- Exposed alien psy-ops (stability and performance updates)
- Stopped a robot uprising (minor bug fixes)
Star Jolt is a perfect example of arcade purity. It doesn't bother with a story or complex mechanics; it just gives you a ship, a bunch of things to crash into, and a leaderboard. The presentation is what really sets it apart—the scanlines and the glow of the 'screen' perfectly capture that 1982 arcade cabinet feeling.
The difficulty is brutal, but fair. When you crash, you know it's because your thumb slipped or your reflexes weren't fast enough. It’s an honest game. The synthwave soundtrack is excellent and fits the vibe perfectly. While it might be too simplistic for those looking for a deep progression system, it’s a top-tier choice for anyone who misses the days of dropping quarters into machines to see their initials on the top of the list.
Pure arcade-style gameplay
Retro CRT visual effects
Global cross-platform leaderboards
Unlockable cosmetic themes
The game is all about micro-adjustments. Don't over-steer. At high speeds, the smallest tap is enough to clear an obstacle. Watch the upcoming patterns and try to stay centered whenever possible to give yourself more reaction time.
Your main goal is the high score. Collecting 'Jolt' energy increases your score multiplier. Risking a close call with an obstacle also provides a bonus, encouraging a dangerous but rewarding playstyle.
Themes are unlocked by reaching specific score milestones or completing in-game challenges related to your total distance traveled.
This game completely changed my life entirely! I became a CEO of a multi-million dollar stock market business that I’ve been able to run successfully for the past 6 months. I am now a billionaire and this all happened when this game popped up on 2024, thanksgiving. I have never seen a game better than this on the App Store since 1945. This game makes me time travel into the future and grants unlimited abilities and gifts. This game deserves at least, at minimum of 5 stars. Not only that after GNX releases on the Friday beforehand making this the best month of 2024. This game predicted the creation of starry cranberry, generational music albums, and more! This game is the best thing I have on my phone. W game
I love the aesthetic of the game and it sets itself apart from most games. You go in and outside of the game which also makes it challenging but awesome. The sound is also great, the voice, the coin noises, even the buttons, they give that retro feel. Honestly this might be one of the best free retro games on the App Store.
This game is really cool, but I do have one problem with it. You can only play a few rounds before getting an ad. This wouldn’t be too annoying, but some ads you aren’t allowed to skip until you’ve watched the entire thing. So you can play for like two minutes or less and then have to sit through an ad for 30 seconds. I understand a game has to have ads to make money, which I’m fine with, but at least make it so you don’t have to sit through the entire 30 seconds.
I’ve been completely addicted to this game. Managed to hit #20 on the global leaderboard in three of the categories. However there are glitches that happen during runs sometimes that freeze the game and don’t record your score. I once lost a high score due to this and was frustrated. Other than that amazing game. The leaderboard and competitive nature of the game make it very fun. Also, definitely worth paying to remove the ads.
This game literally blew my expectations out of the water. It’s strangely addicting to see how much higher you can get on the next run. Super extorted to see where this game goes in the future and i’m looking forward to more content!
Easily worth $.99 The art is what caught my eye immediately. I don’t have an OLED iPhone, but this game makes me want one! Dev really nailed the 70’s gaming aesthetic perfectly. Controls are a TAD touchy, a bit more lenient dead zone could be added, or at least a sensitivity slider, as it’s registering a turn when I’m actually lifting my thumb to re-center. Other than that though, this is basically a perfect game! I bet it could even do well with a Apple Watch port.
Only suggestion is that some of the ships are not balanced like at all. There’s pretty much no reason to use a ship that doesn’t have a score multiplier
It was a good fun game to pass time, I purchased the no ads though and after a maybe 3-4 hours the game randomly closed and reset itself completely. I lost all progress in the game and now have ads again. It also won’t let me restore my purchase.
