Very Fun Survival Grind

The game is very fun, challenging but not too hard and the difficulty scales. I have definitely hit a point where completing many of the quests I want is very difficult. This puts me into grind grind grind mode. To level up and craft good enough gear. I have definitely been frustrated by this but I just take breaks from the game and come back when I’m bored and willing to chisel away at it. I have invested in some supplies but some of the sales are really good. By level 55 I have not yet spent as much money as I would have been willing to give for a one-time-purchase game like this. Very worth it so far. UPDATE: I started the game over after level 58 or so and am enjoying my time much better. I’d advise people to get into the game and understand it before spending money. The attacks on my ranch scaled up in difficulty too quickly but now I know how to avoid that. I’m now almost level 70 and having a great time. Still happy to pay one or two USD occasionally when the deals are very good. It is normal for games like this to tighten the noose and make building more expensive overtime. This has happened rarely and from what I can tell of older discussions/vids on the game, the developers have made many strides to make some things less expensive actually, like the number of spirit points required. This is the main reason I am happy to spend money. The game has stood the test of time.

Could be a 5 star game but isn’t yet

I’ve played everyday since I downloaded a month ago. On level 57. Haven’t came across horseshoes for ever. Still need 2 for a horse. The cons are you constantly having to spend multiple hours collecting resources and is very difficult to obtain a decent gun. When you finally get a decent game where you can be competitive in tasks you lose it after a mission then have to start all over to gather resources and the places you need to go to get the resources to rebuild a decent gun ….you need a decent gun to get thru the spot. You should be able to keep your gun and collect resources to build bullets for your gun. After playing so long and having fun I’m at at point of not playing anymore due to the fun being taken away from my previous points. Could definitely be a 5 star game if they would make a few changes. I have all projects built with many being level 3 and still having to collect resources like I started on day one level one. I enjoy collecting resources but come on. All that time to just have it take away after one mission? And I’ve been to the shootout spot many times with no horseshoes. I’ve tried to purchase a couple but never have a good deal for them. I’m stuck on building s stable and completing chapter 3. Shouldn’t take this long especially how much I’ve played. I think Ed sky would agree about not taking our weapons away after we run out of bullets. Anyhow 5 star rating would come if you made better changes.

Fun game with potential

This is a fun game with potential as some more features could be added. There seems to be a bug that after a while the game starts to lag, but only found something saying that it need 1.5GB of RAM and restart phone. That did not fix the issue for me, only re-installing did the trick, which leads me to believe that RAM handling is different with iPhone. Also a guide explaining how horses works or the different expansion areas would be helpful. Not sure how breeding works or how to get a better horse aside from buying them with money. Found by experience that it is not worth going beyond the wall without a horse as you can’t walk in the cold and need to run or ride. A bigger chest in the indigenous tribe area would be helpful as I have a bunch of wolf fangs, but can’t take them all at once with limited space. Side quests are helpful, but they dwindle down the longer you progress, just a bit more effort, in game news would help and also marketing in order to get more people hooked up. Having played last day on earth, this game is similar, but just needs to be more methodical in showing updates and seasonal events. Again, it has potential as I like the survival theme better that zombies in general.

Not sure why all the high reviews

Not sure why the game has such high reviews. I’m guess they are paid for reviews and reviews from devs. I gave the game 3 stars and I think that is a honest and generous amount considering. Let’s start with clothing. Clothing doesn’t drop for squat and it wears out so fast it’s almost a pointless addition to the game, same with weapons and tools. considering they want real money for chests that may give you a random items that will last you one mission or more if your lucky. Now let’s talk travel. You get 3 chances to run to your locations after that it’s 20 minutes to walk anywhere so in other words it’s almost impossible to get much done in one sit down. In a nut shell this game screams give us your money idiots and we are gonna give you as little as possible in return. I find this sad, games like this have such great potential but are always made by greedy people so they are broken from the day it launches. My advise don’t waste your money just play once in a while when your measly energy cap is filled and shoot for lvl power and say F the clothing. Don’t give them a dime till they give us more time to play and have fun for free. Actually clothing back in the day was made better then it is now. Sorry Even in the Wild Wild West clothing lasted longer then a day lasted longer then hours that includes bar brawls and shoot outs.

Had to drop a star new neighbors?

