Hey buds, we've got a new greasy update for you:
- Game improvements

I’ve seen a number of reviews stating that this is an unoriginal Pay-To-Win idle clicker game; this is simply not true. Yes, it’s greasy. Yes, you could easily spend a lot of money in-game. However, I’ve been playing since it came out over a year ago and have never spent a single penny on it, despite winning over 80% of the events in that time & am currently sitting on well over 2000 hash coins. I’ve also spent a ton of hash coins in events and have only earned them in-game (no promotional offers, no cash spent). If you’re spending money on this, you’re probably just not very good at strategizing. I would recommend checking out r/GreasyMoney on Reddit, it’s a great community with spreadsheets and strategy advice. As to it being unoriginal. Again, not true. The devs have done a nice job incorporating actual quotes, scenes & a diverse character list straight from all 12 seasons of the show. In terms of format, it may seem unoriginal now but the truth is the devs pioneered this particular format and if you’ve seen it before it’s likely that whatever other apps you’ve seen it in actually copied it from this one. If you like the show and enjoy a good idle clicker game, don’t miss this one!
I really enjoyed this game for a while, but it is nearly impossible sometimes to get the rewards you want during events if you want to get one of the top tier rewards. For example, I really wanted that wedding dress costume for Candy but it was only a reward for the top 1-20 people in your crew during the event, I had already spent money to boost my cash production/automation. I was on vacation and just didn’t want to be bothered to keep clicking on the collect cash button, I would literally have to do it obsessively for hours to even stay in the 11-20 ranking range to get the dress. It just isn’t worth it for me in the long run to spend my hard earned money on a virtual game continuously, when I could pay money to buy a full game I enjoy. It isn’t worth my time either, to just sit there and click the collect cash button because I don’t want to spend my real money. I really enjoyed this game for a while but since they took away the option to download/play apps to get free hashcoins, it became harder to get them and harder for me to get a leg up in the events (now you have to do those surveys with all the stupid popups). It is a shame because I LOVE the design and the work put into coordinating these events...they are great and I always looked forward to them, but I just don’t see myself enjoying the game anymore. I had a good run with it tho, which is why I gave it 4 stars.
The amount of work that’s clearly put into this is impressive and makes it very fun, especially if you’re a fan of the show. But here’s my thing, the events. So let’s say you just bought a new business (not any specific) and you need the business character cards to upgrade the business. Too easy right?? Well, there’s always 3 different cards you can buy with liquor or whatever the event currency is. Those 3 cards change to different cards every 2 hrs or so. Simple. But the thing is, when you have just bought a new business, the specific character card you need will almost NEVER pop up as one of those cards. But they will always have one of those “greasy deal” things with that card you need. Lol what a coincidence. So you can’t even upgrade that business unless A. You buy the greasy deal, B. You buy hashcoins, or C. I guess you could download a bunch of random apps for a low payout. I don’t wanna sit here and make complaints just to get told “Hey bud! Sorry you don’t like our game! You can make comments and suggestions at wedontactuallycare@tpbgame” or whatever. Like it’s clear what you’re doing. You know people want that certain card to upgrade that business to proceed in the event. And you make it almost impossible to get unless they spend money. So I guess I’m just hoping you’ll come out of this money greedy stage and go back to the fan-based game people love. Take care.
I hate to leave this review because I did live this game, but no more. The devs will say it isn’t, but everyone who plays this knows that every week it gets harder and harder to pass anything without spending what? Hundreds of dollars every weekend just to finish a special event? I mean that is ridiculous beyond comprehension. You used to be able to finish these weekly events by just saving up hash coins and playing often, now it’s virtually impossible. For instance, the current even going on now, it used to get harder as you got further into the game, but now the only way to advance is to spend a lot of money. There are 6 buildings to unlock, and like clockwork, the character you need to unlock it NEVER come up on the 3 card rotation that changes every 2 hours, it used to, not anymore. So here I am, on building 4, no way to unlock it even after spending 2 days trying, waiting for the character to pop up so I can buy cards for him, but he never does. The only option is to buy hash coins and buy the character outright, but who in their right mind would spend that sort of money on a phone game that requires this weekly? People could buy a new PlayStation and a bunch of games for what they are spending on this scam. It makes me wonder why Apple allows devs to rip people off like this? Why have any games in the AppStore at all if the only people who can afford to play them have 7 figure bank accounts?
