Bug fixed.
New features added.
"More than arcade! More than Tycoon!"
Steel Mill Manager is a refreshing take on the 'Idle Tycoon' genre, moving away from simple clickers and offering more granular control. You aren't just watching numbers go up; you're managing complex production lines—from degassing and forming to cold rolling. The level of customization is impressive, giving you full control over faculty assignments and facility expansions.
The game strikes a great balance between 'arcade' and 'tycoon.' While it has the accessibility of a casual game, the management of employee satisfaction (tea rooms, snack areas) adds a layer of depth that keeps the simulation interesting. The graphics are clean and the UI is easy to navigate. It’s a solid choice for management fans who want something more substantial than a standard idle game without getting bogged down in spreadsheet-level complexity.
Complex production line management
Employee facility customization
Deep tycoon strategy
Advanced steel product unlocking
Full factory control
Upgrade your furnaces first to ensure a steady flow of raw material to your cold rolling and forming lines.
Don't forget to build Tea Rooms! Happy employees work faster and reduce the risk of production slowdowns.
Yes, there are 'Ads-Free' packs available as in-app purchases.
This is a fun game. I like this type of game, and of the ones I’ve played, I like this one the best. However, there is a BIG bug that gets really annoying. I’ll play for a bit, upgrade as much as much as I can afford, etc., then switch over to other games for a while, and when I come back to this one after about 20 or 30 minutes, my factory has made ZERO money, ZERO progress. If I leave for several hours, or overnight, I get a window when I come back where I can see my offline earnings. Also mildly annoying is the music. It doesn’t really loop well.
So at a certain point of progress in the game there is an task in multiple factories to upgrade scrap truck 4 to level 3. There’s 4 slots for trucks, but only 3 trucks to unlock. Wish that would get fixed.
There is not a lot that is fun here. If you are really bored, it is some busy work in the way that the activity boards you might attach to a toddlers crib will keep you pushing buttons and honking horns, all for nothing. The game is quite buggy. For example in the second factory, if you upgrade all three ships all the way, it will eventually give you a quest to update a fourth ship which doesn’t exist. This will effectively lock you out of further progression in the quest queue. Another problem is that layout of the conveyor belts is infuriatingly inefficient and bad. There is no option to redesign the factory unlike factories or the half dozen games of that ilk. You are stuck with the ill conceived factory layout which leaves your workers starved for raw materials and largely wasting time until the next break. When they do have raw materials, they likely aren’t working anyway, because their machinery is broken. The AI which powers the repairmen is similarly inexcusably horrible. There is no attempt to take multiple jobs near one another. They will often walk past six broken machines in order to fix one on the opposite side of the map. If they have enough supplies for multiple fixes, often they will go back to their home room to restock anyway, walking past a half dozen broken machines on the way. After about the first hour of gameplay, the game becomes utterly stingy with new workers. I have factories with workrooms that have never had a manager because not enough spawn. Likewise once your initial quota of 30 or so workers runs out. You never get any more and have to hire temp workers who never advance. This is in the end one of those pay to win, waiting games designed to leave you frustrated. In short, it is a pay to wait game. Do yourself a favor and pick something else that is actually well designed and fun.
Stop shoving tutorial down my throat and let me play the game. Stop forcing me to hire workers. Stop forcing me to manually drive truck after hiring a worker to drive the truck. Stop with the annoying blinking hand trying to get me to follow quest guide. Stop forcing me to hire a manager. Stop forcing me to activate manager. Stop forcing me to manually collect trash to unlock game features. Stop forcing me to do research. Stop forcing me to go to events. Stop forcing me to claim rewards. Stop forcing me to claim training manual. Stop forcing me to ho to the stupid space plant and going through long winded explanation of it and forcing me yo upgrade it. How do I destroy the stupid space plant you shoved down my throat?
During event, you are given 3 objectives to complete at a time but some cannot be completed. For instance, one objective is “ upgrade any facility “ . But you can’t upgrade it when all the facilities are fully upgraded already. So that objective is impossible to complete and you can get that same one for 2 or even all 3 objectives. Which means there is no way to improve your position in the event. Once all the facilities are fully upgraded, that objective should disappear from list of objectives. And this is just one issue of a few that we have.
It’s a good overall game but someone really needs to look at the timing of things being made cause it produced all the watches in the space event all at once and the robot crane can only pick one at a time this is on iPhone 12 please fix it would make the game much better either to be able to pick up more then one or fix the timing it’s made and not all of them come at one time
I was really enjoying the game until the update. I hate that the production rooms lose power. If a worker is mad they leave the floor and go to the break room. The upgrade tree now has four different tiers to upgrade. The best part about the game before the update was how fun and simple it was to play. So unfortunately with the update and the path the game is going down I am deleting it. Thanks for the fun I had before the changes.
I really wish I wasn’t having my hand held so much. The tutorial is too long and I feel like its just. Meh. I’m sitting here waiting and waiting just so I can see what I already know. I know how to read😂 and I hate that I have to sit there and watch an employee or item just go down the belt. I closed the app just so I could skip the tutorial
