Disney Dreamlight Valley is the ultimate 'comfort' game. It takes the best parts of Animal Crossing and Stardew Valley and infuses them with high-budget Disney production values. The writing is surprisingly sharp, and the way the developers have managed to weave disparate characters like Stitch and Mother Gothel into one cohesive world is impressive.
The Arcade Edition is particularly great because it removes all the FOMO (fear of missing out) associated with microtransactions. You just play the game and unlock everything at your own pace. The performance on newer iPhones and iPads is stellar, though it is quite a battery hog. If you have any love for Disney, the sheer amount of content here is staggering. It’s a world you truly want to live in.
