Thank you for playing Underground Blossom, we fixed some bugs in this new version!
My kids and I have been playing all the Rusty Lake games over the years together. The games are perfect for screen sharing to a TV so everyone can participate and enjoy, and occasionally laugh at together. The ‘weirdness’ in these games, all with reappearing themes, characters and objects is just sublime. The puzzles are just the right level of difficulty- we’ve never walked away feeling unchallenged or that they are frustratingly difficult and esoteric, as some puzzle games are. We only began Underground Blossom last night but all of us got pulled in right away, can’t wait to spend a little after dinner time in coming evenings to play the rest. What I especially like about these games, and a note to the developers- is that each game is that they are complete on their own; we don’t get bombarded with adds or needing to make in all purchases for more content. I would even be willing to pay a little more for a single title to keep it this way. Please continue with more great releases in the future!
Love the game! Especially the ending. Huge fan of all Rusty Lake games. I have played them repeatedly over the years and I’ve recommended them to my nephews who also love them. One of my favorite things about the Rusty Lake collection has always been the excellent and atmospheric sound design . With Underground Blossom, while I really enjoyed the evocative music in between stations and the voice acting, the sound effects of say, obtaining a key, are slightly tinny compared to the more solid and satisfying sounds in their other games. I did not really like the background train station noises, it felt like something was missing. The music that played when Laura‘s mother was taken by the deer skull was like nails on a chalkboard! I found it anxiety inducing. Ditto for the screeching and slamming noises throughout the Soul station segment. It was unnerving. I will be sure to shut the music off in the settings next time I play it. Of course, I was still thrilled for a new installation in this wonderful series and highly recommend this game along with entire superb collection.
I have been a huge fan of Rusty Lake for 7 years now. I have every single game and have played them over and over. This is a stunning and beautiful addition to the series. It is challenging but fun and keeps the player moving. This one also seems yo wrap up some loose ends. I always enjoy the game play, and this one was very fun. The puzzles were a bit easier than I am used to from this series however there are some rather difficult ones that make up for it. The visual are also just stunning. As time goes on the design begins to grow and become more and more beautiful. It stays simplistic to harken back to the roots (get it lol) but modernized it to make it seem more fresh. This is so much fun. I recommend everything by Rusty Lake the whole series is fun and spooky. This is the perfect time of year for it too! 10/10 I will continue to recommend to everyone I meet!
I seriously can’t give these devs enough credit, I never ever buy any games on my phone but the rusty lake games are the exception. I have played every single one (minus the coop one) and I can’t say enough good things about these games. The puzzles are fantastic and just difficult enough to bring you to the point of wanting to look it up before it clicks. The atmosphere and world building in such a simple point and click game is amazing. The music, sound, and art style are perfectly unsettling and creepy. There are a couple things that I find an issue with though. Which brings me to the first problem, ever since I played the first one the developers have basically ruined my expectations for games as I have never been able to find other games that satisfy my itch for this genre of games. They are honestly my favorite and I find myself constantly redownloading and replaying them when it’s been long enough to forget most puzzles. The second issue I have with these games is the fact that once I finish it I get the urge to just keep playing more and know I have to wait for the next one which kills me. If anyone actually reads this and you’re on the fence I sincerely ask you to give at least the lite version a try and I promise you will be hooked!
I have all of the Rusty Lake games and I have played most of them more than once! This is another great addition that has the same atmosphere as the other games and fun puzzles. Underground Blossom is shorter than some of the other games that you have to purchase but I felt like the story was more straight forward. The story, at least for me, has been difficult to follow at times in the other games but I really enjoy that they focused on Lauren for this one and it made the story make more sense to me. Underground Blossom still has the creepy atmosphere that makes you tense as you play as the other games. I love escape games like this and Submachine and they are difficult to come by. I can’t wait to play the next game when it comes out!
Take it with some salt as I have been following Rusty Lake for some time and a very big fan of their work This has been a fairly straight forward game, can play through it all in maybe 2 hours tops. There is a walkthrough provided as you need but completely optional. This game is part of a larger series, the Cube Escape is probably where you would want to start as it does reference some other scenes in there, the birthday party for example. The music is super tasteful, my one and only critique though is that it is so short it is often left feeling empty. It is not complete silence, plenty of ambience, but I do wish there were some more moments of music throughout.
I waited until I knew I had enough time to immerse myself into another saga of the family history. I started mid afternoon and on chapter five a few hours later as I couldn’t put it down. Now I’m stuck as I have tried everything so checked the walkthrough. Even though I had tried swiping my paintbrush over the picture, (yes I had the blood on it) I had to click the item to become named and then swipe the face. Al other inventory items were just dragging to the hot spot. I understand playing a game immediately after release can be glitchy, but I’m def not complaining! Love, love love!
I took this game only as a puzzle game. The puzzles are not really difficult. Give some tries and you should solve them all by yourselves. I bought this game because I used to like their original games. I don’t care about the story. The game designers failed to tell the story clearly, probably because they didn’t even know the story and perhaps their minds are full of chaos. Honestly, they no longer have the creativity which they used to show in the original Rusty Lake games. Also check their website, which is full of teasers and other random stuff, but lack of serious development of their games. If players are treated less seriously in this way, I, a former loyal player, have lost the last interest in their works. Anyway, those new to this series may find this game entertaining. But I will no longer buy any of their new games.
