Hey Heroes!
This hotfix focuses on bug fixes and performance improvements:
- Fixed chapter chests related bugs
- General performance improvements
Thank you for your continued support!
First, this game looks and plays exactly like the pictures showed. It’s a turn based attack game where you defeat waves of enemies. In between each wave you’ll play the cup game where you multiply balls that will then be used for currency to buy the perks each wave. It’s strategy to to pick which perk will be beneficial later in the rounds. You’ll earn armor, and pieces that you’ll need to to merge and upgrade armors. There’s multiple classes of armor that each have their own perks but you can mix and match what works for your character. Even failing the round will reward you , just with less then when you win. You can also go back and replay all the levels to get your upgrade pieces if you are getting stuck on a level. Each hero you play with also has different perks at the end of each wave. You’ll earn coins and diamonds through the game as well so you don’t have to buy them. It’s super addictive and very fun. The only thing I would change would be to have more descriptions on what certain things do / mean. You’ll eventually figure it out by playing but it would be nice to just have an info button.
I love this game so much. I’ve grinded so much and have never spent money on a game I found from an ad other than this game. I’ve never had any complaints. Until now. I can’t comprehend why you’d change the pixelated look of the game. It looks so bad now to the point it makes me not even want to play. It doesn’t give it the nostalgic old game feeling anymore. It looks awful and I’m disappointed. The heroes all looked so cool and now they look like a kid came up with how everything looks. You changed one of the coolest heroes (mammon even though I didn’t use him) into a complete different hero. I never thought just the look of a game could change me wanting to play it like this. I won’t be spending money on or even playing this game anymore until it’s switched back. I hope that’s a possibility. This game was perfect how it was. I hope you take my review into consideration. All love no hate. Just genuine feedback.
The game was extremely fun for a few weeks. I even paid $5 to never see ads again because I liked the game so much. Unfortunately, after around level 20 the ball rewards never show another “+6 balls at the beginning of each round” which means it’s impossible to get enough balls for a good power up before being forced to watch an ad. It definitely feels like this lack of the +6 balls is on purpose. Additionally, you can’t get past certain levels without being forced to level up, which means losing 15 games in a row until you have enough coins to level up. The alternative is paying for gems to get coins to level up, or watching ads to get power boosts. At the foundation, this game is highly fun and addictive, however there is a point of diminishing returns where you’re just stuck. Without the +6 balls, you’ll never have good enough power ups to win the game because each round you get maybe 4-6 balls to start and will get maybe 40 balls to spend each round. I hope the devs read this and fix the issue - unless it’s on purpose, in which I just can’t play the game anymore for more than 1 round without being bored.
So I was playing this game through another app that you can make money with their offers, but they don’t mind paying you the money for the smaller amount but when you get to the big amount of money, they don’t wanna pay you. They’ll all of a sudden claim that it’s no longer Tracking the game and I’ve completed the last task the same day or the next day and then all of a sudden it’s not Tracking and this is the third time it’s happened with other apps as well. They are a third-party that want to pay you to play their game. But don’t trust them when you get to the very end they’re not gonna wanna pay you anything so be prepared for that because that’s what they did to me and I like the game, which is so disappointing because I think it’s cute and I have even been afterwards, but because they’re not gonna pay me I’m not playing anymore. That made me so mad like why even offered that to play your game if you’re not gonna give it to me that’s just being a liar and scamming me for my time. I even wanted to make a purchase because I do like the game but I just don’t trust them and they don’t deserve to get my purchase because they’re not gonna pay me anything anyway like they promised.
Ok when I first started playing this game I was in love ….. then about a week into it I started noticing little things that kind of annoyed me but got over it …. Then another week went by and now the only changes I have noticed are exponentially worse than before said improvement….. random forced adds when I have either not even had the chance to watch one on my own or directly after I have just watch a whole add…. Also the game play is getting to the point where it is t fun to play anymore cause the opponents from the beginning when we as players have no chance at having the perks have most of not all the perks used against us….. then when for example I have upgraded the chance to attack twice to the fullest so meaning 80% chance of attacking 2 times I will go whole rounds till death only attacking once while the 5 opponents each attack twice till I’m dead….. it’s become not fun! I have never played an app that as they fix stuff and update it it has gotten worse so bad it’s maddening and almost not worth the time…
Update: I can’t seem to reach out to app support. Please remove the flash that comes with the high score screen. It’s hard on the eyes, especially when playing in a darkened area. Thank you. I enjoy playing Cup Heroes. The concept is fun and it’s challenging enough without feeling like it’s impossible to win a level. I decided to go ad-free, which was a good decision. My only real complaint is that they’re always trying to push players to buy packages for upgrades. If they were a reasonable price, I’d consider it. They always show a “discounted” price and the original amount is plain crazy. You can get a leveled up hero for like $40, which was discounted from like $130. Those are estimates but it’s a pretty extreme amount like that. I just wish they’d stop making pop-ups happen after every level and when you open the app, even with ads removed. It feels very pushy.
Be prepared to have ads stuffed down your throat at every turn. Of course, you can pay an astronomical amount to not be forced to watch ads. How dystopian does this sound? You have to pay to not be forced to watch advertisements, which make tons of money for these people without giving anything back to the player, in which to play a GAME, which is designed so that you reach a point very early on after downloading in which you must spend money in order to progress or play anymore. I think we are just a few years away from the largest class action suit in US history, because of how predatory and immoral these companies are becoming. Imagine that, imagine you are the type of person who knowingly decreases the quality of a persons life and refuses to do what is right until they are forced to by government intervention. I think many of us will rejoice and never again give a moment of our time to any of these predators who truly could care less if we live or die. Thanks for adding to the darkness in the world by prioritizing money above people, but karma will have its day; she always does.
The game itself plays great. However, it’s ridiculous that I get a pop-up ad in between rounds in the middle of a single game. On top of that, they include ads for every single mechanic in the game, so you can spend 30 minutes in one match watching ad after ad to make it easier, but you STILL get hit with all the pop-ups. Even better, they charge $6 to remove ads, and if you feel like the cup and battle gameplay are too slow, you can spend another $10 to double your speed. Voodoo is notorious for over-monetizing their games. The majority of Voodoo’s games have so much potential, but they are held back by the countless cash-grab mechanics that so many people have been desensitized to. Voodoo could learn some practices from Habby and Gorilla Studio (the developers/producers of Archero and more). Leave the ads out of the core gameplay and never force your players to watch pop-up ads. If ads were an option and not a requirement, I would feel more enticed to try out and support your games. I know this review will be drowned out by the thousands of fake 5 star reviews, but if anyone reads this, you shouldn’t support game developers like this, because it just enables them to pump out more cash-grab games with the sole intent of lining their own pockets. They don’t care about your enjoyment of the game. Their only goal is to make a quick buck off a game they know will be deleted within a week.
