Warsurge is a bit of a niche tool, but for tabletop wargamers, it’s a game-changer. It’s not a 'game' in the digital sense, but an incredibly flexible companion app that lets you build and balance your own miniatures games. The 'Lifetime' version is the way to go because it removes the subscription barrier.
The level of customization is insane. You can take any physical models you own—be it from 40k, fantasy, or historical games—and give them stats that are balanced against the internal Warsurge system. It’s a bit of a learning curve to set up your first roster, but the ability to play 'cross-universe' matches with friends is worth the effort.
Use any miniatures from any brand or genre
Advanced mathematical balancing system
Roster sharing via QR codes
Integrated game trackers and digital tools
No subscription required for Lifetime version
Go to the Roster Builder and select 'New Unit'. Choose their base stats (Move, Melee, etc.) and add perks or weapons. The app automatically calculates the 'Point Cost' to keep things balanced.
During a physical game, use the Play Screen to track health, activate abilities, and roll digital dice if you don't have physical ones handy.
No, this is a companion tool for physical tabletop wargaming with miniatures.
Love the rules, old school GURPS player, used to doing point build RPGs. And the app is 110% worth the price for all the free rules to just tap the screen and be ready to drop a teleporting hover tank full of chainsaw horn helmet space marauders. Or whatever you can make up.
