iFishing Fly Fishing Edition is a wonderfully serene departure from the fast-paced 'power' fishing games that dominate the store. It captures the meditative quality of fly fishing perfectly. The casting mechanic—using the accelerometer to mimic the back-and-forth motion of a fly rod—is the best in the genre. It feels rhythmic and natural rather than gimmicky.
The environments are stunningly quiet; you really feel like you’re on a remote river in the Rockies. The fish AI is particularly impressive; they won't just bite at anything. You have to match the hatch, choose the right fly, and present it without 'spooking' the trout with a heavy splash. It’s a sophisticated, relaxing, and technically impressive sim that respects the sport of fly fishing.

Tips & Walkthrough
Hold your device vertically and flick it back and forth to build line speed. Wait for the line to fully extend behind you before moving forward to ensure a long, accurate cast onto the water.
Gameplays
Check the 'Hatch' menu to see what insects are active on the water. Selecting a dry fly or nymph that matches local conditions will significantly increase your strike rate.

Sat Feb 11 2012 lightkeeper007Great game, even if more limited in locations and target fish than the other two editions, the original and the SE. The update did nothing special. I'd love a newer version with more target fish and more locations.

Thu Feb 17 2022 Jeffro42Glitchy. I can have several fish and good weight in a tournament and the game just quits with about 3 minutes left. This has happened 4 times. When you reopen the app, it asks to continue, but all of what you have earned is gone. It’s also not very realistic as to types of fish in certain locations. Waste of .99

App Crashes and Loses Achievement

Sat Apr 23 2011 Big buck bobThis game is very fun but you need to be able to fish a photo!!! There also needs to be more types of fish. To illustrate, some warm water fish such as bream or bass. Along with these warm water fish there needs to be warm water places. Also one would need some warm water flies such as a popping bug or some kind of dry fly, like a spider. Lastly the depth perception on the lucky tree or what ever is way off and needs to be fixed. I would be very sad if an update doesn't come soon. Then I might give it five stars.
