Dark Tap RPG is a satisfyingly moody entry into the idle/clicker genre. It leans heavily into a dark, gothic aesthetic that reminded me of Darkest Dungeon, which is a big plus. The 'tap' mechanic is responsive, but the game really shines when your automated hero starts tearing through hordes of undead while you're managing upgrades.
It’s a perfect 'background game.' The progression feels constant, and the 'rebirth' mechanic is tuned well so that you never feel stuck for too long. While it doesn't reinvent the clicker formula, the atmosphere and the variety of dark loot you can collect make it stand out from the more colorful, bubbly games in this category. It’s dark, it’s grindy in the best way, and it’s very addictive.
Atmospheric dark gothic art style
Deep idle progression and prestige mechanics
Hundreds of pieces of equipment to collect
Offline progress and rewards
Focus your first few upgrades on 'Auto-Tap' skills and Hirelings. This allows the game to progress while you are focused on the deeper menu systems like Artifact Fusion and Skill Trees.
When your progress slows down, use the 'Rebirth' feature. You'll start over from level 1, but you'll gain 'Soul Shards' that provide massive permanent stat boosts, allowing you to push further than before.
Tapping helps at the start, but as you upgrade your hero, they will become powerful enough to fight entirely on their own.
You heard that right. It’s a pretty good game, the visuals could use a prettying up, but other than that — besides the micro transactions, make them at least only cosmetics if you’re going to keep them.
This game has a lot of potential. The UI is gorgeous, the sound is nice, and the gameplay is simple but satisfying. However…there’s a lot to pay for. The description says you can use auto-target, but that’s actually an additional purchase. Your gear, stats, and skills can be upgraded, but you can also just buy gold to decrease the grind. It’s just so disappointing to buy a premium game and then just have the entire experience be set up like any other random free-to-play game out there.
This is a fun little idle game, most gear is obtainable through grinding (not characters though), not sure if there is an auto stage replay option but it would be a great addition.
As someone with OCD, this game is a blessing. Very fun and unstoppable. Thanks so much. It would be great to track all goods, greats, misses, and perfects though. Still amazing!

The game "Dark Tap RPG" is mix of timing and RPG. I've been developing games that required lots of controls on mobile devices which was...
