Sorcerer Survivors is a fantastic entry into the 'bullet heaven' genre made popular by Vampire Survivors. It focuses on the specific power fantasy of being an all-powerful mage. What sets this apart is the elemental magic system; instead of just random weapons, you build a deck of spells that interact in complex ways. Combining a fire storm with a wind vortex doesn't just deal damage; it creates a massive fire-nado that clears the entire screen.
The pixel art is detailed and handles the thousands of on-screen enemies with impressive stability. The meta-progression is deep, with a wizard academy where you can research permanent upgrades to your mana pool and spell potency. It strikes that perfect 'just one more run' balance, where even a failed run feels productive because of the gold and experience you bring back to your home base. It’s a high-quality, highly addictive survival RPG.
Thousands of enemies on screen simultaneously
Complex elemental spell combination system
Deep meta-progression and character customization
Multiple biomes with unique boss encounters
Always move in a slow circle around the perimeter of the horde. This forces the enemies to clump together, making your area-of-effect spells like Meteor significantly more effective.
Look for specific artifacts that correspond to your main spells. When a spell reaches max level and you have the correct artifact, it will 'Evolve' into a legendary form with massive power.
There are currently 6 unlockable sorcerers, each with a unique starting spell and passive ability.
I gave the game a fair shake and I don't believe its any good. The game is essentially a grind and not a fun one: 1. Wand Selection progress is a tedious grind. 2. Monsters hurtboxes are inconsistent. 3. New spells locked behind a "gacha" that forces you to watch ads to get more gold or grind indefinitely. 4. Most of the spells miss or don't deal enough damage to be worth using over something like ice blades or spirit. 5. UI is garbage with quest markers being covered by advertising at the bottom of the screen. The game is new but could be significantly better.
Just another wanna be vampire survivor. Keep waiting for a new game to top it, but this one doesn't even come close.
The graphics are good and good gameplay
Not fun, shows you ads immediately and has an awful progression system. Don’t waste your time
