Territorial.io is proof that you don't need complex graphics to create a deeply engaging strategy game. It's essentially a game of 'Risk' on steroids, played out in real-time against hundreds of other players or bots. The goal is simple: capture more land than anyone else.
The depth comes from the math. You have to balance your troop growth with your expansion; expand too fast, and your borders are weak; wait too long, and you'll be boxed in. It’s incredibly fast-paced, with games often lasting less than five minutes. The sheer variety of maps—from world maps to abstract shapes—keeps the strategy from getting stale. It’s one of the most addictive and 'pure' strategy games on the App Store.

Tips & Walkthrough
The key to early-game success is knowing how much to expand. Don't use more than 20-30% of your total strength on a single expansion click, or you'll leave yourself vulnerable to neighbors.
Gameplays
In large multiplayer games, you can send 'Peace' or 'Ally' requests. Use these to secure your flanks while you focus on expanding into unclaimed territory or attacking a common enemy.

Good app, but…

It’s actually fun to play, there is actual strategy involved (unlike OTHER games with mobile support..), and it keeps the player working to the goal of winning a game. There are issues with it though, and I’m specifically taking about the games quality, issues with screen not showing all of what needs to be, the keyboard pushing the screen upward, and many more, like being unusable on slow internet. You see, on mobile the controls and quality are overall decent, but the huge downside is the screen being not properly projected, and it is shifted to the sides of the screen, and when the keyboard is used, the screen will remain far above its normal, and the only way to fix it is to reset the app. It is also not very good on slower internet speeds, and if the internet gets poor enough to disconnect, you cannot get back into the game. But ignoring EVERYTHING I just said, this app is absolutely great, it’s a fun game, and I highly recommend it to others, but that dosent mean it doesn’t have issues though.
Good game but…..
Wed Aug 03 2022 hates your scamI really like this game, you get to play as any country you want and fight against other players and bots. It’s really simple, all you have to do is press a couple buttons and you fighting making alliance’s and a whole bunch of other stuff. But beware there a lots of sweaty players, and people of pretend to be bots. Asides from that there is another thing, the emojis you can pick to communicate between matches the will disappear. So because of that you can’t communicate that well. Another thing is the amount of time you have to wait to play a free for all match, you can have 10 options to pick from to play but 9/10 of them are team matches which in my opinion aren’t as fun as free for all matches. It takes a while to find a good match for free for alls as well. But I’m jest talking about the minor thing that need fixed. Everything else is pretty good. But if you want to get good at the game you either need to be really smart or have experience. Overall a good game.
Good up but needs little updating
Fri Feb 24 2023 ChrisroveaonadeIt’s been like 1 year since an update. The thumbnail is kinda cringe to be honest idk what that is. And we need some new things added tho. I think the developer quit with this app. I surprised people still play. And for we need new maps. But I believe Middle East map was added but the store doesn’t say the last update but a year. Why didn’t we get African continent and South America and then just Antarctica, Oceania. Singleplayer easy mode feels like hard mode I always get invaded by those people in Africa. And sometimes it doesn’t let you use your boat to get other, those Icelanders annoy me they just boat me, it doesn’t let me do it from United Kingdom or Ireland
Great game and hope to see implements into the future

One thing that I would love to see implemented is bombs. This game is about war and nowadays there are bombs in war. It would also be cool to maybe send out spies too. I’m was thinking for bombs there could be 3 different bombs. They cost a lot to use and it goes from weakest bomb to strongest bomb and they gain loads of territory. They would also have to have a cool down because if too many people were using bombs and a lot at a time it would be chaotic. As for spies they could maybe send over 2 spies in a game and they could also attack from the inside. They would cost less than a bomb and do less damage. Personally for me if these two things were added into the game this game would become my absolute favorite game.

Wed Apr 26 2023 Jo21236Ok so, like I said, I love this game. Very simple, very fun. Here’s the thing I want though that would make this the best map strategy game in the entire universe. Custom maps for mobile. They already have it for computer so why not here? Like it would be so much fun playing on maps from the literal organs of yourself, to your house, to gigachad. It would be so much fun and would make this game a lot better! Also, one more complaint, make bot an invalid name. I was reading other reviews and they were saying about how they got trolled by fake bots, so my solution is to just make the name bot invalid. So yeah, change these two things, and I bet this game will become a LOT more popular.

Thu Mar 17 2022 KskeishgsoxkcThe game is fun and satisfying to play, however there are a couple of bad spots. My main problem in the game is that it is nearly impossible to comeback. If somebody has both more land and more money than you, there is no way that you can beat them. Even with multiple people, it’s very hard to beat the largest person. I love the features that have been added like non aggression pacts and the new maps like India. Personally I would love to see a south east Asia map, going from Australia to Taiwan in the north, Burma in the west, and New Zealand in the east.

I love the game but idk what happened when I join the game it took forever to get in when I got in. It was a little bit different and strangers and when I go in to play online, I saw a little bit people playing. It was so strange I thought shouldn there be more people?, I was trying to figure out what was happening. So. I was playing the world online and I didn’t see any of space to make more space so it was so strange and weird, and I was dying easily by people and and is there a new update ? I really really love the game❤️
Intentional Sabotage
Mon Feb 10 2025 Apple_isTrashThe developer has updated the game to allow chat and with it several discrepancies have followed. The moderation and admins are players who are able to use gold to become admins and can be anyone with just the right amount of gold. You can be banned from everyone for a 20 secs to an hour. People who are in charge abuse their privileges and authority and are usually abhorrent to talk to. They can “seize” gold that you’ve worked for, drop elo points and like I said can ban you from chatting with other players. Sometimes there are questionable characters that ( if their friends with the right admins) usually won’t be punished for abysmal behavior. The developer absolutely did this on purpose with this update. Trash game. Trashier developer.
