Bug fixs
Tales & Dragons: New Journey is a whimsical and charming open-world adventure that feels like a playable fairy tale. The game does an excellent job of creating a sense of wonder, with a bright, colorful world and a cast of quirky characters. You play as a hero embarking on a quest across the land of Oz (with a unique twist), befriending dragons and battling dark forces.
The gameplay is a mix of exploration, team-building, and tactical combat. The dragons are the stars of the show—collecting them and seeing their unique abilities in battle is the core hook. What I enjoyed most was the 'Fairytale' theme, which subverts classic stories in funny and unexpected ways. It's a very lighthearted game, but there's enough depth in the hero combinations and dragon training to keep RPG fans satisfied. It’s a perfect title for younger players or anyone looking for a low-stress, high-charm adventure.
Vibrant fairytale-themed world
Dragon hatching and training system
Strategic hero-team building
Relaxed exploration and storytelling
Focus on hatching Wind-element dragons early on. Their agility and speed buffs are incredibly useful for clearing the first few chapters of the story quickly.
Pair heroes like Snow White with defensive dragons to create a 'tank' team that can outlast high-damage bosses in the arena.
Yes, it features various large zones based on fairytale locations that you can explore freely.
I saw this game on an ad for another one I was playing. I clicked on it to see if this could be something that I could add to my playing regime. I was highly surprised and excited about the art style and then to travel through the story felt both engaging and interesting. The stories and the characters felt part of my childhood but the place style is right in my adult happy place. Very good game I am very excited to play!
i’ve played quite a few of these types of games and the fact that you get limited on missions not by ur level or cp (losing a battle), but because to do more requires VIP status or monthly paid membership is the worst model i could possibly think of. I’m sitting here staring at a pay wall because my characters are too strong for the current level and in order to move forward i have to either wait 4 hours, or pay. Seriously? there are tons of other games like this that do not throw pay walls at you. try them instead. I’ve never seen a “forced to move forward” game 😂 i guess they said “no one will know…. their gunna know… no, seriously, no one will know….”
To all new players who have decided to try this game, for the love of all that is holy, go and enjoy the game if you want but do not spend a single cent. I’m a former player of the game “Tales of Grimm”, Tapplus’ game which is the exact same as this one. Upjoy/Tapplus has stolen work from others, ditched Tales of Grimm, and burned bridges with the loyal player base to create Tales and Dragon. I have spent money on Tales of Grimm just for the privileges and progress I made to be gone without a trace due to a server shutdown. Other than their ethical issues, the game runs fine but the monetization is a ton more harsh to try and gain money from the unaware noobs. You can play the game, just don’t spend money or support the company via watching ads or anything in-game. Make this cruel company hit where it hurts. Their desperate wallets.
So as someone who’s been playing Tales of Grimm for 3 years I’m guessing and never paid for anything and just got absolutely lucky with everything, I was a bit upset knowing that I couldn’t play the original game I did check out the discord server saying there was a game the same as Tales of Grimm I’m not gonna lie to you, I am upset but I’m also glad that I get to play one of my top 4 fav game again💀 nothings bad about it, but I can understand where the other people are coming from that have spent money on the game and actually managed to get very lucky on stuff and events in the game😭
I downloaded the game because it was suggested by a friend on Discord. Initially I was just going through the motions, but soon found myself enjoying the game for both the character design and familiarity of lore for the characters. They are literally the characters from both our bedtime stories and favorite childhood movies alike, hence the 2 stars. Unfortunately, as soon as I hit level 29 the game became all but unplayable due to paywall after paywall. Enjoy the game for what it’s worth. I did, but please don’t spend a single cent on it. I understand that game development ultimately revolves around profitability, but this is borderline highway robbery.
Just like the other reviews are saying, this game was originally Tales of Grimm. Thousands of people played and sank money into the game before they randomly decided to shut the servers down and tell all the players they can no longer play. Everyone’s account and all their characters and money went down the drain. This game is EXACTLY the same. Same music, same characters, same fights. Literally nothing and I mean NOTHING is different, except you get far less gems for free and the game tries to egg you on to spend money more than before. They remade the game hoping to swindle more people in to spending money. It’s a fun game, but DO NOT give the greedy devs money.
So I love the game a lot I pre ordered it and everything but when the new update came my progress WAS LITERALLY GONE LIKE I HAD TO START AT THE BEGINNING but I’m not picking a bone with the devs or anything I’m not even that mad it may seem like it but I think it’s honestly kinda cool cause I can do things differently so I did kinda hate that it did that cause I had amazing characters but I hope that the devs will come back to me about it and btw I never deleted the game.
So, what I originally thought was a player, the leader of the top guild in the game, kept trying to bully me into spending significant money on the game, when that didn’t work, I was messaged from a second account with the same tactics, then after a day, the main account sent me sexy pics and said if I wanted more photos, to go spend $200 in the game. Reverse image search showed the pics to be stolen from the net, and to the best I can tell, the 2 accounts have to be devs or why would they care so much if I spent money in the game? Really weird experience.
