Mattel163 has done an excellent job of presenting the game with bright, snappy graphics and an intuitive interface that makes dragging and dropping cards feel natural. The inclusion of house rules—such as the beloved 'stacking' mechanic for draw cards—is a massive plus, allowing players to tailor the chaos to their liking. Furthermore, being on Apple Arcade means the obnoxious coin economies of other digital UNO versions are entirely absent.
The main drawbacks stem primarily from the online infrastructure. While playing against AI is functional, the true joy of UNO is multiplayer, and occasional connectivity hiccups can disrupt the flow of a fast-paced game. Additionally, progression to unlock new avatars and cosmetic decks can feel like a bit of a slow grind.