I love this game and have been playing almost since creation. Every update has been more impressive than the last and the one thing I had a problem with (new healing) was fixed so now you can see how high the heal will go. But, this new update with the neighbors is SO disappointing. Before, 200 coins for a neighbor gave great chances to get a large array of items that would take a long time to gather by themselves. The owner being there gave some risk, but then just using an axe to chop down the walls was fun. The new neighbors take massive amounts of dynamite to loot with very small amounts (or nothing) of new supplies. The limited I have gotten were very low level. I wasted about 1,000 coins saving up neighbors to go loot (I like buying weekly then raiding all I can in one go) for neighbors that now I don’t even want to waste the energy to go see after I was so disappointed. I wasted all my dynamite and wasn’t even able to go everywhere, I wasted my oats bringing my wagon to the neighbors (and back), and I wasted my coins to get the map. I sincerely hope this part of the update is revoked. The massive loss of coins, oats, and dynamite with no warnings from the creators and no compensation (like sometimes with updates) is making my review go from 5 stars previously, to 4.

Excellent Survival Game

Stumbled upon this game one day when LDoE wasn’t loading. I must say I am truly impressed. It’s based on the same game engine as LDoE but a breathtakingly impressive take on the western genre. It is a lot more FTP (free-to-play) friendly than any of the other survival games out there - I got my horse (the chopper equivalent of LDoE) on my second day of gameplay and the map is peppered with rare resources as well as powerful weapons. You simply must love the repair bench concept where you can repair almost broken rare weapons and armor for a fraction of the crafting cost -probably the best aspect of the game yet !!!! And the new canyon trials have made this game even more FTP friendly for gaining coins, fuel and rare resources. Keep up the good work guys, and make sure you don’t lose sight in the future of what made your game better than LDoE at the start !!!!! Truly an excellent game !!!! UPDATE : After the latest update 0.9.8, my save file has reverted to a month ago. All my progress in the past month or so is lost. Almost 2000 coins, 14 rings, a ton of oats and oak, not to mention a lot of weapons and steel and high end clothes - ALL GONE. No word from the developer yet. Hope I get it back else I'll probably stop playing. UPDATE: BEST DEVELOPER EVER!!!! THEY RESPONDED AND PROMISED CORRECTIVE ACTION!!!

Really hard to progress/find stability

I would rate it 3 stars but it’s a very quality game and I feel bad. It’s just greedy, in money and how long items last. Guns and weapons get spent so fast, I wish they’d last longer. Feels like all I focus on doing is finding ore to make more guns that last 2 travels max. I’m at the stables quest right now and the bandit places where you find that stuff have just jumped to level 60 which feels virtually impossible. I thought I’d finally be good with the level of weapons I have but.. no. Also I wish you physically couldn’t use healing ointments/vials (excluding food) if you’re at full health. Because sometimes my palm would hit the vials and boom… just lost my backup health just before being attacked by anything and everything. Wish I could’ve finished the stables, but now it feels like I’d have to wait a really long time since the levels have gone up. AND THE FISH? THATS SO STUPID, YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO FISH. Fish are the only way you can repair really good weapons and armor… but it’s virtually impossible to find. That’d honestly fix sooo much. Like yeah it could still be hard to fish, like bait would have a high fail rate or whatever and bait is time consuming to craft.. but it feels the only way you can is by paying money

2 problems right from the start

I’ve played Last Day on Earth before this and found this game. Sick of the survival games all being against zombies so figured I’d try this game. I just started playing the game. Still low lvl only lvl 5 but so far there’s 2 big things that irk the hell out of me. One problem is functional and the another is aesthetic. First problem, your hunger and thirst meters don’t show while ur running around playing the game. U have to go into the inventory menu view to see the hunger and thirst meters which is highly annoying. Seems like a no brained that your hunger and thirst meters should show next to the health meter without having to go into a menu to view them. Duh. Second problem is just aesthetic but also seems like a common sense thing as well. For some reason u can only play as a pale old white guy. U can change ur player name but apparently u can’t change anything about how ur player looks. So every humanoid character in the game all seems pale white males. U should give people the options of changing their characters sex, skin color, hair color, maybe even hair style. Also, side note but a bit disappointed to see there’s zombies in the game. I’m so over that trope. You’d think there would b enough options for enemies in an old west setting without having to resort to dumb zombies but I guess not.
