New physics:
DRAFTING! Based on research papers on drafting to reduce drag, we now have lower drag behind other cars... time to slingshot!
Now here is where things gets interesting: Drafting also reduces the drag of the car in FRONT as long as the cars are very close, so you can also get a push by having someone tailgating you, as you ride their bow wave! Drag reduction can be up to 30% by drafting the guy in front, and up to 40% by riding the bow wave of the guy behind you... but the cars must be VERY close for this bow wave effect to happen! Can you use this drag reduction to get faster lap times?
Physics-tweak:
Car moments of inertia are a bit refined to be a bit more accurate... this reduces tumble rates after accidents as well.
Bug-fix:
Post-race on-screen score now shows the score you just got on that lap, not your current BEST score!
This lets you see if you just set a personal record the moment you cross the line.
BEST score remains displayed on the mission cards as always.
The graphics aren't the best but this game is awesome. I got all 12 cars available. It has a mode where you can make your own track. It also has a BNSF train. I think there is about 7 different types of trains. I highly recommend getting this game. It also has down force physics. When it says that thing about fantasy violence it is just some red that comes up on the screen when you crash. The cars can be hard to control so I recommend this game for people 12 and up. If you have an iPhone 6+ you can put in the Google cardboard thing if you know what that is. Please support this company and get this game so they can make more.
I'm really enjoying Stradale on my iPad Air 2. It reminds me of the Atari classics Hard Drivin' and Race Drivin', both of which took care to simulate core driving mechanics as accurately as the technology allowed, but with crazy tracks. The controls are accurate - I'm finding virtual buttons for gas and brake with tilt steering emulates the driving experience well. And it's hard! Which is refreshing - a lot of us grew up with games that made no effort to hold your hand and this carries on that tradition. Trying something again and again until you nail it is immensely more satisfying than being assisted by a malleable A.I. that wants to give you a participation award.
This is the most challenging, hardest, but at the same time, funnest driving experience I have ever had on my iPad! I know the graphics aren’t the best but the driving physics are unmatched. I honestly hope that the developer continues with updating this as I would really hate to see this one go. I’m a 47 year old pilot that mainly plays flight sims but this one has most definitely made my favorites list!
When i first got this game on my old iPad 2 with ios 8.x on it the game ran fine. Now the game interface, which is supposed to be landscape, shows up sideways with half of it going off the screen. Its a landscape mode game but its forcing portrait mode, even when holding the device in landscape position. So this makes half the interface, especially the start button, missing. Impossible to play now. Even if you try to use a force rotation tweak on a jailbroken device, the game ignores it. Last known working version was 1.14 which is no longer available.
This game keeps me entertained for longer periods of time than I originally meant to play 10/10 would buy again… though I wish it had controller support.
I hardly know what to say. This game so beats any other car game ever made, including all the AAA PC games. This game changed my life, gave me inspiration. A masterpiece of extraordinary racing. Truely a groundbreaking title. The physics are totally real.
This is a very fun and at points challenging. One thing that would make it a bit more fun would be more customization option that could even tweak each cars performance a bit more like aerodynamics or engine tuning.
The graphs are good but not the top quality compared to the best games today. I would like a realistic cockpit and dash in car. To feel like you are actually drive the car. I don't think the red splatter paint is necessary.
