It’s good but it’s lacking some aspects.

So in previous games there were certain aspects that made the game more enjoyable and more worth playing- having to buy groceries and medicine. The flea market so you could get things on sale, you could cook for your family and place them at the table to make them eat (can’t do that in this yet and my kids just starve until they are old enough to cook, even if I can get an adult to set the table nobody will eat) can change their careers and actually had to log some time to get their careers higher level. it made it so you’d actually want to play it a few times a day, make sure your little people are good! Currently I don’t have any real reason to play it everyday. I just kinda wait until my people are old, log in occasionally to collect their gold and start a new family. Sometimes my people get stuck with certain bars like hygiene at 0 and even when I make them shower it won’t go up, OR they refuse to shower I do love how the kids don’t immediately leave when they are 18, building your own home is super fun! the contests are a cool concept along with the neighborhoods! Great features. I can see the game is still being developed so I will continue playing I just hope to see some of the old features make a come back in this game to make it more enjoyable.

It has good bones

I’ve been playing the VV/VF games since I was 10 and I’m 24 now, I have nothing but love for them. This newest installment shows a lot of promise and there’s tons innovation like letting you build your own house from the ground up and having a whole neighborhood to look after but unfortunately this game at the moment is a glitchy mess. First the placement of rooms, windows, and doors is horrifying! You can’t rotate rooms, remove windows, or move the placement of doors. This leads to awkward routing, windows in the internal rooms of the house, and a door leading to the outside in your literal bathroom! Being able to place doors yourself needs to be at the absolute top of your list for the next update. Also placement of objects is glitchy, counters don’t touch the walls, inability to place towel holders, and your toilet shrinking in size when you try to change its direction, it’s all so silly. Also I’ve had a creepy glitch where all my family members upon being adopted get these ugly red/pink eyes that are unsettling to look into. Please focus on fixing building tools and maybe even adding more interaction between family members. In the earlier VF games there was movie nights, parents encouraging children to brush their teeth, and calling everyone to sit down for a nice meal. VF communities makes everyone feel like roommates living together. Once again my review comes with nothing but love, y’all made my childhood but I also know you can do a lot better!

Really Frustrated

I loved the original game, but this one feels a bit soulless. It has a feature i always wanted, the customizable outfits, but that’s the only improvement i really see. I get an emergency every freaking day if I clear the old one and it’s annoying. You have to pay 2000 coins to clear it and if you don’t you can’t build or upgrade the house! It’s especially annoying when you’re trying to save coins to make the house look better. And now I want to uninstall the game because the family I’ve been playing since the start has just had its last heir die after not being able to have kids! The game makes it way low of a chance to have kids!! She was 26 or smth and her spouse was 24 and they failed to have a kid?! Then in their 30s, 40s, 50s, and 60s! In the start I’d have 4 to max kids but all my newer gens have 1-3 kids!! Now that my last heir has died I just don’t want to play anymore unless there’s a way for her to be revived but I don’t see that being added without a paywall and I’m to broke for that. Oh yea, a lot of cool new items are locked behind paywalls, it’d be nice if there was side quests to try and get them like have your guys cook x times, earn x money, ect pr be able to buy it.

Virtual families games have always been a fun way for me to kill time since I was in middle school! I love the decorating concept etc. but the game is still in its really early stages and can be very glitchy. The main annoying glitch is furniture clipping, so if you put something on a table it will clip after some time and all of the things you put on a table etc just disappear under the table. It can be pretty frustrating and it happens almost immediately if you go to paint the walls or floors etc. so it'd be great if that can be fixed so furniture stays where it is put including on tables. Additionally the game can glitch in general I had it happen where blur effect stays in an area, babies that are suppose to be born glitch away if you move them occasionally etc. more furniture options would be great too but again I know it's still early! Lots of potential and so far fun but the glitches can really be frustrating at times. ALSO the contests are so glitched anytime I go to vote it's the same two images FOR EVERY-PERSON. Makes me feel likes it's bot accounts? But makes no sense how every person uploaded same image with same people etc.

I like the game a lot because I enjoyed virtual families 3, but there are a few things that are a little buggy like random doors you can't fix, not being able to rotate rooms to your desired liking, the people constantly get stuck on nothing, or there aren't certain walls in the bathroom where you'd be able to place towels or mirrors etc, only one person eats at the dinner table when a meal is made and sometimes it isn't even the person that made the meal, there are no pets, and the plot is kind of small I don't know if it gets bigger when you move but I can't tell as I'm still in a low level lol, and the parents sleep in the kids bed room, when they are using the rest room or dirty dancing the blur is a little excessive the way it stretches when you move the screen or whatever, the dad is also putting on making but I can't judge... and again no pets😔😔 (I want a fur baby so badlyyy) but I didn't make this review to complain I actually like the game a lot I just know it would be a lot more fun with more opportunities!! Take care!

Has potential but needs a lot of work

So I would like to start with some praise. I love the neighborhood aspect. I like interacting with the npcs, doing community projects, and seeing them all do weird things. I love being able to customize the layout of the house and decorate how I want. Mostly. However. I will criticize actual gameplay. There just isn’t anything to do between decorating. And events are slow. Maybe it picks up more or it’s faster for some other people? But I’ve had the game open for nearly an hour before hoping to get my person married and not a single popup occurred. She is 42 and still unmarried with no children because we can’t afford adoption that isn’t guaranteed and proposals don’t come through while I’m away like with other VF games. So I guess this lineage will die out? I don’t know. I’m conflicted. I’m curious but it’s just so… boring right now. It could definitely be a winning game for me if there was more or if pop ups remained, similar to emails in VF 3 or otherwise.

Glitchy, much less to do than previous games

I love the Virtual Families series, and the idea of communities seemed interesting, but upon playing the game I ran into to a series of glitches and issues. One being that part of the screen was cut off making gameplay feel janky, another that when making a baby a blur occurred and would zoom in on random objects until I restarted my game. The sounds for praising and scolding have been scrapped, as well as the visuals showing I have applied it, making it hard to tell if the effect worked or not. Food is also now invisible and you can’t purchase it. Children won’t come to eat when parents make food. Lastly, in the community, I expected there to be more interactions available, but it seems the only purpose for other homes is to collect collectibles. There are no other interactions with neighbors. Overall, it felt as if the game’s development was rushed and many small but important features I loved were scrapped. This feels like a project in the making, not a real game.

Please think about making these changes

Overall the game is pretty fun, but with more changes I think users would find more enjoyment. 1. I really wish we could have more than 8 kids per couple. With that it can also be really difficult for your family to have kids. Meaning it takes multiple cycles before they’re successful, and there’s a wait. 2. After a certain point you max out on what level house you can have. When starting a new generation it would be fun to be able to cycle through what house you wanted them to have. Maybe you want them to start in the apartment versus the final big house. 3. The play structures are able to be in our yard for the community, but they can’t be with your house. It would be nice if I could place it in all of my outdoor space. 4. It would also be really nice to have more furniture options. It looks like there could be more coming but I’ve yet to see any. 5. It would also be nice if not everything cool cost 10k plus in coins. When it can take generations to earn that many coins, furniture shouldn’t cost that much. 6. I like the aspect of having outages in your home, because that can definitely happen in real life. However I don’t like that even though it says I have a 70% chance of fixing it that never happens. If these things get taken into consideration, and changes are made I would be more than happy to change my rating.
