn! We have an exotic tab in storage now, I don’t understand why the items we have to save for enclosures don’t go in there instead, since it takes so long to get enough. I just sell them and have a bunch of homeless exotic animals out front of that area lol. I avoid that area because I feel bad for them. I don’t play it at all anymore, since it moved. I would love to customize that area but just don’t have the space or coins.
I love this game. It is so much fun and the community on here is great. Growing crops, crafting goods and helping others in your co-op is so much fun. Completing boat orders to earn things in a fun side quest and once you’re able to sky race it’s really fun. However, the animal quest are so difficult to move past levels. I’m in a level 43 farm and I am still stuck on level 8 on animal quest. It’s far to expensive and take too many elixirs to even level up your animal a little. The parts needed to upgrade your barn and silo capacity count toward your inventory and once you get up in levels it begins to take 12 each of everything to upgrade. So if you have a barn capacity of 160, you need to have 36 spaces available for just the barn upgrade parts, then you also have to factor in the silo parts. I don’t think they should count towards your inventory much in the same way elixirs don’t. The weather station seems to have some bugs too… I’ll activate it to grow my crops faster and it doesn’t work, same thing with trying to get goods or other things to speed up. It’s especially frustrating when trying to complete boat orders or do the sky race. Having side events during sky race and filling board orders and boat orders can be kinda overwhelming with trying to complete everything. It feels like too much going on at once. I love this game though. Play it everyday and always enjoy accomplishing tasks.
I like the game a lot, it’s really good and there is a lot to do and there are always events which is nice. My issues are exotic animals and decorating the farm. There needs to be a better way to edit and move items. Like the fences, you have to move each piece one at a time and if you have 100 pieces of fence, your clicking and holding to the drag and drop 100 pieces. You can’t zoom out very farm so you only see a little bit of the farm and have to wait for the screen to move while your trying to drag and drop each piece. Exotic animals are dumb, the houses for them take up a lot of space and they don’t do anything for the farm other than help get a couple items needed to make other things. It takes a lot to lvl them. It’s ridiculous how much gold has to be spend to lvl them just a tiny bit. It needs adjusted and made easier to lvl the animals for exotic quests. There are tons of lvls for exotic missions and I’m stuck on lvl 11. I have probably spend close to 100k gold just trying to lvl a couple of exotic animals. Evolving them is ridiculous too. Even more gold you have to spend to lvl them. Gold is hard enough to save in the game as everything costs so much. Just to build a leather shop is 20k. You won’t be able to get very far in this game unless you can spend real money on diamonds to turn into gold and use on other things. I’ve gotten to lvl 46 and have had to spend plenty of real cash to get to that lvl.
Isn’t the whole point of a leveling system, to be able to eventually use your energy more efficiently. It’s pretty ridiculous that the three things you need the most level up with you. What the point in leveling farm hands if the consumption is going to get more and more the harder you grind. There’s no winning. You’re simply creating another maddening algorithm to cause players to have to buy gems to spend on materials to hopefully get enough farm hand cards to level up just so they can have to spend more money to level up again. The game is already a money pit. Plus, y’all removed my last review which was about the quest system. Kind of funny how you have such high ratings. Guess that’s easy to accomplish when you remove the lower ratings. This game is friendly to people that have lives and want something fun to play. I’m all about throwing a little money in to a game to get the upper hand. But There’s no end to this games ability to empty your wallet. Why would anyone spend money to end up in a harder position then before. It’s only worth my money if I get to feel like I’m accomplishing something. Which I don’t, when the logs on the ground level up with me?!? This one aspect is absolutely crazy. Give it a break. This game is probably worth millions already. Let players feel like they didn’t waste there money just to get beat by a weed they can pull without using a days worth of in game energy which cost a ridiculous amount of gems to refill.
