CarX Drift Racing 3 is the pinnacle of mobile racing simulation. Having played the previous entries, the jump in fidelity here is staggering. The tire smoke physics, the engine sounds, and the weight transfer of the cars feel more like a console sim than a mobile game. It’s not just about speed; it’s about the art of the drift. The way the game rewards you for maintaining high angles and proximity to clipping points is incredibly addictive.
The customization is where CarX 3 truly shines. The livery editor and mechanical tuning options are deep enough to satisfy any 'petrolhead.' You can tweak everything from tire pressure to suspension stiffness, and you actually feel those changes on the track. The multiplayer mode is also significantly more stable, offering smooth tandem drifting that is some of the best I've experienced on a smartphone. It’s a masterpiece for racing fans.
Next-gen physics engine
Online tandem drifting
Detailed car damage
Extensive livery editor
Use the handbrake to initiate high-angle drifts, but remember to feather the throttle to maintain your line. Counter-steering is essential to keep the car from spinning out.
Players can enter the garage to adjust wheel camber, toe, and differential lock, allowing for a personalized driving feel that suits their drifting style.
Yes, CarX Drift Racing 3 features full support for most MFi and Bluetooth controllers.
This is a review of some of the reviews to be seen by the Devs. The game is great, “realistic” wait times will only have you waiting a maximum of 2 hours. You’ll be fine. Just do the campaign races that give you 40k+ when you finish the challenges and you can pay for the wait time. Overall you’re spending like 75k on a full build instead of everything being priced $2,000 a part and the car costing you 100k+. Also look into sponsors challenges for quick cash. And dont take away the “parts” style you guys have. I love how everything needs to be unlocked piece by piece. I’ve noticed that when you have a game that used a money based unlocking parts method then you can just use real money to buy fake money and build a car and then you get bored and move to the next car and then you feel bad for spending real money on fake money and then you stop playing. the “dice roll” style parts acquisition is perfect, it makes you kinda gamble on if you’ll get it. Overall, I read the reviews and some of these suggestions are just whiny, petty, quick solutions that aren’t taking into account anything important. You guys have created the Battlefield 6 of racing games and some people want to play a new Black Ops 7 style game. They can find it somewhere else because it’s not here. Good job Developers, you’re doing great👌🏽🙏🏼
I think the game is great, i love how you can tell just how much work was put into it. Grinding is neither too easy or unnecessarily difficult. Id say the only issue i face is just how exact, or perfect each race needs to be due to the requirements put into them, and the drivers you race against(for campaign). Im about 90% done with the campaign, and the 10% is due to unbelievably insane expectations for the player. For example, in some races, the only way to successfully compete against the driver or one up them, is to drive ahead of them or get really close. But then you’re hit with the fair, and just, penalty for overtaking, and collision. I see and understand how these penalties for players are necessary, however, when the ai driver is able to pull insane racing lines, no adjustments, no decrease in speed, and no tire spin after exiting a drift zone(giving them an unfair speed boost) it makes trying to go against those penalties the only option. Next is the deceleration penalty. Its a completely understandable penalty. Except when youre going 130kmh into tight 180, where the only option is to slow down. Like what am i supposed to do? Lastly, i think the most important thing to me is offline play. Why do i need connection to play campaign?
2 things are keeping me from adding that 5th star to my review: “Rev when on handbrake” needs to be an option, as the revs often fall quickly when pulling handbrake even for a short time. This makes it tough to pull handbrake without bogging. The other thing is that the damage effects are a little weird. Why does the hood crumple while the bumper is still in perfect condition? Why does my door fly off if I hit a road sign or small pole? The damage could be a little more subtle. Small taps and bumps irl do not usually taco the chassis, but they do in this game. If at least the handbrake thing is fixed, I’ll update my review to 5 stars Other than that, this game is fantastic. Extremely engaging campaign mode that highlights 5 decades of drifting and basically takes you through the whole drifting origins and history, while teaching a lot of great techniques to those who may be new to drifting. Very intelligent AI for tandem in both lead and chase. Scoring system isn’t perfect but it’s way better than good enough. I love the garage and tuning/customizability as well. Progress in the game is right in the sweet spot where you can just fool around and do nothing or be a perfectionist and satisfy every criteria of the campaign for 100% completion.