I’ve been playing this game consistently for over 7 years. It was always one of my favorites but over the years, the changes have made the game not so enjoyable. There was a point where you could watch a quick 15-30 second ad to boost your income or get bonuses and that would be it. You will be sitting though 1+ minute ads these days, some of which you can’t even get out of unless you completely exit the game. I appreciate the opportunity to watch an ad for a bonus, but there needs to be regulation and more review of the ads allowed because some of them are incredibly glitchy and semi scammy. This game isn’t exactly pay to play, but the amount of hash they give as prizes has substantially dissipated since the beginning. After finishing a season, you used to get about 25-40 hash on average. Now you’re lucky to get 5. They want you to buy that so save it up if you don’t wanna spend actual money. The concept of the game and overall functionality is still the same game I love. I like that they’ve added Conky as another way to get bonuses. My biggest complaint here is the fact we’re all adults and don’t have time to sit around and watch 15 minutes worth of ads when we’re taking the time to unwind and enjoy this game. I wish they’d go back to the shorter ones.
The show is awesome. The characters brilliant. The app. Leaves a lot to be desired maybe my expectations are too high. Just seems like another generic pay to win or it becomes and endless grind to get anywhere. The ratio of dollar to hash coin (in game currency) is WAY out of balance I feel. That said, the concept and people that have created the show have my utmost respect. Every series was brilliant and I can't wait for season 12 to air. The game has made some interesting changes with all the new events with the hash coins (over priced and valued) are becoming less awarded through hard grinding leaving the only option to “pay to win”.... we understand we are all here to make money but this aspect kills it for me. I stick around this app because it’s a time killer but I promise I won’t pump another dollar (under 40$) ever into this game with its current arrangements. I do respect the creators of the show (not necessarily the game) and wish the highest success as I feel they are genuine in what they do. The dev’s for the game did a great job “quoting” the original show but that’s the only originality that’s offered in game. The concept and platform is unoriginal. Please take this as constructive and in no way is designed to be ugly or hurt anyone’s feelings on what may have been hard work creating. Good luck with the new developments, I’ll stick around to see what happens hopefully.
I am a big fan of TPB and have consumed every ounce of content they have put out. This game is a wonderful collation of past episodes and memorable lines all while injecting a sense of novelty. Overall it’s a great mindless grind full of fun moments and interesting costumes. There really is a lot of work that goes into creating all of these special events and they do not disappoint or feel too derivative. However, despite these very well designed events I do take issue with how frequent they are. Since I have started playing a month or so ago there has been an event literally every day. This frequency makes them feel less special and I am less inclined to spend money on them since tomorrow or in a few days there just going to be another one. I feel that having events on the weekends or holidays would add to their impact and ultimately draw more revenue from the average player. This would be a win win for both players and developer. Maybe it’s just my business analyst side coming out but I really think this may be worth considering. All in all, this game is definitely worth playing if you are even the smallest of TPB fans.
First let me start by saying the game is great. Sure there is a lot repetition but somehow it still draws you in. Lately however it seems that it’s becoming more money hungry. Whereas before the events were scarce, now as soon as one ends another one begins. With this (and in general) comes opportunity to earn extra in-game currency by watching ads, downloading apps, or making purchases. And this is where everything goes wrong. The whole system is broken. Often times watching ads crashes the game or just doesn’t register causing frustrations. There’s been times when I spent weeks completing an offer and no reward has been received. In last case I contacted the devs and all they could do was point the finger at their vendor (iron source). Contacting iron source is yet another wave of frustrations. It takes them weeks to respond (in my last case nearly 3 weeks) stating that they need info which was already submitted to them twice! And now by the looks of it they are taking their time again. So for those who do complete offers (or spend money to complete offers) be very careful as its a hit/miss situation at which point there’s nothing you can do. Other than that again, it’s a really fun game that will keep you coming back for more.
