Thank you all for the feedback and support of iPitch!
In this release, I have made some small adjustments based on your feedback:
- Improved readability for Bid Bar, the Bid won star
- Increased Game Table playing card sizes slightly on iOS devices
- Resized Game Table playing cards for iPad to be sized more appropirately
I have been playing this game for many years and have consistently enjoyed it.
I just love this game. This is Absolutely the BEST Pitch app out there. AND I don’t have to watch ads. Thanks to the developers.
Great card game, finally in a great App!! This is a great looking game, smooth gameplay, and REALLY good AI. I love this card game and love it in this App. Update!! Nice!! The AI is even better (which really helps in Partner play!!)!! I can play this game for 5 minutes or two hours which makes it perfect for the iPhone!! The updates are a nice touch, Partner play is fun, having access to your music is great and LOVE being able to see the cards-won. Keep up the great work and I'll keep buying and recommending your Apps!! Still enjoying the game since the last update. There are few games that I leave on my phone for this long but iPitch is one of them. Can't wait for online/wifi play but until then I still love the game!!
Please go back to the old set up. The new screen is difficult and small.
What is happening??? Bold graphics, odd characters, slow speeds. Why are you changing this game?
I love this app and play it all the time. However the most recent version seems to have a bug (which wasn't in the previous versions) regarding scoring. For example, I had 18 points, and earned 3 points but the game calculated my total to be 20, instead of 21. Another example was when a computer had 12 points, then earned 4 points, and the game calculated their total to be 14, instead of 16. This happens almost every turn and is extremely annoying. If it wasn't for this, the game is 5 stars. Also, my friends and I play when you are given a hand where all your cards are 9 or below, you are given the option to set aside those cards and draw a new hand from the top of the deck (your old hand is not revealed). The flaw with this is you know 6 cards that aren't in play. However, it doesn't affect gameplay too much and is much more enjoyable than having a pitiful hand where you are bound to win nothing. I think this should be an option you can turn on or off in the settings. In some very rare cases where your hand falls under this condition but has 5 or more cards of the same suit, it might actually be an okay 2-bet (attempting to win the low and game points). Therefore, I suggest that when you obtain a hand where all your cards are 9 or below, allow the player to select if they would like a new hand, as opposed to just doing it automatically.
Pitch brings back so many great memories for me and I was pleased to find this little gem. Overall I enjoyed playing this game. I'd like to see a feature to enable auto arranging of your hand to save some time. The AI can be a bit hokey at times but I think future releases would tweak this. This version is exactly how I learned to play and it's nice to have the customizable rules that it does. Maybe a future release could add some of the other rule options others may be looking for. Though the tapping to continue does not bother me an automated trick feature might be an option for those who have issues. A fun addition might be some dialog during the game similar to Hoyle style computer card games. As I play this app I can hear my Dad spouting lines like "pitch em!" "you sandbagger!" , "Who dealt this mess?", "you're up the river!" and "this isn't a hand it's a phone number!" I'm very pleased and looking forward to future releases! I haven't tried the other pitch game available on the app store but so far this one seems to be doing the trick for me.
I can’t comment about any potential update to the engine because I can’t stand playing long enough with the update to the interface to make any determination. I’ve seen reviews that are years old, so maybe the latest update is to breathe some life into the app, but to what end? No landscape mode, current game score not visible during play, on an iPad the cards are small and hard to differentiate, spade icon is clumsy, and half the game table is empty space. Even the smallest things, like displaying points after the hand vertically instead of horizontally, make things more difficult. I can’t think of one change that I would consider an improvement instead of an outright step backwards . Show this version versus the version it replaced to a hundred people, ask each which was the more advanced and feature rich, and you’d get a hundred people who would INSIST the old version is the more current. I must be missing something. A resounding “boooo” on this update.
