3D Engine Updates
iBASEjump is a pure adrenaline-fueled simulation that captures the terrifying thrill of B.A.S.E. jumping. The first-person perspective is effective, especially when you're standing on the edge of the CN Tower or a cliff in Norway. It’s less about complex mechanics and more about the 'rush' of the jump and the timing of your parachute deployment.
The variety of locations is impressive, covering famous landmarks all over the globe. The 3D engine has been updated over the years to keep the visuals looking crisp, and the addition of mid-air tricks like backflips and 360s adds a layer of skill to the experience. It’s a niche simulation, but for anyone who has ever wondered what it’s like to leap off a skyscraper, it’s a very satisfying digital experience.
30+ real-world jumping locations
First-person 3D perspective
Perform tricks: backflips, 360s, and dives
Updated HD graphics and 3D engine
Realistic physics and terminal velocity simulation
Choose your location and stand on the edge. Swipe to jump and use the on-screen controls to perform flips or adjust your dive speed. Watch your altitude carefully—you only have a few seconds to deploy your chute before impact. Aim for the target landing zone to maximize your score.
The gameplay focuses on the 'jump' and 'flight' phases of BASE jumping. Players must manage their aerial orientation to perform tricks and time their parachute pull perfectly to survive and land accurately.
It stands for Building, Antenna, Span (bridges), and Earth (cliffs)—the four categories of objects you can jump from in the game.
I own all of the skydive / base jump games for the ipod touch. This game in particular looks horrible. I am a game developer and I know what the ipod touch is capable of displaying. I am not just someone talking beyond my knowledge. The natural textures look awful. In fact, sometimes I have no clue what I am looking at. It almost looks like you are jumping in a room with blobby green textures supposed to be the landscape. Terrible. I am giving it 2 stars because I love the effort of having 14 different locations, even if these locations look so terrible. The Sears tower is OK, that's about it. I also have a big problem with the gameplay. The controls are bad. Up and down arrows on both sides of the screen which don't feel natural at all. A lot of games force the accelerometer on you because it's there, but this is a game where the accelerometer could have been put to much better use. I would also like to see a 3rd person option. I have PURCHASED over 400 games for my ipod touch, and this is one of the very few times that I felt regret, like I was fooled into something. Unfortunately, I am not sure that this game can be fixed in one or two updates...may take 4 or 5 VERY STRONG updates. Sorry Sea Venture, I really wanted to like this one!!! You picked some really cool locations!
thank you for allowing me to waste money on this garbage that is absolutely nothing even remotely close the BASE jumping.
Pretty good
This game is just ok for now but can be really good with a few updates. Pros: -realistic looking buildings, -great sense of flight Cons: -all the other textures besides the buildings look really bad, blockish, and blurry - only way to earn points is to to mindless spins and flips -parachuting sequence is poor -parachute looks very bad - no 3rd person view Requests and considerations for future: - improve natural landscapes - add ability to control where you land when parachuting and add a target to hit for extra points! - 3rd person view with customisable characters and parachutes - more locations of course - other basejumpers with you (competing for points) - wingsuits - ability to earn points easier without just spinning around as fast as possible -change red and green screens after jump Is completed. They look terrible - online highscores Only a few of these suggestions would make this game much much better!
I love this game!! I've been skydiving a few times but have never been able to base jump. This game gets really close to the real feeling of free falling. Other reviewers have said that the nature graphics are too blocky and blobby, but that just makes it more realistic because when you're falling that fast your brain literally cannot process everything you're seeing. Definitely will be playing this when I'm bored in class!!
Yea..... This app NEEDS better graphics, and more locations. I would like to see an airplane jump, more city jumps, and an extreme 100,000 foot jump. All in all I like the locations so far, but hate the graphics. I would say for anyone who likes extreme apps, to buy it. ( even though it is over priced) If you do buy it, you will probably feel the same way, but this is by far the most extreme parachuting app.
This is possibly the best app I have, and i have tons of apps! Still love it way after I got it. I just wish there were some more user levels. Everyone should get it. There are like 30 levels, though I still want more. Should make a really high one. Get it. First I got the lite version, LOVED IT, got paid version 100X better and the lite was good. Awsome app everyone get it.
I don't normally write reveiws, or pay for apps, but this is the execption. Great game. But it could use some more building levels. O and it's ok that there are a few images of girls in bikinis. When ever you go to the beach you see that. It's not a big deal stop whining. If you hit the home button after each level it saves.
