Bug fixes to improve user experience and stability
Archaica: The Path of Light is an exceptionally beautiful puzzle game that focuses on the manipulation of light through ancient, crumbling ruins. The core mechanic involves placing mirrors, splitters, and color converters to guide lasers to their targets. While the 'laser puzzle' genre is crowded, Archaica stands out through its incredible atmosphere and world-building.
Each level feels like a piece of a forgotten history, with lore hidden in hieroglyphs for those who care to look. The puzzles scale perfectly in difficulty, introducing new artifacts like teleports and Tesseracts just as you master the basics. It’s a slow, methodical experience that rewards patience and logic, wrapped in a presentation that is among the best in the genre on the App Store.
Stunning 3D environments
Unique laser-based mechanics
Deep, hidden lore
Relaxing logic gameplay
The Divider is key for multi-trigger puzzles. Place it at the intersection of two paths to split your main beam without needing extra light sources.
Search the corners of each map for glowing hieroglyphs. Collecting these reveals the backstory of the ancient civilization you're exploring.
Yes, there is a hint system that provides direction if you find yourself stuck on a particularly complex light path.
At first the game didn’t work on my Ipad pro. I looked at options and turned some of the optimizations down and was finally able to do the tutorial and some of the first puzzles. The puzzles are challenging which is good. Hopefully the graphics problem will improve but it’s at least playable at this point. It has a zen tone to it but the choppiness keeps me from enjoying it fully.
Today I received a bill from Apple for this software which doesn't even open. When I called Apple they took me through downloading the app and checking for every possible reason why the app would not run. They could find nothing. It is a disgrace that Apple allows this to be put on their website and charges its customers for an item that does not work in spite of this sick manufacture of the product is still selling it on this website. What's wrong with this system. It's a total disgrace. Anybody who buys this program has something wrong with him
Fun and challenging puzzles. I was searching for the 3rd cell forever on “Statues of Scorn”, I finally watched a walkthrough and found out I can’t see the whole map on my iPhone 11. Needs a zoom feature. Scrolling isn’t great and rewatching a cutscene every time you accidentally click a cryptoglyph is obnoxious, and happens all the time. Game just needs a little cleaning up.
Good game. Controls are a bit buggy at times. Can't get the 3rd cell in Statues of Scorn because the screen won't scroll high enough.
Seems to have fixed and resolved any issues, and only 15 mins into this but can tell I am going to enjoy solving it. Very well done and see why it is a spotlight app too.
I loved the increasingly challenging puzzles in this game, and the gorgeous visuals. The story is nonsensical but it doesn’t feel important. One request for the developers: please a game reset (as opposed to the resets for every individual puzzle) so people can replay it from scratch without dumping iCloud memory.
I had not tried a Mac game since ... Myst. This was great for pulling me out of reality with its hypnotic music and geometrical puzzles, with a litte bit of Where's Waldo. Of course it did not work until I got my Game Center account working and logged it to it.
Fun game, somewhat challenging, good albeit overly forced mystical story line, gorgeous graphics, fun time killer. Ive paid a lot more for worse games!
