iAggravation is a faithful digital recreation of the classic board game that has ended many friendships. For those who grew up playing the physical version, the transition is seamless. The app captures that specific mix of luck and low-stakes strategy that makes Aggravation so addictive. Tapping the die to roll and seeing your marble hop around the board is satisfyingly tactile.
The inclusion of local pass-and-play makes this a fantastic digital board game for family gatherings. It’s simple, unpretentious, and doesn't clutter the screen with unnecessary animations. While it lacks an online matchmaking system, the AI provides a decent challenge for solo players. It’s exactly what it says it is: Aggravation in your pocket.
1 to 4 player local gameplay
Classic and custom board rules
Challenging AI opponents
High-speed dice rolling and animations
Clean, traditional board aesthetics
If you land exactly on the center 'Super' hole, you can jump to any other corner in a single move. This is the fastest way to victory, but be careful—it's also the easiest place to get knocked back to start!
Aggravation is won through defense. If you have the choice, always prioritize landing on an opponent's marble. It resets their progress completely and gives you more breathing room to reach your Home.
Yes, you can set up a game with any combination of human and AI players.
In a recent update, the game took away the ability to use the star path. This was what I grew up with. The original board that I remember when I grew up had six players on it and the game took that away. You can now only do six players on the party board. I’m a little disappointed with the updates. I probably won’t be playing this game much more. It really is disappointing now.
This is super nostalgic for me. My family was a gaming family and before I had a car we would play simple board games at home. I owned this one, and brought it out as often as possible. So I was very happy to find the one version of this in app form. For the most part this is the game I remember. I like the chance to tweak the look of the board and marbles, as well as the ability to really alter the other players' abilities. The one complaint I have, and I see this was not addressed in the update, is sound. It gets to me after a bit when everything is totally silent. The die should have a sound, the marbles should make an appropriate click sound as they move around the board. Music isn't necessary, just sound basic sound. Please. I would also add the ability for the game to play in horizon as well as portrait mode. There are times I wish to play yet have the screen angled upright on my cover but that’s I possible, the game has to be played flat on the able. Not good for my neck.
I think the game is fine. We’ve only played one game, so I may have a different review later. We played on my phone - which was too small. I see today that I can download an older version to my iPad. So we’ll see how that is. One suggestion. Our house rules are - if you don’t get out after 3 rolls you can come out on the 4th roll. -You still roll, in case you get a 1 or 6 to roll again. - My hubs played nearly the whole game and didn’t roll a 1 or 6 until the game was nearly over. Such a bore when you can’t play. Be nice if that was an option. We call it the “pity” rule. 🙄. I bought the game because of your responses back to the previous reviewers. I wanted to bring up the average on your stars.
This used to be a great game. There were some occasional glitches, but they didn’t happen often. With a recent update, though, it’s essentially unplayable. I play partners, two mine and two the computer. Nearly every game, at some point a computer player is unable to use a move and 1) the app attributes the unused roll to my player, 2) the app makes that move for my player, 3) the app rolls for my player, 4) the app again moves for my player, and 5) the app then rolls and moves for my player each turn until the computer player is again able to use a roll. When/if this is corrected, I’ll happily update my rating & review — again, it used to be a pretty good game. But as it is, don’t waste your time.
Aggravate a marble you get to roll again If you are on the corner you can roll a 1 or a 6 to jump in the middle You can aggravate a marble in the in the home column but you have to roll the exact amount to get get out. Ex jump in an opponents home with a 3 and aggravate you have to get out of the opponents home with a 3 Only If you roll double 1’s or double 6’s you get to roll again 5 marbles instead of 4 Bigger board where a 1 and a 6 gets you on the corner We play this at the firehouse, we call it marbles. It would be nice to have these options available to practice on our phones.
This app is working just fine and is a lot of fun. There must have been updates since when those reviews were made. There is nothing wrong with this app and I highly recommend it.
Occasionally a player just goes around the entire board without rolling the dice. Beginning of the game if you get out on 1 or 6 and have a 4 computer automatically plays forward for you, if you don’t like that move and want to replay then you lose your turn.
This is a fun game to play and is worth buying. This developer really cares about making it better. Thanks for the update.
