Good game, could be better

I play Solitaire, FreeCell, spider solitaire, & pyramid every day, and they are all good games to challenge your mind, but they all have the same quirks that I wish would get fixed. The first is that after winning a daily challenge, you are presented with only 2 options - next deal or menu. Frequently, I want to exit so I can look at daily challenges. I wish that were an option. The second is that the games give you bonus points on your 1st, 5th, & 10th wins of the day. Oddly, how many games you’ve won in a day isn’t shown in the statistics. Just as odd, the day starts at 3 am Eastern Time for this metric. I will often wake at 1 am EDT and win the daily challenge, only to be given the additional 100 points for my 1st win of the day later in the morning. I also wish that some difference between pyramid & FreeCell in how they handle challenges would be aligned. While I am not normally a fan of the time wasted with the graphics, I like the fact that pyramid shows you when you meet a challenge whereas FreeCell makes you constantly return to the challenges (after the extra steps to leave the menu) to know if you’ve completed them. Finally, I often accidentally hit the button to play the daily challenge after I have already won it by mistake. I don’t understand why you don’t return to the menu after leaving the daily challenge screen.

Spider

I love the game - I am already at close to level 800 (and I even have a life)! If your goal is to beat your own high score, Spider can bring you hours of enjoyment without the frustration of other online games IF one is careful that goal does not become obsession. I have only two issues with Spider: 1. When I am playing, phone calls are going to voice mail because they are not ringing on my end even though my ringer is on. Nor am I notified that I have missed a call. Thus if I’m expecting an important call, I cannot play. 2. When I leave the in the middle of a the game for whatever reason, when I come back... the sound is gone. All the settings are the same, the sound has not been turned off, yet I cannot get it to work unless I either A. leave the game again, lock the phone, reopen it, open a different app altogether and go then go back to spider where I’ll here a click and the sound will return ...OR B. Close the app, turn off the phone, wait a minute or so, turn the phone back on, the reload a NEW game. Then I get sound. This is a new issue that has begun since you changed your format and I believe it is a bug that need repair.

Recent issues

While this has been a “go-to” game for several years, I am about to abandon it. First, there are delays in both opening it and then in maneuvering to a specific— and finally again in being able to start playing. Whatever those delays are do not apply to other apps, so I infer that it is an issue that the seller needs to address. More disconcerting is the fact that these issues also apply to their Solitaire game. Further, there have been multiple instances where a game nearly complete will simply quit. When such a game is a difficult one and it feels I have nearly gotten “out of the woods,” it is aggravating. When it happens twice in a row, I am about ready to trash the game. This last issue is why I have written of the first problem on this app instead of on the Solitaire app, since I have not experienced this last issue on Solitaire. I have already wasted enough time on this game that I am not interested in spending. More time writing about it. There are other games that are worthy of my time. Please fix both issues in this app and the same issue on the Solitaire app. Should you do that, then this app would receive 5 stars; should that not happen, that I will not take the time to give it 1 star, but merely delete both games.

Ruined the game with commercials.

The latest revision told us we would get fun and free features. The commercials are not fun. Between each game a screen cones up selling another game. The X quit button does not appear for a couple of seconds. After you X out another commercial comes up. The X appears on the other side of the screen after a second or so. Then you can play again. I’ve have fun playing this game for years. Like commercial, in app purchases Angry Birds, the constant crap coming up ruins the game. I don’t know why the developers want to abuse the customer base. It would be nice if they would offer s paid version with no commercials. Until then, I will find something else to do. Do not download this version.

What about an update

I have played this game for years. It helps me wind down after a busy day. When I paid to keep from getting ads it became better, but now it keeps giving me games I have played before. (Yes, I can remember them!) I have even gotten new daily challenges that I recognize playing as random deals. Also, there are no little puzzle games like the unpaid version of the game. When I went to the No-ad version (because of the Royal Match ads that go on forever regardless of the five second x-ing out) it did not change on my iPhone. I now have two versions, with ads on iPhone and no-ads on iPad. Why? I just today tried to reload and now I have the with ads version on iPhone and also on iPad, in addition to no ad version and repeat games. So, I give your game three stars.

Scoring the “Daily Challenge”

I love this game! It is challenging. I play the 4-suit Daily Challenge every day. I would like the developers to add a column for the average score or the median score. Occasionally I have played a really great game. When I compare my score or moves to the best, I simply laugh. Today the fewest moves was 113. It is interesting to see what a computer can do, but it doesn’t give any satisfaction. It would be similar to a group of Olympic Gold medalists competing in our primary school’s track and field day. There is NO competition there. But still interesting. Anyway, I would like to compare my scores to that of my peers - not a computer. Thank you for considering this request.

Comical Climber to Royal Retiree

I amuse the folks who run this? Levels above 55 for restricted deal in 4-suit are strangely named. So now I guess it’s amusing to get to level 60. Comical Climber. Ok. Cool. I don’t play for scores or levels, just to solve as many deals as possible. Great app, y’all. Cool. I’m just a disabled old lady with time on her hands. Bring it. First Update: OK so I got to level 65 in 4-suit and the name is a respectful “Advanced.” Second update: They are making a great effort. Now I’m a “Royal Retiree.” I still work at home some, though, guys. I’m a writer. What’s up next, I wonder? Turns out that at Level 75 I’m now Spiderwoman. Well done, y’all. At 99. When I hit 100, can I be Grand Master. Thanks for a great game. Third update: Hey. I took time away when I reached 100. I see you changed things up with high-scoring daily challenges. I guess they are ok. Easier now, though to level up. I don’t know how to see what level I’m at except between games. How can I access that during a game. I guess I’m at Fast Fingers. Cant remember if that’s 130. Maybe. Still fun.

frequent use seems to require deleting & re-installing👀

MobilityWare’s Spider Solitaire mobile game has been 1 of my favorite mobile game for longer than recollection, yet sadly the app for months has been prone to freezing for more than a few seconds EVERY TIME it is launched, opened, or brought in to view, (regardless of wifi or mobile data services…). What a bummer, this once great game has been reduced to a super-laggy shadow of its former self. It appears that the app’s local data results in an increasing degradation of the app’s performance/responsiveness over time ☹️ which necessitates deleting & re-installing 🤦 & a loss of game play history 🤷
