Thank you for playing Servant of the Lake, we fixed some bugs in this new version!
This is one of the most effective horror games I've played on mobile in a long time. It doesn't rely on cheap scares; it builds a sense of overwhelming 'wrongness' that stays with you. The sound design is incredible—creaking floorboards and distant whispers made me keep my headphones at half-volume because I was genuinely unnerved.
The resource management is tight. You always feel like you're one log of wood away from total darkness. It reminds me a bit of 'Amnesia' in how it handles the feeling of helplessness. My only complaint is that the movement speed can feel a bit sluggish during the ritual segments, but I suppose that adds to the panic. Definitely play this in the dark for the full effect.
Dynamic Sanity System
Multiple Endings based on Choice
Immersive 3D Audio
Resource Management Challenges
Your priority is the hearth. Without light, the shadows will close in. Collect three logs from the porch immediately. Do not look directly into the water if you hear a splashing sound—it drains your sanity meter rapidly.
The gameplay loop involves completing 'Maintenance Tasks' around the house while staying hidden. You must listen for audio cues to know when an entity is nearby. Hiding under beds or in closets is essential when the lantern flickers.
No, you cannot fight the entities. Survival depends entirely on stealth, ritual completion, and light management.
I recommend this game to everyone and anyone who likes puzzle/mystery games. I love this company so so so much. I have played every single one of their games and will continue to in the future. I make countdowns to each new release and am always more than satisfied. This specific game in their series is absolutely my favorite of all time. The notebook with the agenda and note-taking page was evolutionary!! I always draw my notes in my physical notebook when playing these games, so I was VERY pleased to have this as an in game mechanic. I was also very pleased with the language decoding puzzle! If you loved this game, go play every other game by this company!! You will not be disappointed! P.S. If I’m remembering correctly, there were some returning puzzles! Such as the fly in the tree and the cockroaches. Loved those references. I would also like to say that I’m very proud to have completed this game within one day and only 3 peaks at the walkthrough! THANK YOU RUSTY LAKE
I’ve been playing rusty lake games for YEAAARS now. I’ve gone on hour long rants to my friends about this game and the lord behind it. I’ve gotten SO many people into these games. And oh my god i can not recommend SOTL enough to people. This game took me FOUR HOURS to play, and that is FANTASTIC. I knew having to wait till august would be worth it, this game is LOADED with tiny details, lore, the entertaining puzzles, ohhhh my god. I’m so happy. I love this game so much. I’m gonna replay it and stay up all night getting the achievements. I love you guys so so much. Could you tell im absolutely obsessed? My first thought when I saw the end credits: “when’s the next one??? I need moooore!!!” (Of course 4 hours wasn’t enough for me im needy 😅) P.S. whoever was the VA for William— WOW! Like obviously Alexandra and Aldous too, Alexandra yelling at the end of the game was fantastic and Aldous has always had such a calm and fun voice. But WILLIAM! The screaming, the humor, everything!! You are TALENTED!!!
Rusty Lake somehow manages to surprise me every single time. The way the story is presented, the overall concept, the atmosphere, the characters, and the way every little detail slowly connects to something bigger are all brilliantly done. The story keeps unfolding without giving you too much at once, and by the time you reach the end, everything feels much deeper than it did at the beginning — without needing cheap twists or obvious explanations. The puzzles are exactly what I love about Rusty Lake: strange, creative, sometimes disturbing, and genuinely challenging. Some require logic, some observation, and others force you to think in a completely different way. Nothing feels random, though; the puzzles actually serve the story and make you feel like you are part of what is happening. What impressed me most was the progression of the story and how the different themes and events were woven together. Rusty Lake never just gives you a puzzle game — they give you a whole world to uncover. I literally spent seven and a half hours in one night playing this from beginning to end. At some point, I genuinely felt like I had become a servant of the Vanderboom family myself. 😭 No spoilers, but the ending was absolutely worth the journey. Once again, Rusty Lake proves why they are in a league of their own — this was truly worth the wait.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I just finished Rusty Lake: Servant of the Lake and WOW… what an experience. 😭🖤 I went into this game knowing I was going to love the atmosphere, but it honestly exceeded my expectations. The mystery, the unsettling atmosphere, the beautiful artwork, the music, the puzzles, and all those tiny details that make you stop and think… everything feels so carefully crafted. What I love most about Rusty Lake games is that they never simply give you the answers. They make you look, think, question everything, and sometimes wonder how on earth you were supposed to notice that tiny detail. 😂🔎 And Servant of the Lake absolutely delivers that experience. The story kept me curious from beginning to end. There were moments when I thought I understood what was happening, only to realize there was another layer waiting for me. That strange combination of beauty, mystery, darkness, and absurdity is exactly what makes the Rusty Lake universe so special. 🦌🌲 And the bonus missions?! 👀😭 I LOVED having those extra mysteries to discover. They made me want to go back and inspect everything all over again because I was convinced I had missed something. By the time I reached the ending, I honestly didn’t want it to be over. 🥹 It’s one of those games where you finish it and immediately start thinking about all the details, connections, and things you might have missed. Thank you, Rusty Lake, for creating another incredible experience. ❤️ Your games have such a unique identity, and Servant of the Lake feels like another beautiful piece of that bizarre, mysterious universe. Absolutely loved it. 🖤 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 10/10
Spoilers: Words can’t describe how excited I was to find out that Rusty Lake was coming out with a new game. I preordered Servant of the Lake around a month ago, I believe, and played it as soon as I received the release notification. I absolutely loved it. An amazing and heartfelt experience that lasted around an hour and a half. Over the years, we have dived into this wonderfully wild universe. Learning about the characters' lives, their backstories. This game was an amazing addition to that. I cannot wait to see what Rusty Lake has in store for us next. I think I can speak for all of us when I say I know the next game will be just as amazing, or dare I say, even better. Thank you Rusty Lake team! Ps. I love Harvey❤️❤️
Another absolutely legend game by Rusty Lake, smooth game play, it will take quite a few hours to finish and even longer if you are to collect all achievements and hidden secrets, fun puzzles with perfect amount of challenges, blended with the usual dark humor and those little eww moments, if you know what I’m talking about! Not to mention their beautiful music and unique art style as always. This game dives deep into the background of many core characters. If you’ve been following RL and their story like me, this game would blow your mind when the realization hits you I literally screamed out loud! Cannot wait for the release of next game already! Please give us more!
I love the perspective on this one as much as the continued and connected stories for those of us who have played them all. A little shorter than usual for the price point but love it, and you’ve put out so much free content I don’t mind. The puzzles are challenging but not impossible. Now to go back for all the bonus/easter eggs! Thank you! Update: I can’t believe the weekend is over. I’m such an over achiever! Seems like it lasted forever! Here, the past is never dead, so in the end I was able to find ‘him’ thanks to the trail of letters. I wonder what the lake has in store for me next!
I’ve played every rusty lake game made including all of the cube escapes. I’ve been dying for another release and was so excited when this came out finally. My only real complaints are that it wasn’t long enough, some of the others like roots felt longer and like more bang for your buck. The puzzles were also much easier than they usually feel like. It just felt for how long we had to wait like the game didn’t fully deliver. Already can’t wait for the next game though, they can’t pump them out fast enough.
