Wild Thing Poker puts an original spin on seven-card stud. In this variant, the active wild card is determined by the number of cards in your hand: 3s are wild with 3 cards, 5s are wild with 5, and 7s are wild with 7. Make strategic 'bet or fold' decisions across three wagers and aim for massive payouts, including a 1,000-to-1 return for a seven-of-a-kind. It's easy to learn but offers deep strategy for seasoned players.

Our Expert Score

81/100

Wild Thing Poker is a refreshing and highly original spin on seven-card stud. The core hook—that the wild card changes based on how many cards are currently in your hand—adds a brilliant layer of strategy that I haven't seen in other video poker titles. Having 3s wild for the first wager, 5s for the second, and 7s for the third means you are constantly reassessing the value of your hand.

The game is easy enough for a novice to pick up, but the 'bet or fold' decisions provide the kind of strategic depth that experienced poker players crave. The payouts for six-of-a-kind and seven-of-a-kind (up to 1,000 to 1!) make the third wager incredibly exciting. The graphics have been recently updated, and the tutorials are clear. It truly lives up to its name—it gets wild very quickly.

Q&A

It depends on the stage: 3s are wild initially, then 5s when you have five cards, and 7s when you have seven.
