Various bug fixes
Civil War: Atlanta 1864 is a robust hex-based wargame that prioritizes historical accuracy over flashy arcade action. As a simulation of Sherman's Atlanta Campaign, it offers a deep tactical dive for history buffs and strategy veterans. The AI is remarkably competent, often punishing players who overextend their supply lines or fail to account for the defensive bonuses of rugged terrain.
The visual style is reminiscent of classic tabletop wargames, which adds to the gravitas of the experience. I particularly appreciate the 'unit morale' system—seeing a veteran regiment break under concentrated artillery fire feels authentic to the period. While the learning curve is steep, the inclusion of detailed historical scenarios and a comprehensive tutorial makes it accessible to those willing to put in the time. It is a serious, well-researched title that honors its subject matter through complex systems and rewarding tactical play.

Place your artillery on hill hexes for increased range and line-of-sight. Use them to 'soften up' fortified positions before launching an infantry charge. Defensive fire is key—always end your turn with units in a 'Guard' stance if they are in range of the enemy.
Attacking an enemy unit from two opposite sides provides a massive 'Flanked' debuff, drastically reducing their defense. Use cavalry to quickly move behind enemy lines while your infantry holds the front.
Yes, every scenario can be played from either the Union or Confederate perspective.
This game is so unrealistic, it belongs in the Fantasy and Sci-Fi genre. Game units night or might not move to designated hexes. Cannon have effect on units about 40% of attacks or less (this is truly bad, if one knows anything about Gettysburg or Fredricksburg.) The game needs serious revision.
