- 3 more bonus missions in Eta.
- Minor bugs are fixed.
good replacement for geodefense, but i agree that it would be more fun to pause and build/start upgrades for strategy. I beat all levels of beta except bonus, but gamma level 1 is unwinable by any means. I think it's a really bad idea to have everything move so fast. it's like entire waves can come through in under 2-3 seconds. it's less strategy at this point and just how fast can i repeatedly drop and upgrade towers, which makes it less fun then geodefense was. I also would like to see my high score compared to others, as well as see if i completed the level flawlessly, or with leaks. BUT its still awesome and i would pay $5-$8 for each level pack instead of $1 easily. update: nevermind, I beat every level, including gamma and bonus. keep difficulty high, but maybe add an easy setting. The only way to beat any of these higher levels is to stumble upon the fact that any tower built in the exit wavy circle gets double damage. very unclear on that.
I loved geodefense, and neoDefense is also lovely. I do wish there were different game modes like on the old app. Sandbox, where the difficulty is the same as regular, but you start with a large amount of money so you can strategize and figure each level out. That would be most welcome. Also Endless, where the mobs start out super weak and gradually increase to extreme difficulty so you can build up insane weaponry. A high score table for this would be awesome. Update: It’s been almost a year without any new levels, which is disappointing. Would really love an endless mode still. It would also make sense to put weapons on every level once you buy the expansion packs. I also wish new levels were introduced more frequently. Again, an endless campaign would be better to hold us over while waiting for more expansions.
Clearly taking much from geoDefence, neoDefence has several variations that improve on the original. The obvious difference is that the booster is effectively a fourth element as it only works with cannons and the cannons, the cannons must be adjacent the booster, and the cannon no longer shoots normally and cannot fire without power from the booster. This makes boost charge management vital and adds depth to the harder levels. Additionally the price of the weapons vary between level groups so the relationship between weapons and between upgrade levels for weapons changes as you progress.
Lots of beasties and cool graphics make this a fun game. Breeze through the first eight levels and then be ready to manage your resources responsibly. I’ve been looking for a simple tower defense game like GEODEFENSE and this is that game. Hey Developers: email me your script for those in-game messages after each round and I will happily fix the English into grammatically correct sentences. Or just hire a proofreader? It’s a great game. I hate to have your English speaking audience thinking you guys don’t know what you are doing when clearly you do.
I enjoy tower defense games and this game is among the best. It could be made better by adding priority to individual towers, like first, strong, weak, near etc. most importantly the game teases future levels but I guess that’s been the case for years. The levels are great and as you proceed they become more challenging, I have reached the end of game but there is one level I cannot beat, would pay for new levels gladly!
This game started out as a good update to GeoDefence. It is now mich more than that. A great example of how a developer can keep improving a game. I don't mind at all paying for new levels as they are developed, because they are always thought out and interesting. Would love to see iCloud saving. It is annoying to loose progress.
After the demise of Geowars—the best ever iOS tower defense game—I’ve searched for a good replacement. This comes closest but many of the advanced levels require really, really specific weapon layout that transforms them from almost impossible to really easy. Finding those layouts can be pretty random and sometimes is sensitive to arbitrary timing issues. That part of this game I really don’t like and just reflects laziness of the designer. For reference, I’ve played through Eta.
Really great game that has all the great qualities of a tower defense. This one is almost a replica of "geoDefense" which was a favorite of mine. My main issue is that the first several levels are almost too easy and then I got to level 11 (treble clef level) and have literally lost at the exact same spot 32 times in a row, trying as many combinations of tower strengths and locations as I can come up with.
