Awesome Game and App
Sat Jun 14 2025 Milly Wayne

It’s rare that people write positive reviews because we usually jump here to post our grievances. I came because I just noticed I have a 27 day streak and I cannot say anything bad about this game. Paid advertising keeps it free, they don’t upset me. It’s challenging and I like that I don’t win all the time. When I do win it feels well deserved. It’s certainly making me a better player. I have a lot of moments in my day where I need something quick to do to keep myself from going in my mind too much. This game has not made me be tired of it once. It’s a great exercise for my mind and very rewarding somehow though you’re not going to win like an actual prize or anything. I am grateful that this game is about as perfect as I can expect an app to be and just wanted to say, BRAVO!!!

Loved the Old Version

I’ve really enjoyed this game… right up until the latest version came out recently and replaced the previous version. This is one of the best Gin Rummy apps I’ve ever downloaded on the App Store. I’ve tried about 15 so far and this one suits me best. The graphics are nice. It’s fairly “clean” looking without too much pomp and circumstance. Play and average win/loss ratio seems fair, possibly even bent in the player’s favor. In the previous version, my complaint was that SO many ads were deceptive and had NO way to exit them… even after letting one play for 5+ minutes. Now that the app has been “updated,” there are ads after EVERY round. Not just every game. I mean every round. And of course these are the same ads I reported as broken, misleading, and impossible to exit. Now I’m flooded with ads. Banner ads and video ads that hold you hostage. I’m aware there is a paid version that will (as far as I know) remove ads. I’m sorry, but $5/month just to make a game playable is too steep for me. ESPECIALLY when EVERYONE wants you to pay monthly for whatever they’re offering. I wish more devs would understand that there is FIERCE competition for dollars—everything from game apps to news sources, to podcasts, streaming, grocery shopping & delivery, and more. If the cost of ad removal was more reasonable, I’d go for it. But not $5/month. Because of the ads, I won’t keep this app long. But it was nice prior to the ad bombardment.

Horrible win ratio

Update: I received a response from the developer, which I don’t know if it will still be included at the end of this post. I guess I hit a nerve with the developer because the first line in their response back to me was condescending. I guess I shouldn’t expect an “absolutely perfect experience” for a free app. Many people have written similar things perhaps my comment on “not having a robust algorithm” didn’t sit well. Regardless, I have mentioned what I don’t like about it and those should be taken as improvements needed. Original post: I agree with other reviewers that the game seems unbalanced in the win ratio the higher you go. Some have alluded to it being to get more ads in, but I just think it’s the developers not having a robust enough algorithm to keep track of cards played. There are times where you are not shown the winning hand or the losing hand of the computers just a score. There are also times I feel the same card has been drawn and discarded from the deck. I also don’t like that the game will suggest your discards or pressure you into passing or drawing a card if you take to long to make a decision. I feel if you don’t take the advice the next card drawn or played is on path to you losing. Still play the game in hopes that it will get better and it does keep your mind active though at times frustrated.

Great game if you enjoy losing the more you progress

Update: so I wrote the below review and I was ok with the loss ratio but the higher I go, the more I lose. And the 90% win rate the computer has in 3 hands or less is now about 99%. The 10 second ads are longer than my hands. And judging by their responses in other reviews, it’s not a valid problem for them but here’s a tip - if a lot of your complaints are about the same thing, then it’s obviously an issue, whether you want to believe it is or not. The fact that play time is about 25% and ads 75% is crazy. Really disappointed. Original: First, I really enjoy playing games by Mobilityware - I have 5 that I regularly rotate through. They all have the same type of ads after each hand/round but they’re short and easily skipped and really aren’t an issue in the other games. I love this game; my problem is that the computer wins 90% of the games in 3 hands or less. I win 0% of the games in 3 hands or less. It’s extremely unbalanced. Several times, I’ve been at 95-99 points while the computer is at zero and yet somehow the computer manages to win. It’s incredibly frustrating - and it makes me feel like it’s just a way to quickly cycle through more ads because the rounds are so short. It’s obviously not enough to make me stop playing but is enough to take away a star. Thanks!

Choose another rummy game

Reviewed: Feb 10, 2025 - Updated Feb 16, 2025 WARNING: There’s an ad after EVERY round (hand). Not every game...it’s like 5+ times per game, and this is rummy so the games are short. I’ve been playing and buying games from this developer for many, many years. It had been one of my favorites. Now, to remove these frustrating ads, it would cost $5.00 per MONTH. No thanks. There are scores of rummy games here; I’ll switch to another. What a shame. Deleted. ➡️ The developer responded by saying it depends on ad revenue, which of course we all know; the developer’s response misses the point of my criticism…and the criticism of so many other reviewers who say the same thing. The developer also said players can click out of the ads quickly. So what? The flow of the game is already ruined by the interruption. The developer could put one longer ad after each game instead, or decrease the cost of buying out of the ads. However, the developer chose not to do so even after reading so many complaints. Such a shame.

Not ran very well

I’ve been playing this for over a month and although I like playing it is totally not enjoyable anymore. When cards are dealt I always have to choose to pass or take the card HOWEVER if it’s a low card or a card I could use the robot player all of a sudden chooses first?? When I’m saving to play a run I can’t get the cards I need until I decide to get rid of those cards as soon as I do almost every time the robot player throws out what I was saving for and it doesn’t just happen once or twice!! When the robot player knocks there is a split second that a card appears that goes in my hand ugh I’m on line tonite to try to find a better one

Too many ads and horrible chance balance
Mon Oct 11 2021 dg1.Hellfire

The sheer volume of ads is the main reason for deleting this app. It lasted a week. There are just too many ads after such short hands. When you realize that the cost per ad is the goal here, it really limits a positive gameplay experience. Speaking of gameplay, there are instances where opponents win in two plays far too often or get Gin very quick. Having played this with actual people IRL the probability of that happening as often as it does with this game is very low yet in this game opponents win in very few rounds. Seeing the goal of this game is to drive ad revenue over balanced gameplay or even a less ad driven game experience, I doubt any of it will be fixed therefore I choose to delete this game. Such a shame since their version of solitaire has been their most popular and polished experience.

Zero Stars. Ads galore and the worst cheating ever

What idiot decided to have an ad after every ad, not even every game? I spent more time clicking the millions of x’s than playing the game. And talk about unfair, holy crap, this is the worst game I’ve ever seen. You’ll play the whole round trying to play a certain combo, and as soon as you give up the bot throws down the one card you needed. Idk how many times I would have two of a card, try for three of a kind, and as soon as I throw one away, would see the other two cards after. I have never hated an app so quickly, I deleted it in less than an hour and will not be redownloading. I didn’t even try tue online multiplayer, but why would I after getting so obviously screwed over by the bots. I understand there are good hands and bad hands and you’re bound to get a bad hand, but when you lose every round for 8 rounds in a row, losing 115-0, you start to see how it isn’t so random as it claims.
