Almost true to the way I play spades

I have played several of the games in the App Store, but they seem like they were designed by someone who has a different way of playing the game, and Mrs. the strategy of the game. I have seen where someone lead a book with an ace and a king is thrown on the eighth, and the player has a lower that they could’ve played with the ace. That sort of playing just throws the whole game off of me, but I’m from New Orleans, and I know we play and do things differently, and everyone has a different way of playing spades, but that does not make sense to ME. The only thing is I wish you could change the game and the players, that would be wonderful and make the game much more interesting. Thank you. I really am enjoying this game.

Remove this app asap it’s offensive

The game and even the thumbnail of this App is truly offensive to me . I’m not sure who approves apps to be put on this platform but somewhere the marketing team completely missed the mark on this one. For starters this is a card came why would there be a need for 3 male people of color in stereotypical manner be the thumbnail for this CARD GAME? Secondly I saw the advertisement for this game in another game I was playing and it once again displayed a large black man with all the stereotypes you could imagine sitting across from what appeared to be a white female hand . Is this how you choose to market to people? It seems that whoever developed this app has some pre conceived notions of people of color and it’s very negative. I only downloaded this app because I was appalled of the advertisement for this game that came through my other game I was playing. It left such a sour feeling with me that I chose to leave a comment. Shame on the developers for creating such vile, stereotypical, and downright offensive product. And shame on Apple for allowing this sort of thing so slip through the where the young and old could be offended by this app. Despite deleting this app I will also be seeking legal action to have this offensive material removed and ensure nothing like this makes it through on this platform again. DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP!!!!!!

Deleted This App Today

Don’t know what happened to this app, but it’s turned into a lazy man’s money-making till that I deleted today, after a couple years of using it. It’s devolved into a maddening game in which the same exact few hands are dealt over and over and over again, and the only thing that changes is which team gets an excessive number of high cards and which gets an excessive number of spades. Team One bids on the high cards they have, only to be absolutely overrun with spades from the other team. Then it’s changed in the reverse, Team Two bids on the high cards they have, only to be absolutely overrun with spades from the other team. This routinely results in 15 tricks being bid every hand, and the annoyance & frustration that comes with not being able to win for losing, except when the game is rigged in your favor (ie, when your team has the majority of the spades and the other team has the majority of the high cards). Did I pay for this? Yes, in the sense that I absolutely waited for ads to run their course, and that I sometimes downloaded other games from the same developer. This developer has made money off of my time, attention & downloading other games; I expect at a minimum, a decent game in return. I’d give the game — and the developer — a minus 10 stars if I could, just because of their greed.

Hatful much?

It seems to me that none black players are mad at one game advertised for black players. We need more games made for black players. Every single comment is someone mad they have to see black people in the game and advertisings. It’s obvious this game is being attacked by racists; that hates to see black anything but is okay as long as it’s not too in your face with blackness maybe if whitewashed it’ll be more “normal” “Standard” even more “consumable” the black faces on your posters and commercials (God NO!😱) We can’t have that dangnabit golly gosh😂🤣 Everyone knows if it ant white it ant excitable! It’s the American way. simple Humans such a shameful disposition really..

Best Spades App!

I love this App. I like the fact that the Ads are out of the way and come on like intermissions instead of appearing at the bottom or top of the playing board. The new look is cleaner. I like the music that plays too although I prefer to play without the music sometimes. No App is going to be perfect and there’s always going to be updates made while developing it. I don’t understand why people are nit picking. Its not necessary. If you’re not an App developer yourself and don’t know what it takes to build an App, keep your negative opinions to yourself and learn to give constructive feedback without insulting the creator.

2024 SPADES

The add came up with probably the most racist banner that I’ve seen. There was no way to get away from the ad, I even loaded it but then had to leave the page and delete the program. I tried Togo back to the game I was playing, but Apple took me back to ad for spades, still with no way to get out of that ad. I did notice that the “get” button had changed to the cloud icon ( it’s for when they know you don’t want that program but hope you have changed your mind) Apple has been watching our habits to get us better ads but in 4 years they still send an 85 y/o man, ads for purses, make up, and dresses. Games that I have rejected 50 times or more, kids games, craft games, and games that my opponents are idiots. Apple needs to install a “get me out of this ad NOW” icon to save time.

Racial Undertones Or What

I'm a white guy born in the 1960 and I got to tell you when this ad popped up on my screen while playing another game and I saw a Black women singing and then saw the three black men dressed like their out of the 1950s it made me cringe due to the game being called spades. I think who ever did this literally has rocks for brains and it was a extremely bad choice, people of all races play spades and to depict it being focused towards black people only in the ad and the game being called spades it's very obvious what the message is here. This is disgraceful and stereotypical of old class racial undertones. Apple should remove this game from their store, I'm extremely surprised to even see something like this on Apples platform in this day and age.

Revision and racially insensitive picture/icon

So I’ve enjoyed playing this game along with others, however during the recent upgrade the creator thought the current change was a grandiose idea. I’m here to tell you, IT WASN’T. To have the game “spades” now being advertised with a picture or artist rendering of what appears to be 70s blacks (which where called spades a not so familiar way of saying n***er), is completely appalling to me and racially insensitive at this point in time. How dare you!!! Yes you can say maybe the creator was ignorant to the word and it’s meaning, well to avoid backlash maybe he/she should’ve stayed with initial picture of just the card. I plan to post this to Facebook, instagram and TikTok as well so others can weigh in.