I absolutely love this game and the aspect of building engines and even entire cars, the damage system is great but i think a little bit too arcadey for example if you lightly crashed into a wall i dont think the entire rear of the car would be smashed up. Now the graphics, in carxstreet which is my favorite game on mobile it has absolutely stunning graphics even on a middle graphics setting while also having an entire world to explore with no loading zones and my phone doesnt even get hot. However on the highest graphics mode on this game is way worse than what i expected for a carx game while also turning my phone into a stove top. One final thing i have to say is there is not a lot of cars or engines or anything. If there was as many cars as carx street then i would be so happy. Another thing like this is that it is not easy to get parts or cars and kind of gets tiring after spending two whole days trying to get one intake manifold for a 2jz i was building. In short id love to see some better and more optimized graphics especially since the game doesnt have to load in as many details or space as carxstreet, along with more engine and car options (as well as a way to buy parts easier) and maybe cut down the wait times for things by like 50% because it takes so long and takes me out of the game. And finally finally theres a bug with the analog accelerator option in the settings that doesnt let you complete the “full throttle objectives” Thank you so much for an amazing game so far and giving me something to obsess over after carxstreet. The carx company and game development team is amazing and produce the highest quality games ive ever seen on a phone. Thank you (sorry for all the yap)
Game in general is good, physics are great and fun, the drifting doesn’t feel bad at all. Game itself can be very much fun and enjoyable but tandems is a different story. You need to play tandems in order to gain top tier parts for your car problem is tandems can be extremely difficult. The AI drivers that you go against can be super unfair in pair with how the game scores your runs. I find myself grinding super hard just to get a 100 trophies just for it to be waaaay easier to lose it all in a row. The difficulty to winning tandems is not balanced with how easy it is to lose. I’ve had multiple tandem matches where the ai driver would crash either behind me or infront of me and still somehow gain 80-90 points for their runs as for me a small tap or slight budge in my run would cost me great amount of points. it’s completely unfair and unsatisfying. Although the gameplay itself is great, the tandem mechanics can make this game completely unbearable esp if you’re trying to upgrade your cars without spending your money. Tandems all in all can be really frustrating n and unfair esp if your car doesn’t have optimal parts. Not to mention that ai leads would get 80-90 points for the runs but straighten out during their run, screwing up ur chase run giving you a significantly less points compared to them.
I’ve been playing the car x drift racing mobile games for 7+ years and I love all of them. This one if by far the best as far as mechanics, customization, and engine noise goes. The break boosting aspect and the fact that the striker kits make a difference really shows the dedication that was put into this game. Especially as a mobile game. It’s insane imo. The V8’s do need some revising though imo. However, my main concern is the lack of modes like in the original car x drift racing game where you can drift or do time events to earn money. However, I mostly miss just being able to do the times racing events over and over especially on the old Milton map, on the Nürburgring for this game that would be a dream come true. Several people want this, please. I’ve completed the campaign and it’s hard to make money as easy and also not as fun considering the tandem events are with bots. Please add free roam with friends or random players, imagine being able to race your friends around a track or be able to practice drifting/tandem drifting with them! Please please please take my review into consideration!!! I love this game and the effort yall have clearly put into it!
I love the game’s important part (what it was made for), like drifting and racing, there are pretty much no problems there. The only one I noticed were the hitboxes of the controls, where you could put your finger about an inch above or horizontally to a control, and it would still activate. They should only activate when the control button is being pressed. In the crash physics part, there are quite a few. The first thing I want to say about them is, the car’s frame/chassis never deforms, it is only the car’s body parts, so high speed frontal crashes or rear crashes always just look like a 40 MPH crash. The next thing is, when the hood bends and deforms in a frontal crash, it does it well, but it always droops down into the front bumper spot of the car, and then the hood starts clipping through the engine or other parts under the hood. You could just turn on collisions for the car parts in-game, and it would work a lot better. I know this is a drifting simulator, not a game made for crashing cars, like FlexicX or BeamNG. Other than these physics glitches, I’d say this is a great game!
Fun game like the others in the Car X series, but lacks the charm of the first two drift titles. Instead of grinding free roam to build credits, in this installation you mainly play tandem battles or Top 32 battles as they pay the best. The biggest issue with this is a currently unbalanced tandem experience. There have been improvements in this in a past update, but they’ll need to refine it further to keep players engaged and promote a fun experience, on top of adding in new content like new cars and maps. Unfortunately as the game plays now, it’s possible to play some very unfair tandem battles. The bot/recorded run from your opponents will sometimes be incredibly sloppy, yet reward them with a winning score. I just had a battle where the lead car went wildly off the racing line and accelerated/deceled unpredictably. Now, this would severely impact any recorded run I make, resulting in a (fair) but low score. However the bots will score an (unfair) high score of 90 points plus. Hopefully we see some balance updates in the future that allow players to more fairly battle these bots until they can get some sort of live multiplayer experience going on, as well as adding more cars and maps to play on.
