Shopping Cart Hero 5 is the peak of the legendary flash-game series, successfully transitioning the 'launch and upgrade' loop to a modern mobile format. The premise is as ridiculous as ever: you are a stick figure in a shopping cart, trying to launch yourself off a ramp to achieve maximum distance and height. Along the way, you’ll perform tricks, deploy rockets, and inevitably crash in spectacular fashion.
The progression system is what makes it so hard to put down. You earn money for every run, which you spend on cart upgrades, better rockets, and 'groupies' who help your stats (though they often meet a gruesome end). The 'Hero' series has always had a dark sense of humor, and this entry doubles down on it. It’s a pure, unadulterated arcade joy that doesn't take itself seriously and rewards experimentation with different trick combos and power-up timings.
Addictive launch-and-upgrade gameplay
Smooth swipe-based trick system
Dozens of cart and rocket upgrades
Hilarious stick-figure physics and wipeouts
Global leaderboards for distance and height
Timing the initial run is crucial. Tap as fast as possible to build speed, then tap exactly at the edge of the ramp for maximum lift.
Focus on upgrading your 'Cart Speed' and 'Rocket Fuel' first. Once you have a steady height, invest in 'Groupies' to boost your score multiplier.
Groupies add weight (for momentum) and act as a score multiplier, but they can be lost during crashes.
And I mean it. I played the Shopping Cart Hero series a bit on the computer when I was a lad, and this is essentially everything you could want from a modern game. Controls for tricks with swiping and taping are surprisingly smooth, to the point I was actively going for high combos by like the second area. Just the original games, wipeouts HURT, but I almost always felt it was my fault, not the games’. Aspects of micro transactions exist but are miraculously non-predatory. There is a slot machine you spin after every run, and groupies are now separated into Common, Rare, and Epic. When groupies die now, you have to wait a few minutes before buying them back- but I never found these things mandatory or felt I had to utilize them. The timers, in fact, help add that punishment factor to groupie deaths instead of just buying new ones no problem. No mandatory ads, no constant pop-ups about new events or deals or whatever… This feels like a remnant of the old App Store, yet still functional and playable today. And that is a miracle.
It is actual factual informations that this series of games is probably one of the best and my personal favorite, some of them being flash games but having so much heart, and this game really seems like such a well crafted and passionate project from MonkeyWantBanana. Really looking forward to Shopping Cart Hero 4 if it exists and I’m also hoping for more from you guys in general, love the games, Shipple Dipple our baby
Every couple of years I look to see if a new version of this ever came out. The original was amazing. This ones already great. They stick to what works about the original. Strapping rockets on shopping carts .!
This is a very good game I have originally played SCH3 and didn't know 5 was a thing until I searched it just for fun and I really like how smoothly the game runs and I really like how good the graphics are and this game is extremely fun to play
I don’t know if you are even still making shopping cart hero games. :( the game is 5 stars
I like the creativity and all but the problem is the tricks if I try to do the log roll trick the Superman trick gets in the way so can u remove the Superman trick pls? Signed, Barbara
Am I the only one who wonders where the fourth one went. I mean, there is the first second and third game, but no fourth and straight to the fifth!
I’m not sure if it was the right time but I think I have a good idea
