Updated color icon position for iPhone 14 Pro Max with Dynamic Island.
Stimmy Shapes is a thoughtfully crafted app that targets the growing 'sensory play' and neurodiversity-friendly market. It’s less of a game with win/loss states and more of a digital fidget toy. You interact with various geometric shapes that react to touch with satisfying haptic vibrations, liquid-smooth animations, and high-quality spatial audio. It’s incredibly effective at providing a calming, grounding experience for users who are overstimulated or just need a sensory break.
The design is deliberately low-contrast and soft, avoiding the flashy, high-speed triggers found in most mobile games. While it might seem too simple for typical gamers, as a wellness and accessibility tool, it’s excellent. The variety of interactive 'modes'—from tracing glowing lines to popping soft bubbles—ensures that there is a tactile experience for every preference. It’s a peaceful, high-quality corner of the App Store.
Customizable haptic feedback and audio levels
Low-stimulation visual design
Diverse interactive sensory modes
Ad-free and distraction-free interface
Explore the different 'Themes' in the main menu. If you prefer tactile feedback, try the 'Pop' mode; if you need visual calm, the 'Flow' mode provides slow, liquid-like interactions.
There are no timers or scores. Simply use multiple fingers to interact with the screen and see how the shapes react to your gestures and pressure.
Yes, Stimmy Shapes is designed for all ages and is a popular tool for children who benefit from sensory play.
My little brother, diagnosed with borderline ADHD (and is suspected for autism), loves this app as much as I do. I am suspected to be on the spectrum myself, and this app has helped me at school, school trips, and other stressing events. I find myself coming to this app whenever I feel overwhelmed—going to a place that’s quiet and dim and playing with the shapes until i feel better. It’s definitely helped me cope with situations better. With this app, my view on outgoing life changed for the better as I realized that I need ways to output internal energy, letting me think clearer and understand others better. My little brother was introduced to this app recently, and it’s safe to say he also likes it. He sat down and played for an hour, something he was never known to do. It really helped calm him down and it even helped with his energy at school. Whenever he needs something to do and is in a public setting, he is quick to come to this app to mess around with the shapes. His favorite color option is green as that is also his by far favorite color. I personally like the rainbow scheme because it’s not overbearingly strong in one hue. All in all, I love this app. It was designed with care, and it shows through the way it helps me as well as others. Thank you for creating a positive impact for other people—including me! I’ll be sure to keep an eye out for any new projects releasing; I’m already planning to buy the particle simulation! 🫶
