64-bit build so Eufloria will live on :)
I wound up getting this back when it was first released. It's a FANTASTIC Galcon type RTS title, and still one of my favorites in the genre (on any gaming platform). While the main game is fairly easy to complete, the added Dark Matter Mode (an unlockable harder difficulty) offers up some decent challenge. The graphics are simply outstanding, the 20 achievements (1,000 pts) should add some extra replayability, even after you complete the game and there's even a Skirmish mode. The only negative things I can say about it is that there are no GC Leaderboards (which would probably add to the replayability factor for some of us...) and no multiplayer (which would be MIND-BLOWINGLY fun!!). But I understand why MP hasn't been implemented (the dev has stated that game sales are NOT good, not good at all...). Hopefully the guys from Omni Systems keep developing games. They are obviously incredibly talented, and I hope to see more from their creative minds in the future. =oD
It's sad some people would give a game a bad rating just because they were no good at it or didn't understand the level goals. But here is a game that is a unique take on RTS and kind of has a tower defense element to it. Relaxing if you have the time to sit down with it or can give a quick gaming fix randomly throughout the day if you simple turn the speed up and pause an come back to it. And provides enough challenge and depth to keep interest rather than "just get a bunch that can overpower them." It's defends yourself and raise enough of a specific strength to proceed. Which perhaps confuses some people which is sad cause there's a hint button too. In any case this is one for the ages and you get more than your money's worth if nothing else for the skirmish mode.
Fantastic game. I very rarely write reviews. I have played countless hours of this game. It has filled many happy days, if not weeks of play time. I can't recommend it enough. The only gripe I can think of is that I've played through every level multiple times and it doesn't have anything else for me to scratch that itch (which, when it comes to game reviews, is an AMAZING problem to have). If there was a randomly generated mode I probably wouldn't ever put it down. I've got ADHD and this is one of the few games that I can play while actively paying attention to a conversation or an audiobook and that's huge for me.
I was quite hooked on this game for a long time. I recently played again and remembered how much I enjoy the game. I normally play puzzle style games. I'm not really into action or fighting games. This game doesn't neatly fit into a category, but it definitely is more intense than my usual games. It is very addictive, especially as you learn the possibilities and determine your strategy. The difficulty gradually builds as you learn the game. The devs timing is perfect. You are quite invested in the game when the attacks begin!! You must strategize and outmaneuver your enemy: a swarm of aggressive bugs that are competing for your territory. Well, not really bugs, they are creatures that want to invade as much territory as possible, including your territory, and reproduce. That's what you are doing too. So it's a race for survival. They are your competition and only one of you can win. This an intense, brilliant and multilayered game. The excitement and competition builds slowly, it won't seem intense until you are quite addicted. One of the top games in IOS, without a doubt. Though it's not really something you just play for 5 mins.
I initially played this game on the PlayStation and the first time I tried it, I was immediately sucked into about 6 hours of gameplay. I love it. The growing of trees, the space elements, the battles, the sinking feeling of being the bad guy, but most especially the trees! I don’t often pay money for a phone game, but this one has been worth every penny! It is very well made too. Nice and smooth, I haven’t encountered any bugs or problems. Great game, 10/10 would recommend!
Easily the best game I have ever played on the App Store. While some of the reviews on here may have found the game to be too challenging, I found it to be the perfect combination of logic and strategy, bringing about a truly enjoyable experience. There are not so few levels that you can finish the game in a day, nor too many where you spend weeks trying to make progress. I have never played a game like it, and I hope to play a game like it again! Definitely worth your time and money.
Update: regarding the September 2017 release, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you! I love this game, but it has graphics issues on the iPad Air. Dark mode looks horrible and the backgrounds on some levels of the other modes are so saturated that it is really hard to see the seedlings. Maybe the seedlings are also too small to be seen well. Surfing a bit shows that the Air indeed has graphics differences from earlier iPads. Please, please fix this! And please post a status on your forum!
I love this game! But it's not challenging enough. I would love to see added levels that are more difficult. Also, this game would be an amazing multiplayer game! Overall it's a very unique and and very enjoyable to play. My only true complaint is that it overrides my podcast app, and turns it off so I can't play and listen to podcasts. I've had other games pause the podcasts when they're initially launched, but I can just switch back to the podcast app, push play and return to the game, no big deal. So I'm bummed this game can't allow both to run :(.
