Convenience Stories is a charming business simulation game where you redefine what 'convenience' means. As the manager of your own store, you’ll arrange a wide variety of products—ranging from candy and drinks to hot meals and magazines—to entice customers. Success depends on your ability to listen to customer needs, recruit the right employees, and expand strategically. Negotiate with suppliers to unlock new items and go head-to-head with rival stores to dominate the service industry. With Kairosoft's iconic pixel art style and deep management mechanics, the journey to becoming a retail mogul is just a tap away.

Our Expert Score

87/100

Convenience Stories is another addictive gem from Kairosoft, the masters of the 'management simulation' genre. In this game, you're tasked with running a local convenience store, and the level of detail is surprisingly deep. You aren't just placing shelves; you're deciding which specific products (like instant ramen vs. pickled plum snacks) will appeal to different customer demographics, from pop stars to college students.

The signature pixel art and quirky humor make the management tasks feel fun rather than tedious. Watching your small shop evolve into a 24-hour national chain is incredibly rewarding. You'll need to negotiate with suppliers, manage staff shifts, and even compete with rival stores to take over territory. It’s a perfect 'one-more-turn' style game that balances casual charm with a complex economic engine. For fans of Game Dev Story or any management sim, this is a top-tier choice.

Addicting!

This is my second Kairosoft game. The first I’ve played was the game dev one. If the grocery store theme interests you, get this game! Setting up the stores and choosing how to stock the shelves is pretty fun. It’s a little difficult to make money in the beginning, so you really have to pay attention to the various features so that you can stay afloat. My biggest tip would be to take advantage of the “special event” and the advertising features, as they bring more customers into your store. One gripe I do have is that reorganizing your store can get tedious. Once you expand the store, you have to move things around again. Unfortunately, there’s no way to select multiple objects at once. Also, saving enough to research new products can take quite some time. I also wish we could stock vegetables. There’s one indoor fixture for veggies, but I would like more variety. Overall, though, the game is really fun! I’ve spent a lot of time playing this game, so it’s definitely worth the price.

Strong addition to Kariosoft Library

I’ve been a fan of Kariosoft for many years and have been impressed with their ability to innovate on an already enjoyable experience. This is particularly the case Conv. Story, which highlights a complex, challenging, and most importantly, fun gameplay experience. I loved the additions of stock and economic fluctuations which made the game dynamic. My only feedback is the trash system in New Game+. Fast forward with this feature becomes tedious in having to tap very quickly spawning trash piles — particularly during Fame Up. A automated NG+. Object or NPC which mitigates this annoyance would be a great quality of life change for an already fantastic game.

Kairosoft Almost Got It Right

This game hits about every checkmark of a good Kairosoft game. A great time sink and really combines all of the good features of past Kairosoft games into one. The mini games are fun and rewarding but optional, the progression feels really good, and the combos are always a joy to discover. The major drawback of the game comes from a major confusion in some of the processes and what may be considered bugs. I cannot for the life of me get stocking right, and the auto-stock feature is extremely confusing. With the quick progression you’re always needing to increase stock, which makes manually stocking extremely tedious. And with auto-stock, I either end up constantly running out of stock on a shelf or having an extreme surplus that all expires and goes to waste. Also, when rearranging shelves, moving an item from one shelf to another makes you pay again for that item, even if it’s fully stocked on the other shelf which makes no sense. The game rewards you with larger shelves but switching your smaller ones out is a hassle and can drain whatever money you have as you have to rebuy all the stock with no way to transfer stock effectively. This can mean changing out one small shelf for a medium shelf costs you whatever money you’ve saved up that quarter. This is extremely frustrating and gets in the way of the steady flow of progression and can set you back in major ways. The joy of discovering combos is limited as you can’t freely rearrange stock between your shelves, meaning you better like what you put on that shelf the first time or it’s going to be a pretty penny to switch it out, which becomes more irritating when new products are constantly being discovered. All in all, a nice game, but too much of a headache to enjoy to its fullest extent in its current state. I would still recommend buying it if you don’t mind manually managing your stock, and if you’re okay having to work around the headache of rearranging stock. The game excels in all other aspects.

The game I’ve been waiting for

I’ve been a Kairosoft fan for the past 15 years. I’ve played every single one of their games (even the freemium ones). They’ve had hits and misses, but man are the hits rea time sinks. I’m glad to report that this one is a veritable hit. It has everything I like in Kairosoft games (inventory management, combos, customization, cute graphics, fun system messages/dialogue) and a good pace of progression, without overwhelming you with things to keep track of like some of their recent games did. If you like management sim games please do yourself a favor and try this one out!!

Love it! But I wish it can more adjust on phone version

Overall, I love this game so so much! Amazing balance and fun to play. But as a cell phone user, it got me a bit frustrated when I have to find a tiny spot on my tiny screen with my big finger to click the [restock] so tired and so hard. The cleaning trash at least I can wait my employee to clean them, but restock only have one way to do it, it just way too tired. I wish there’s a button to restock all existing empty shelf instead of I keep misclick the other block to open a irrelevant shelf or no respond in an empty spot.

Addicting but difficult

I’m really enjoying this game! The inventory management is very entertaining, and there is enough to keep yourself immersed in the Seems to be very fleshed with it, especially for a mobile game. The only thing that I wish they had was a more fleshed out guide. There is a very barebones guide which covers a lot of the obvious topics. Unfortunately it leaves you guessing about the very important things. You can figure it out but it takes awhile… I would definitely recommend this as a buy if you enjoy these kinds of games. It definitely satisfies the itch!

Magnificent

It took me some time to get into the game to understand what really made it work since it’s unique in it’s mechanics to other Kariosoft games but, once I did get into it I enjoy it thoroughly. Kariosoft is amazing in it’s games and well worth the money spent. Hours and hours of game play and inspiring for strategic approach. Often times I want to start from the top before even completing a save file which only extends the game play and experience I get from it. I adore this game and many more from Kariosoft. You give the app gaming community GREAT reputation. Keep it up!

Great game

If you love manager-type sim games then this you’ll love this one! Of all the Kairosoft games I think this one is the best yet. It’s fast, but also very complicated if you want it to be or it can be super simple: your preference and how you build your store. It’s a paid game so there’s ZERO micro transactions which makes the game feel more fun and the goals feel realistic and possible because of it. And because it’s ZERO micro transactions you can easily dump 6 hours into this game without noticing.
