Minor Improvements - an improved and streamlined in-game login flow for a smoother experience
Thunder Ray is a visually spectacular, high-energy homage to the 'Punch-Out!!' era of arcade boxing, but with a unique sci-fi twist. Developed by the team at Purple Tree and published on Crunchyroll, it features some of the most vibrant, hand-drawn 2D animation I've seen on a mobile device. The character designs are out-of-this-world—literally—as you face off against bizarre aliens with unique, physics-defying move sets that force you to think fast and react even faster.
The gameplay focuses on pattern recognition and timing. As an expert in fighting games, I was impressed by how well the touch controls mimic the rhythmic 'dodge-and-counter' mechanics of the classics. Every punch has a visceral 'weight' to it, and the special moves are accompanied by screen-shaking effects that make every knockout feel like a major event. While the campaign is relatively short, the difficulty of the final intergalactic champions provides a significant challenge that will keep players coming back to master the timing. It is a stylish, punchy, and incredibly polished arcade experience.
Stunning hand-drawn 2D animation
Dynamic sci-fi boxing environments
Deep rhythmic dodge-and-counter combat
Exclusive for Crunchyroll Game Vault
Every opponent in Thunder Ray has a 'Tell'—a small visual cue before they unleash a heavy attack. For example, the four-armed beast will flex its lower arms two seconds before an unblockable charge. Watch the eyes and the stance, not the health bar, to find your opening for a counter-hook.
Build your 'Thunder Meter' by landing successful jabs and dodging perfectly. Once full, trigger the 'Thunder Strike' to enter slow-motion for three seconds, allowing you to land a devastating combo that can break an opponent's guard and deal massive damage.

This was a good game but every time I try to sign in it keeps saying error 400 every single time
The game is fun, its hard and it’s supposed to be. But why have a special move if it never works. Ive had the special meter filled and I cant use the special for whatever reason. I tried doing everything to fix it but it’s just the game.
You can close the app multiple times and your special still doesn’t work
People are pitching a fit about this game requiring a subscription to Crunchyroll even though it’s completely free to download. They are only down 5 minutes of download time. They’re obviously not the target audience and you shouldn’t listen to them.
The waiting time for the game to start is longer than my lifetime
We need controller support
So I downloaded this game and it’s honestly really fun and cool and reminds me of punch out but harder and with more aliens and such lol but here’s the problem. It’s a BUGGY mess. First time I played the game I did the tutorial then stopped playing for a bit then came back and with the next fight the dialogue wouldn’t go away and the fight wouldn’t start. I exited out of the game and tried everything then when I retried it wouldn’t even let me begin the fight! So I deleted it and redownloaded it and tried again and it worked fine until I left the game again after fighting 6 opponents then I’d try to start a fight the loading screen would pop up then just pitch black. I waited 5 minutes and it was still pitch black. If your willing to play non stop then I highly suggest it until then the devs really need to fix these obvious bugs.
I tried to play the game because it genuinely looked good, but then I tried to create an account and it said I needed to go premium to not have ads while playing. I didn’t mind having ads to I exited the option to pay for the subscription. Turns out you need to pay 9.99 a month to play a game. All of the people saying that the game is good are either getting payed, or their the creators in a different account. Crazy money grab.
