As a long-time fan of both the books and the HBO series, I’ve played almost every GoT mobile title, and 'Dragonfire' genuinely feels like a breath of fresh air—pun intended. Most strategy games in this genre feel like generic reskins, but the integration of the 'House of the Dragon' lore here is handled with real care. The dragons aren't just cosmetic pets; they are the literal center of your strategy. Hatching Syrax and seeing her grow from a hatchling to a massive war machine provides a sense of progression that is incredibly rewarding.
The visual fidelity is top-notch for mobile. The map of Westeros is rendered beautifully, and seeing your dragon fly over the Red Keep during a siege is a cinematic highlight. However, what really stands out is the tactical depth of the tile-based combat. It’s not just about who has the bigger numbers; positioning and unit counters actually matter. If you rush in without a plan, even a dragon won't save you from a well-prepared defense.
On the downside, like many high-production mobile strategy games, the 'time-to-build' walls can get steep in the late game. Being part of an active alliance is absolutely mandatory to mitigate the grind and protect your resources from aggressive players. But if you enjoy the social scheming and the 'Game of Thrones' atmosphere, this is easily the best mobile adaptation of the franchise currently available. It captures the tension of the Targaryen civil wars perfectly.
Collect and command legendary dragons including Syrax and Caraxes.
Immersive narrative featuring House of the Dragon characters.
Explore a detailed map of Westeros with iconic locations like Harrenhal.
Strategic tile-based combat requiring tactical planning.
Massive multiplayer alliances and PvP regional warfare.
Build and customize a formidable Targaryen-era stronghold.
Start by establishing your stronghold. Your primary focus should be upgrading the Keep to unlock new buildings and dragon abilities. Follow the initial narrative quests to earn essential resources and meet Rhaenyra Targaryen, who will guide your early expansion.
The core of your power lies in your dragon pit. Once you acquire a dragon egg, use specialized resources to hatch it. Regularly train your dragon to increase its combat stats and unlock unique fire-breathing abilities that can devastate enemy formations during sieges.
Engage in tactical warfare where timing and troop composition are key. You will lead armies across a grid-based map, utilizing different unit types—Infantry, Ranged, and Cavalry—to counter enemy forces. Deploying your dragon at the right moment can turn the tide of a losing battle.
Survival in Westeros is nearly impossible alone. Join an Alliance to participate in large-scale PvP events. Coordinate with dozens of players to lay siege to Great Seats of Power, sharing the rewards and influence that come with controlling the most famous landmarks in the Seven Kingdoms.
Players can collect, hatch, and train a variety of dragons seen in House of the Dragon, including Syrax, Caraxes, Seasmoke, and many others.
No, the game is set 172 years before the birth of Daenerys Targaryen, focusing on the era of House Targaryen's peak power as seen in House of the Dragon.
So ever since 2017 and my bf had the coolest video game he’d play on his X box with such vivid graphics of the water and the fine ripples, the dragons, the clarity and 3d almost appearance, I’ve been wishing a game on my phone could only compare! Well the search is over! This is hands down very cool! So cool I’m writing a review at 3 am after an hour of play! The dragons are so cool and you really ride it, dodge the fire, shoot the targets and fly over mountains, swoop down under them and all while flying free over the glistening ocean. It is awesome and it’s unlike any other game that makes you wait weeks of game play just to unlock your dragon, this game gives it to you within a few min of play! Hop on and enjoy the adventure with me:) see ya there lol
Reading GoT and getting myself used to the universe in time for the next season of HoTD, and this game was on my preorder list — I’m a big PC and console gamer, and thought I’d give this a shot; I’m beyond impressed with how well done this game is. The dragon gameplay, and top down conquest style gameplay are both super fun, story/writing surprisingly engaging for Mobile, and UI is really clean too. Nowadays it’s a rarity to have a game feel this complete at launch, and cudos to the Dev team for knocking this out of the park. Honored to be one of the first reviewers btw!!
The game has a really great storyline and is really easy to get into, tutorial takes a little bit, but in the end, it’s worth it. You get to conquer your own land and grow your own dragons starting from a hatching up until adult.
I think the game is great so far, I just started playing it. But there needs to be a more in depth playing system where you can actually forge your own storyline and pathway where you can choose your beginnings, and choose what goals you want to accomplish. But also have a part where you have the option to try and conquer the seven kingdoms and claim the Iron Throne, where you can actually sit on it too. Plus if that were the case, you can create your own characters, choose or create your own house. Just some suggestions.
Pretty fun time. Graphics and sounds are incredible for a mobile game which helps. Great storyline if you care about that kind of thing, probably even more fun for people who don’t
I loved at first but now I’m kind of overwhelmed. It’s only been 1 days and I’m surrounded by tiles and clueless how to get better etc. the ads showed us like raising dragons with more of the raising dragons functions but this whole game is just war, farming resources and pillaging mostly. I wanted a dragon raising game with a war like function but this is a war game with a tiny dragon raising function…
Really enjoying the game so far, there’s a lot to do right from the beginning and if you play for resources and follow the campaign you’ll do well fast. The dragons are really cute too. :3
Only spent a few minutes playing but I can tell you it’s garbage. It’s a hybrid game between “temple run” runner game and city builder/managing. Temple run type is fun because it’s endless, but for this game it’s made into stages so it becomes a chores. I don’t even know if you can play with others or not because I never completed the tutorials, but this game they want to conquer all the lands like 37++ blocks of land this is just too much work and boring.