Great gameplay, animal breeds fun, co-op excellent. Please some changes? Averaging tasks based in co-op levels makes tasks very hard for lower level members to participate unless. Don’t wish to restrict level in coop so all are similar so tasks are doable for all. Would like either for tasks to be individualized so deleting doesn’t affect scoring creating frustration for higher levels or more varied so not so difficult for lower levels. Build camaraderie if higher levels can help lower so mixed levels good. Also need more zoom out for design and viewing possibilities. Also side events often require inventory space while you are still using space for upgrades and such. Breaking up inventory categories more would be a great help. Separate for special events or upgrade parts? Otherwise I pretty much have to skip inventory hogging events resulting in a poor score for the event. Skyrace having an individual board versus shared board of options so low levels have a chance in the co-op. Lots of people, especially older have friends/grandkids that they’d like to play with but the one having the lower level hurts and gives up or doesn’t have fun. Missing opportunity for purchases as gifts to friends and family…right now it would be too much to catch them up
I’ve been playing for less than a month and already think I’m going to delete the app. What should be an enjoyable game focused on raising animals, growing crops, fulfilling orders and working with your coop on sky races to earn fun prizes and decorations has become a crazy hodgepodge of a number of different tasks/events going at the same time. As I write this there are five events outside of your regular order board, visitor requests, boat orders, sky race and exotic animal orders. Sure, you don’t have to participate in them but you bet that game will remind you about the events going on every time you open the app. Not to mention the now 2 ads you have to watch everyday to complete your daily tasks. I also hate the new animal sanctuary thing they have now (what happened to having them just on your farm?). You now have to save up a ridiculous amount of items (and spend your coins) in order to expand the land in your sanctuary. This takes up a crazy amount of space in your barn. It’s getting impossible to save items for that expansion and save items to upgrade your barn and silo and collect items to just simply play the game. Clearly they are hoping to push people to spend actual money on this silly app by making it nearly impossible to keep up with all the expanding and building you need to do to keep up with your experience level. Simply put, the game isn’t enjoyable and has way too much going on.
Update: This game is fun but so maddening. The bottom portion of my review is from 2 months ago where I describe my experience of the game freezing and I deleted and reinstalled the game of course, losing everything I gained in 20 levels. After reinstalling, it was great. I get up to level 43. Now (again) there’s a mandatory update and it’s stuck… again. The exact thing that happened the first time I installed it. So now, I can’t get past the upgrade tutorial. SERIOUSLY?! I’ve made SEVERAL purchases for this game and if it doesn’t resolve within the next few days, I’m deleting it and I will NOT reinstall it. It’s ridiculous!! 2 months ago: I’ve been playing FV3 for about a week. It’s been great but there’s been a hiccup. I paid $5 for the season pass. The game FORCES the player to go through the instructions to the season pass event and how it all works and the bonus perks you’ll receive. Great! I’ve bought season passes multiple times on another game. Here’s the issue: the tutorial will freeze up at the same point every time. I can’t get to my farm. I cannot do anything on the game UNTIL I go through that tutorial. Either allow experienced players X out of the tutorial or fix the bug that’s making it freeze. I’ve closed the game and opened again 3 times. Freezes. I went to my App Store to see if I can update, nope. Everything else is great with the game but fix the freeze. Surely I’m not the only one who has had this issue.
Very addictive game, and I am enjoying it so far. The animals are adorable and I like the filling orders aspect. Although there seems to be a big pacing issue with the game. You can’t earn coins fast enough with the levels you gain. I am constantly having to debate unlocking a new area or building a new building/animal pen. For example, I currently have 2 new spaces to unlock as well as 3 buildings, and still need to buy apple trees. I never open the chests I get because I never have money or gems to spare. So they all get sold for 10 coins. The order board constantly asks for items you haven’t unlocked yet. Some items are locked behind animal quests and you don’t get enough strong exotics or elixirs to proceed with the quests, plus half the time you use your energy to get the fruit for orders instead of attempting the quests. I am constantly out of room in my silo and barn, and the tools to upgrade it come by pretty slow. Plus when you have to have 4 of each tool in your barn, it takes up 12 spaces of space you are already lacking. There’s also so many things going on at once.. sky race, food truck, boats, orders, visitors…. I would love to have some nice stockpiles in my barn to prepare me for all the different types of orders but I don’t have room. All in all I feel like the only way to keep up is to buy coins and gems, which ruins the game for me in a way. Happy farming!
