iFishing 3 is widely considered the gold standard for realistic fishing simulations on mobile, and for good reason. It moves away from the 'arcade' style of most fishing games and leans heavily into the tactical side of the sport. You aren't just tapping a button to reel in; you're driving a boat, using a photo-realistic fish finder, and selecting specific lures based on the weather and time of day.
The '3' in the series brought significant graphical upgrades. The water effects and the backgrounds of the various lakes (from glacial peaks to swampy everglades) are immersive. Reeling in a trophy bass feels like a genuine battle, requiring you to manage line tension and rod angle carefully. For those who can't get out to the lake in real life, this is the most relaxing and authentic alternative available on the App Store.
17 unique and unlockable lakes
Realistic fish AI and variety of species
Full boat control with sonar/fish finder
Customizable tackle box and lures
Career mode with tournaments
Start by driving your boat to an area with underwater structures like logs or weeds. Check your fish finder; once you see icons, select a top-water lure for morning sessions or a deep-diver for midday.
Enter timed events where you must catch the heaviest total weight of fish. Manage your time between traveling to spots and the actual fight to climb the leaderboard.
The game features a 'Livewell' where you can store your best catches to view later in your trophy room.
Biggest issue! This is a paid app. Not an upgrade or lite version. Why do I get an ad? Other issues include: Less than realistic depth and casting perception. Difficult directional control casting. Background assistant should be optional. I don't need someone incorrectly telling me my fish is to small when it's actually the wrong species. Never in any tournament does timeout occur with a fish on line. Nough said there. On the favorable side. Graphic backgrounds are nice. Most of the time landing the fish is ok. Just ok. Some timing issues and line break conditions need help. I will continue to use the app in hopes that future revisions will make this more enjoyable.
This app is literally almost unplayable. I have yet to get through a ten minute tournament without the app closing and bumping me back to my iPhone's main screen. Considering tournament mode is the only mode in the game that lets you unlock items through cash earnings, the game can therefore be deemed "unbeatable". Also, even if the game didn't crash, the developer has removed the beloved boat mode that was in the first I Fishing which gave about twice as much depth and strategy to the game. Why he would remove such a nice aspect of gameplay is beyond me. I can only assume he has done so to make a quick three dollars. I have an updated iPhone 6 that I take care of, so if I have problems running the game so will you. It's a shame, the game had real potential.
It's good ! BUT it shuts down in the middle of anything !! Very frustrating! Paid $2.99 and can't even play it ! And no "contact" option to contact technical support ! Need update or something to fix ! Will change review if this gets fixed
Whenever I have a darn fish on The game shut off during tournaments.
It will work for a Minute then it stops working please fix cause it seems like an awesome game
Bought it for use on Apple TV. Could barely use it and before even catching a fish had to give up. The graphics, if you could even call them that, are a hideous blend with real video that just doesn’t work. Going to try and get a refund for sure.
I loved this game to death All up until I had the game shut off and bring me back to the home screen 3 times I was about to win something And it exited out and I lost all of the progress I worked to get FIX THIS GAME UPDATE IT SO IT DOESNT GLITCH OUT I love this game But I can't play it until it gets fixed FIX THIS GAME NOW!!!!!
Don't waste your money on this "improved" version. It crashes consistently during play. Tournaments are 10 minutes long and unlike previous versions of this game you may no longer chose where you wish to fish, which challenge to fish, nor can you fish another spot during tournament play. You must win tournament prize money to buy more lures, poles, and fishing line. However these upgrades are $1000's if not $10,000's of dollars and the max you win at a tournament is $300. The only positive thing about this "new" version of the app is kids mode. But seriously it is so not worth wasting real money on. Buy the other two apps not this one. They ruined it.
