Crawl Tactics delivers an incredibly satisfying synthesis of grid-based tactical combat and traditional rogue-lite dungeoneering that challenges even seasoned RPG veterans. What elevates this title above standard mobile dungeon crawlers is its masterful implementation of environmental interaction and squad-based coordination; players are forced to look beyond basic stat checks and actively weaponize terrain, chokepoints, and elemental synergies.
Managing your guild's composition requires foresight, as tactical positioning on the tight grids heavily dictates success during high-stakes encounters. The rogue-lite progression ensures that while death is a persistent threat, each run yields meaningful mechanical insights and rewards that feed back into your broader strategic management. It perfectly captures the tension of desktop tactical RPGs while respecting the mobile form factor, offering deep customization and ruthless encounter design.
Deep tactical combat with elemental synergies and terrain manipulation.
Extensive class and race customization for your squad.
Rogue-lite progression that rewards every run.
Large-scale battles and challenging boss encounters.
Before diving into the dungeon, build your squad by combining different races and classes. Equip weapons and assign skills that synergize well together.
Don't just attack the enemy directly. Look for explosive barrels, water puddles, or dry brush to create devastating area-of-effect elemental traps.
Movement and positioning dictate success. Flank enemies for bonus damage, hold high ground for accuracy, and carefully manage your action points to survive overwhelming odds.
It is a rogue-lite. While you will face perma-death in the dungeons, you unlock permanent upgrades, classes, and insights that make future runs more manageable.
I have a bunch of hours played on the Steam version and was stoked to see this come to iPhone. There is heavy influence from FFT in all the best possible ways while still maintaining its own identity. Don’t expect much story but the gameplay is phenomenal!
Game is great but report a bug that I encountered: the summon Phoenix skill from summoner kept showing lacking rage even though I am already at full rage. This is likely the coolest skill of the game but I have no way to cast it 🥲
