Dicero! is a breath of fresh air in a sea of predictable RPGs. It takes the randomness that usually frustrates players and turns it into a compelling mechanical puzzle. The genius lies in the skill system; you start feeling like a victim of fate, but by the mid-game, you feel like a professional gambler who has rigged the deck. There's a profound satisfaction in rolling a '1' only to trigger a chain of passives that transforms it into a critical hit.
The game's pacing is excellent, introducing new dice types and enemy mechanics just as you feel you've mastered the current ones. The art style is minimalist but incredibly expressive, letting the mechanics take center stage. It's the perfect 'pick up and play' game that still offers enough depth for a two-hour session. If you enjoy roguelikes or strategy games that force you to adapt on the fly, Dicero! is an absolute must-play.
Unique Dice-Centric Combat System
Expansive Skill Tree Customization
Risk vs. Reward Strategy Mechanics
Charming Hand-Drawn Art Style
Challenging Boss Encounters
Prioritize skills that allow for rerolls in the early game. Reducing the variance of your rolls is the key to surviving the harder dungeons.
Assign your dice to different skills like Attack, Defense, or Support based on the enemy's current intent.
Yes, Dicero! is designed to be fully playable without an internet connection.
I’ve been thoroughly enjoying my time with this game. The level of detail—from managing individual departments to the complexity of the stock market and executive hiring—is exactly what I’ve been looking for in a business simulator. It’s refreshing to find a game that captures the nuances of running a company so well. However, I’ve hit a few hurdles regarding office space and HR management that could use some improvement. Currently, once a department hits its physical desk capacity (like my HR floor reaching 24/24), it’s difficult to expand without essentially rebuilding your entire operation in a new location. The game’s notification system also makes it tricky to manage staffing across multiple buildings, as it continues to prompt for more employees even when I’ve opened capacity elsewhere. It would be a huge quality-of-life improvement if there were better ways to manage inter-building departments or clearer tools for expanding headcount without needing to duplicate expensive executive teams. Despite these management bottlenecks, it’s a brilliant tycoon game that I highly recommend to anyone who loves deep, realistic strategy. Keep up the great work, devs!"
The game is really fun to play but there are two things it could use. 1, Being that there is no tutorial the learning curve is steep. My suggestion is that you should have a tutorial for the every aspect of the game (launching and IPO, staff management etc). 2 there is a bug where I turned off politics and I’m still getting gender equity fines from New York. Thank you for reading, sincerely a dedicated player
I was excited for this game’s release because it looked fun on the images. I can tell you I’m not disappointed! I like the fact that you have competition you have to beat while managing funds and the many different laws the cities will pass to try to hinder your growth. However every game has room for improvement 1. Tutorial When I started playing I was confused and especially for clueless younger users it will be hard for them to figure things out. A tutorial would be much appreciated. 2. Customization after starting After playing for a bit I’ve wanted the ability to change my name; or the difficulty but the ability isn’t provided. I know this would be a big ask but it would be nice to have those added abilities. 3. More cities This one isn’t necessary but I feel like more cities would make the game have more strategy and would take longer to have it all under your coffee empire. I know there are plantations in Jamaica, Colombia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Vietnam, and Indonesia but I would want cities in those countries too because it would make for a more interesting play style. (It would also even the distribution of cities (there are 0 in Africa and South America)). Overall this is a great game and deserves 5 stars.
This game is not terrible. But there is always room for improvement. First off, add a tutorial! You just get sent into the game without any explanation about what to do or how to get new coffee beans. Imagine if you were nine and had no idea about anything in the world. This game would not be ideal. I’m 16 so I know I few things since I take financial literacy. Secondly, when you are making a custom interior design, if you make a mistake, you cannot click undo. That is because there is no undo button. That needs to be fixed. Lastly, the music could be better. You only hear the music in the beginning and when you are looking at your coffee shop. There could be some light lofi music playing when you are looking at the map. There also needs to better music options. I more mean the “Deck the Halls” music. That needs to go. I’m sure this will all be done eventually.
This game is excellent for occupying your time while exercising your brain learning and adapting in business exploration. One minor adjustment I would make is standardizing the marketing protocols for each individual store as a preset that you can adjust. So you don’t have to go from store to store correcting what managers have undone or going to store to store and manually activating specific marketing tools. That becomes very time-consuming and takes the fun out of the growth part of the game.
When I was playing it I was wondering about something. How do you end the day? It’s so confusing to end the day. I set up like the office and I kind of forgot to save the game. I was so confused about it. Do you know how it can open when do the game end and when the day can end and how do you even end your day and how do you make more money? I know by the coffee store but how do you make more money?
I love the concept and the depth of the game. But I am dying for more convenient management tools. It’s very silly that I can’t easily review all my stores in one location. Even just being able to swipe to go to another store would be incredible and imo that’s the bare minimum of what should be present. The managers turning wifi and recycling on and off is also infuriating. I wish I could lock certain marketing so they can’t change it. Like company wide policies.
So I actually super enjoy playing this but there’s a few issues that need fixing: when buying selling stocks sometimes the values of what you’re paying or getting is wrong and not displaying properly, and secondly, for some reason I don’t know I just lost a save because my company went bankrupt but I had 400K in the bank and the week showed I earned 30k, so there should have been no reason I ran out of money.
