Sonic Dream Team is the 3D Sonic game fans have been waiting years for. It captures the speed of the 'boost' era but blends it with the platforming exploration of the 'Adventure' games. The levels are vibrant and surreal, taking full advantage of the 'dream' theme to throw gravity-bending loops and creative hazards at the player. It feels incredibly polished, with controls that are responsive whether you're using a touch screen or a controller.
The real highlight is the roster. Being able to play as Cream or Rouge again in a fully realized 3D space feels nostalgic yet fresh. Each character feels distinct, making it worth replaying levels to find hidden secrets. For an Apple Arcade title, the production value is off the charts—this could easily have been a full-price console release. If you have a subscription, this is the crown jewel of the service right now.
