Disney Speedstorm is a high-octane, visually stunning kart racer that manages to carve out its own identity in a genre dominated by Mario Kart. Instead of just a casual party game, Speedstorm feels like a 'Combat Racer' with genuine depth. Every character, from Mickey Mouse to Captain Jack Sparrow, has a unique 'Ultimate Ability' that can turn the tide of a race, and the class system (Speedster, Brawler, etc.) adds a layer of team strategy that is rarely seen in kart racers.
The tracks are the standout feature—they are massive, multi-route spectacles inspired by Disney films, complete with cinematic music remixes that shift as the race progresses. While the 'Live Service' model with its multiple currencies and battle passes can feel a bit cluttered, the core racing mechanics are incredibly tight. Drifting feels weighty and responsive, and the 'manual' boost system rewards high-risk play. It’s a gorgeous, fast-paced racer that treats the Disney license with a surprising amount of edge and excitement.

If you're playing as a Brawler like Hercules or Sulley, don't focus on leading the pack. Stay in the middle of the group and bump into rivals. Brawlers gain a massive boost for every collision, allowing you to rocket to the front during the final lap.
Gameplays
Every pick-up can be 'Charged' by holding the button. A standard bomb might roll forward, but a charged bomb will create a static trap behind you. Knowing when to use the charged version vs. the standard version is what separates the casual racers from the pros.

Sun Dec 29 2024 B illzPlease take my review into consideration as I am a player who spends lots of money on the game. I have almost every character and many characters above level 40. The good with the game outweighs the bad, but there are some serious flaws that should be addressed. The game seamlessly flows between pc, console and iPhone. All around fantastic game, the only gripes I have are the micro transactions and the limited amount of objectives in the offline mode. You can pretty much play and earn tokens once per day, as almost every event is on a once per 24 hour timer. Thats not ideal when many players would prefer a challenging offline mode that is playable for more than 10-15 minutes per day. For the multiplayer mode, it’s fun when you start. As soon as you reach mpr level 16 or so it gets insanely competitive with whales galore. Then, after level 20 no one plays. You’re lucky to find 2 or 3 opponents past mpr 20. People stop because they can’t dominate the lower leagues anymore and can’t tolerate losing. So they build up another character to dominate lower leagues. It’s extremely flawed. Online mode should be based on the star rating system only OR something more fair than just mpr. As it is now you have star level 40 racers competing with star level 15 racers because the mpr is the same. They should eliminate the current system and rework online matchmaking so it’s competitive and not whoever spends the most wins. Aside from those two gripes, I love the game. It’s hilarious, entertaining, challenging and most importantly fun.

Thu Dec 05 2024 Video gamer playerI want to start out by saying this is a very fun game to play, and I would highly recommend this to anybody that loves racing games, but I’ve been having problems connecting to the game since our Internet slow down, (590 Kbps) I have been playing for a week on the slow Internet and just last night a little after 2 am November 5 it keeps telling me it can’t connect to server so, “Please check my Internet connection”, I just wanted to play a little bit on my phone but it wouldn’t allow me to connect so I waited till the morning to play on my Nintendo switch because you can play with a lot more settings on there and it says it won’t connect, I’ve tried the default settings, I’ve tried the settings professionals say to make the connections better from your Nintendo switch and still can’t connect, I had to borrow somebody else’s phones hotspot to turn the game on and play till they take their phone back, please I just want you to know that this is a problem and if you can please fix the connection problem while you’re Internet slows down, we don’t have a router, We have a mobile hotspot but it slows down after 15 gigs. by the way, I can still play Fortnite, Rocket Ieague, and Minecraft on slow Internet.

Sat Oct 12 2024 Lays chips 💖I know I’ve already written 2 reviews already😓 but I have some suggestions. First of all PLEASE add lady and the tramp. I know they are dogs, and that would be weird for a dog to drive, but PLEASE consider adding them bc they are my fav Disney characters. You already have my fav Pixar character😉 Anxiety! Could you also make the boxes in the shop a little more cheaper? They are a bit expensive. Also, how do you change your name? I’m stuck with Player2583 or some other numbers like that. It told me I’m not the correct age to change my name, so I made my age higher, and it still said that, then I tried again, and it said that again. I finally made it to the highest age there is, and it still said I’m too young to change my name! This is very frustrating and if you had the answer to my question that would be rlly nice🥰 Anyway, great game! I just had some suggestions and questions.

Sun Feb 08 2026 PholuvLove the game, it’s pretty competitive for those that don’t spend any money. I haven’t spent any money and can still enjoy the game. Nice updates every month with new characters and levels. Kudos to the team behind Nightmare before Christmas. Alot of thought went into character animation and level design. Team behind Alice in Wonderland… complete garbage. Levels are short, repetitive, and hard to see where you are going because the road blends in with the same colors of the background. Lazy. Improvements: I hate that the server disconnects quite a bit and you lose all progress and rewards, especially when you finish a race and it’s the end screen only to be kicked off the server and lose everything. Also you don’t not get your attempts back so you lose out on trying again on limited try events. Another thing this game needs to do is add character voices for the ones that are missing rather than keep making new characters when they haven’t fixed the old ones. At the start of races when characters are saying their catch lines, there’s a handful of characters that just move their mouth and don’t say anything which takes away from the experience.
A local freeplay suggestion.
Sun May 11 2025 OverLord13.00XI had a suggestion for this part of the game that I thought could be fun. So I’ve played Multiversus while it’s been around and at one point in time they added a feature that I thought was fun and helped with the game. In the mode for their game that is similar to yours that made it so that in that mode you could use any character you liked in it since it wouldn’t impact online play. I think that could be fun for players like myself who want to play the characters that they like without having to go through a whole season hoping that they’ll be available to unlock. I mean I had to save up my blue tokens and wait months just so I could unlock EVE at a starter level, which is the character I wanted from the start, and now I’ll have to repeat that process over and over for all the other characters I want. I just suggesting this so that anyone who just wants to play the characters they like could do so offline, but this is just a suggestion, I still hope that development for this game goes well and that things will improve, no offense.
Good, but some issues
Sat Nov 16 2024 Valve the MomkeyFirstly, I think this is a fairly decent kart racing game and the aesthetic is good. However, I feel that the game has some issues. Firstly, cross system is a horrible addition. Cross system makes it impossible for PC and Apple users to play the game and have it be fair. Controller users dominate the online matching and makes it impossible to fully enjoy the game. If the devs feel that cross system is something that absolutely has to be in the game, at least let users choose if they want it active or not. Another issue, that doesn’t really affect the game, is the choice of karts for characters. I feel that the some of the karts just don’t fit the characters theme. I’d love to see karts that are visually unique to others, the Mickey Mouse Gang and Nightmare Before Christmas karts are great examples. Lastly, I think that the currency used to get packs is so hard to come by, I get that devs have to get money, and transactions are important, but at least make it easier to get these currencies.

Sat Oct 05 2024 Toca life imaginationThe game is great, but I I only have three characters it’s gonna take me so long to get all the characters Because there’s like 60 something characters but here’s another good thing there’s no ad's😆 but there is another bad thing you have to pay to get every character well not everyone, but at least two of every selection cause you know there’s like frozen and then there’s like more Moana do you know what I mean? but here’s another bad thing. The controls are kind of tricky to play with. I don’t know how every person does that but here’s another good thing sometimes you can unlock the things that are locked forever because some days there are these things where you can pick a couple characters like I picked Donald because that was the only one that was really good. The other ones were like things I didn’t even know about but anyway, there is my review and why I gave it three stars so please fix this game thank you thank you thank you! 😘 J
