Concordia: Digital Edition is the official adaptation of the top-tier strategy board game. Set in the era of the Roman Empire, players compete to build the most efficient trade network. Using a unique deck-building mechanic where cards represent both actions and scoring multipliers, you must balance expansion with resource management. Featuring beautiful artwork, cross-platform multiplayer, and multiple map expansions, it’s a deep and rewarding strategic experience.

95/100

Concordia: Digital Edition is one of the best board game adaptations currently available on the App Store. It faithfully recreates the award-winning strategic depth of the original tabletop game while using digital shortcuts to make the gameplay faster and more accessible. The game is a masterclass in 'elegant' design—it’s remarkably easy to learn, yet offers near-infinite strategic depth through its card-driven action system.

The UI is clean and does a fantastic job of managing the board's state, which can get quite busy in a 5-player match. I was particularly impressed by the AI, which provides a genuine challenge for seasoned players. The inclusion of cross-platform multiplayer and the smooth 'undo' functionality makes this the definitive way to play Concordia. It’s a peaceful, non-combative strategy game where efficiency and planning are your best weapons. Whether you’re a board game veteran or a newcomer, this is a must-have.

Great, but harder to play than the physical version.

It’s too much work to get an overview of the whole board, and the card display. There are enough pixels on the 12.9” iPad. Allow us to zoom out, instead of having to use the Production UI. Also, change that to be wider. Scrolling down to see other’s production shouldn’t be necessary. When selecting the display, allow us to hold down a finger to see all the cards, instead of having to go in, scroll, remember what we saw on the other side of the scroll area, and then hit X. The game itself is implemented excellently. You just need to work on the UX.

This game deserves a much higher rating!

Fantastic adaptation of a fantastic game! Truly one of the best “Euro” type games around (that fixes a lot of the annoying parts of Euro games) Unfortunately, when this app was released it was a bit buggy and so the ratings were low. But fear not, the bugs have been squashed and the app is now solid; after dozens, if not hundreds, of games in the past 7+ months I haven’t seen a single gameplay bug. If you like the base game, the “Season Pass” is well worth it; it gives you access to all new content that gets released. Especially nice if you have the physical game as you can try out new maps and expansions to see if you like them before shelling out the cash.

Horrible game ruining bug!
Sun Oct 29 2023 zebracadabra

UPDATED Oct 29, 2023: another bug, just as bad! Carefully planned series of moves ruined. Bought Consul, then played it, then used Magister to use Consul again, but it doesn’t work. Will email them with details, like I did with the previous bug but these guys don’t get back to you and since the Prefect bug is still there, they probably don’t care about us. Horrible way to treat customers. Can’t believe this still hasn’t been fixed. One of the best things about the game is being able to go through most of a turn, then change your move to compare. EXCEPT if you choose Prefectus first. If you then prefer a different move, you are TOTALLY AND IRREVOCABLY SCREWED. Press the arrow to end your turn with the preferred move, the board reverts to the Prefectus move and you can’t do anything about it. So I’m forced to continue with an inferior move and it’s a 9 point swing late in the game. I am so p-ssed!

Update: Fixed and Great! (Old: Near-Perfect But For a Glaring bug)

Update: Received a developer response saying that the bug had been fixed. I just checked and indeed it has been. I can strongly recommend this game and I appreciate the quick developer response! (Old: This is a fantastic implementation of a great game but I seem to have stumbled on a bug. I’m unable to place more than one colonist when playing the ‘Colonist’ card because it forces me to confirm the placement of the first colonist before I can place a second colonist. If there’s something I’m doing wrong or a fix is implemented I’d love to change this to a five star review.)

Best zoom in feature of all IOS boardgames

I was a little afraid of not liking this adaptation at first cause it looks a little different than the graphics on the physical board game, but once you get used to it, it is seamless, and you really can tell a lot of effort was put into the making of this. The pinch zoom in/out on this app is freaking awesome, it looks 3D-ish and the map looks high definition and old worldly. Also like adding AI bots for online play against a friend (which the Agricola app never did). Other board game developers should learn from the making of this. Very satisfied.

Great Game —- with bugs
Sun Aug 31 2025 Lparigi34

Great adaptation, a very good game indeed, even despite the bugs that are minor, but are many. E.g. Sometimes you can’t see you discarded cards; or if you select “Play Again” after you’ve finished a game, the game crashes; map and expansion windows keep popping up no matter how many times I tick the box to make them go away for good. And so on… Still, the game remains playable and is quite good. I have no idea how to write directly to the developer, apps here should have a button to make it possible.

Another Outstanding Digital Board Game from Acram
Wed Sep 29 2021 FEB777

Acram is one of my favorite developers of fun, faithful digital translations of board games. I really liked their digital edition of Eight Minute Empire and Love their digital Istanbul. This is another winner. I had heard great things about Concordia but couldn’t play it yet since my kids are still too young to play mid-weight board games. Now I Can, and this is a very fun digital edition. I’m looking forward to all the DLC’s - Acram, when can I buy the Season Pass to get Day 1 access too all the additional content?!? :-)

Fun but flawed (update: bugs fixed, game rocks)
Thu May 19 2022 Karl Schook

I picked up the game today and with one exception it is a blast. The tutorial is solid, the game is user friendly, and I can see why Concordia is so popular. The problem is that the game crashed a LOT. My iPad is relatively new but the game crashes nearly after turn. Hopefully this gets fixed soon. Update: the have been smooshed, there are no more crashes, and the game is fantastic.
